1 Peter 2:4-12 - Jesus Christ: The Chief Cornerstone - Part 2
In these verses of scripture, Peter describes the status of those who believe in Jesus Christ. Though we are only pilgrims and sojourners in this world, we are living stones being built by God into a spiritual house. We are holy priests and royal priests who offer sacrifices to God. We are a chosen generation and the special people of God, who proclaim His praises, and witness, in the midst of an unbelieving world who mock and persecute us.

1 Peter 1:24 - 2:10 - Jesus Christ: The Chief Corner Stone
In chapter one, Peter describes Jesus as our living hope. Here, in chapter two, he describes our Lord as a living stone who has become the chief cornerstone. Though Jesus was rejected by men, He is chosen and precious to God. To those of us who believe, Jesus is precious, but to those who are disobedient and unbelieving, He is a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense. We too, who are believers in Christ Jesus, are rejected by the world, but we are chosen and precious to God.

1 Peter 1:18-25 - Redeemed by the Precious Blood
Peter encourages the people to rest their hope fully on the Grace that is to be brought to them at the return of Jesus Christ. Therefore, believers should live obedient and holy lives during the time of our stay here, because we were redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. That which is corruptible could never purchase what is incorruptible. So, silver and gold could have never redeemed us. Nor could we be born again of corruptible seed but incorruptible, by the word of God.

Romans 6 - Victory Over Sin
The next three chapters of Romans are very powerful, as they declare what is ours in Christ, in all He accomplished for those of us who believe in Him. Chapter 6 teaches that we have been given victory over the power of sin that has bothered us for years. To experience and comprehend that the power and desire to sin has been diffused from the New Life we’ve received by being born again is miraculous. We need to be taught what actually occurred through Jesus' death burial and resurrection for us and that’s the purpose of Romans chapter 6. May this study transform our hearts and minds to live free from the destructive desire and power of sin.

Romans 5 - Who Is Your Father, Adam Or Jesus?
We all have descended from one lineage, Adam. His sin infected the entire human race. We all sin like he did, proving we all come from the same Father. As a result, we all grow old and eventually die physically. The wages of sin is death. The need to have a second birth must be from a different Father, so our lineage becomes one of righteousness and eternal life. The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. We need a perfect bloodline that is without sin and Jesus' shed blood on the cross is what forgives and makes us perfect now in God’s eyes. Praise God He made a way out of being sentenced to death and hell. He made it possible to have a better life now and throughout eternity. Ask Jesus to forgive you of your sin and to place you in His family. No longer descendants of Adam, but now a Son and Daughter of God!

Romans 5 - Peace With God
Today’s message continues our study in Romans. We see today that we have been granted peace with God through faith in Jesus Christ. Isaiah 48:22 states," There is no peace says the Lord unto the wicked." As we live out our daily lives, do we experience this peace that is ours as believers, or has the world captured our hearts and caused us to lack the peace of God as we are walking after the ways of this fallen world? We have access to God and also have hope that is eternal, yet many of us have lost our way and desperately need a fresh encounter with Christ to receive all that is ours as His children who have received His salvation.

Christ Our Living Hope - Part 3 - 1 Peter 1:10-21
The first nine verses of this epistle, Peter encourages his readers to remain faithful in persecution, by discussing what God has done for them and given them in Christ Jesus. He let them know that between receiving salvation and the return of Jesus Christ, there will be suffering and testing of their faith. Now Peter will talk about living in hope of the return of our Savior. We are not to place our hope in the corruptible, defiled, fading things and people of this world, but we are to rest our hope fully upon the grace this is to be brought to us at the return of Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 1:4-12 - "Christ Our Living Hope" - Part 2
Peter encourages the dispersed Christians to look toward their inheritance which is reserved for them in heaven. Unlike our earthly inheritance, our treasure in heaven is incorruptible, undefiled, and does not fade away. All we have in Christ Jesus is eternal while our life here is temporary. As believers, we should not live for this life, but for the life that is to come.
