The 2023 Read Act, which put into law special state-mandated curriculum for literacy, will transform the way school district teach reading. In 2003, Minnesota eliminated the inflationary rate which completely changed the actual money school districts receive from the state. Although we’ve technically received more funds since then, it hasn't accounted for inflation. We're receiving around $8 million less and that lack of funding is seriously impacting our ability to support students, staff and families.
