Have you ever been attacked head-on by the devil? Satan works in various ways of devious cunning and craftiness. Have you ever found yourself in the middle of someone else’s fight? Here’s the scene: a rich sheepherder named Nabal speaks disrespectfully about David to his messengers. Learning of this, David and his men set out to wipe out Nabal, his family, and all his servants. Filled with anger and vengeance, David is heading straight into some good old-fashioned sinful disobedience. David is wrong for sure. But Nabal—a selfish, foolish, and ignorant man—has brought this upon himself. Folks, this is going to end badly.

Have you ever felt a check in your spirit about the character of a certain spiritual leader? Following the leadership of a trusted pastor, minister, priest or other spiritual leader, can be the most inspiring and encouraging relationship one can have in life? Conversely, following a spiritual leader who turns out to be untrustworthy and self-serving, can be a painful and distressing experience.

Are you ready to go deeper with God and meet with him daily?

As we continue studying Matthew as he joined Jesus, we see that Matthew’s heart was transformed by Jesus. Jesus called him to follow and Matthew began to follow him, immediately. While Jesus is in Capernaum, He publicly casts out a demon in the synagogue, privately heals Peter’s mother-in-law, and publicly cast out demons and healed everyone in the village who was sick. Matthew tells us that these events in Capernaum were done to fulfill what Isaiah the prophet wrote. We're continuing the study of the book of Luke, and Jesus’ acts of healing. The day that started with the public casting out of a demon and the private healing of Peter’s mother-in-law set the stage for a healing service. That afternoon, all the people of the village gathered outside of Peter’s home after the word spread about the healing of Peter’s mother-in-law. Psalm 81 reveals God’s love for us and his longing to bless us. He doesn’t merely promise us food, but the sweetness of honey. It also shows us that God wants us to listen and obey Him! He gives us a life sweet like honey, when we seek the Lord and follow his ways.

Psalm 149:4 tells us that the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the afflicted ones with salvation. He loves us! Let's study the Word together to fully understand what His love is like, and what it means for our daily lives.

I’m sharing a story of transformation: my testimony. Even though I have always considered my testimony as boring, I know the power and importance each and every person’s testimony can have.

By studying Jesus’ time on earth, we’ve learned more about our own purpose. When we follow his example, we surrender our ministry and service to God and ask the Spirit of God to produce results. Today we’re studying the power of the Spirit in Jesus’ ministry and in our own!

What is your purpose on Earth? To better understand our purpose, we first need to look to our perfect example - Jesus. By studying the word and learning why He came to Earth, we can understand our greater purpose as well.

What is your purpose on Earth? The words used in the Bible are not fillers. They carry meaning. That’s why I call this adventure we are on a journey of discovery. Today we are continuing this journey, discovering God’s meaning in the Bible and and learning how it can apply to and transform our lives.

The devil seeks to capitalize on our vulnerabilities as fleshly human beings. He adds temptations on top of our natural vulnerabilities to sin. But we can have humble confidence; We have the power and Sovereign protection of God!

In Part 3, we see how Jesus is the perfect example for us. From his baptism, we see what happens to us when we are saved. We are washed clean of our sins; the Holy Spirit comes down and dwells within us and the Father is pleased. These events happened to me at the point of my salvation as a young boy and they happened to you as well if you have received Jesus by faith. And when he is tempted, we see that he is not alone, and we aren't either. The Father is with Him, the Spirit leads Him when the devil tempts Him.

In Part 2, we study the temptations Jesus experienced in the wilderness, as well as the main areas and the process of temptation. And although temptations follow us everywhere because we live in a body of flesh, we have the amazing example Jesus gave us to win and be victorious against temptations.

In Luke 4, Jesus follows the guidance of the Holy Spirit to go into the wilderness to fast and pray. Instead of 40 days of ‘quiet time’ with God, Jesus deals with two fierce forces that he will battle for the balance of his time on earth, which are the same two forces that we deal with as well.

“And a voice came from heaven: 'You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.'" Today as we study the story of Jesus’ baptism, we’ll also rediscover ALL that God has given to us. Jesus grew in favor with God and with man. Today, we're discussing the concept of gaining favor with God and man, so, like Christ, we can increase in wisdom and stature, in favor with God and man. As seen on Living Scripture Daily by Larry Shaffer.

Chapter 2 of Luke tells us that Jesus continued to grow and become strong, increasing in wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him. At age 12, he stayed in Jerusalem, and his parents found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions.
