It is interesting to me that we have this natural desire to be great, but we naturally do not want to do what it takes to get there. It can be so tempting to say, “well I just don’t know where to start…” – but we have so many examples to follow, main one being JESUS! If it has no value or no purpose… it doesn’t matter. What purpose do you serve?: Your income (money) - Your time (influence) - Your talent (ability) You are serving a purpose… does it matter? Does it have a meaning that is greater than you alone? MATTHEW 23:11-12 The greatest among you will be the one who always serves others from the heart. Remember this: If you have a lofty opinion of yourself & seek to be honored, you will be humbled. But if you have a modest opinion of yourself & choose to humble yourself, you will be honored. The greatest servant was Jesus. He didn’t come to rule. He came to serve. Often, we are looking for the BIG things to happen… BIGGER IS BETTER RIGHT? We look for our dreams to come true, for our prayers to be answered, for our miracle to happen. But one of the biggest mistakes we can make, is to overlook the small. God can do anything all at once, but often – He does His best work in the small. We get impatient with God, & we do not think He is doing enough in us & for us. God often does small things – so that He can bring us along with us… If God gave you all your dreams & gave you everything He intends to bring into your life – you would not be capable of receiving it. We want the big thing, but we are not capable of seeing the GIFT OF THE SMALL. In the season that we are in now! ZECHARIAH 4:10 - Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin… GOD DOES BIG THINGS IN SMALL WAYS! God told Adam & Eve they could eat from all the trees of the garden except one. So, what did the enemy do – he tried to get them to focus on the one they couldn’t have instead of all the ones God had given them. God has called us to an abundance mindset– to see all that we have, while the enemy tries to get us focused on only what we lack. The opposite of fear is not faith - it is love! God wants you to understand WHO He is & how much He loves you...  1 JOHN 4:18 - There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. Did you know, an estimated 8.7 percent of Americans, or 19.2 million people, suffer from a specific phobia? Why is it that we so often name our fears & know them often better than the character & power of our God!?! One of the greatest discoveries a man makes, one of his great surprises, is to find he can do what he was afraid he couldn’t do. - Henry Ford · Fear is a feeling induced by perceived danger or threat that causes a change in metabolic & organ functions & ultimately a change in behavior, such as fleeing, hiding, or freezing from the perceived traumatic events. ISAIAH 43:1 - Don't fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine. • God actually commands us not to fear or worry. • The phrase “fear not” is used at least 80 times in the Bible, most likely because He knows the enemy uses fear to decrease our hope and limit our victories. PHILIPPIANS 4:6-9 - Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need & thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts & minds as you live in Christ Jesus. & now, dear brothers & sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, & honorable, & right, & pure, & lovely, & admirable. Think about things that are excellent & worthy of praise. I had a conversation with my sister this week about leading yourself through something that is super hurtful or a loss or pain at a depth you have never known. & it caused me to begin thinking about this topic. What do you do when you don’t know what to do. You can only lead yourself so much... you can only know so much information. But information & Leadership can only get you so far - so what’s beyond that!!? I told my sister what I have learned is that, “you cannot lead your way through certain things. You must lean your way through it!” Lean into the presence of God... that is sometimes the only answer- because He has all the answers.

We have a part to play in the promises of God - BELIEF. If you can get there on your own, WHY DO YOU NEED GOD?!? He will make a way when there seems to be no way. Sometimes we water down the promise of God, so that it makes sense to us. We bring the level down so that we can feel good about what is possible. BUT GOD DOESN’T WORK OR EXIST OR WANT US TO LIVE IN WHAT IS POSSIBLE. HE LIVES IN IMPOSSIBILITY.  We look at life at a natural viewpoint, but God doesn’t exist in the natural. August 1st has been such a special day for me for years. This date is just 2 days after my 1st husband left - which seems like it would be a horrible week each year. This is part 2 of the previous leadership discussion I had with my dad. In this episode me & my dad continue to talk about how to be positive in negative situations. 

Too much of my generation is caught up in politics... We want to know things like: What party do you represent? Are you conservative or liberal? Who did you vote for in the last election? & who are you going to vote for? WE HAVE IT ALL WRONG... yes it’s important to be informed & contribute as an American. But have you ever thought: Where are you getting your information...? Who says one party is better or worse? & why do we decide we can’t be nice to people who believe differently than us? There’s no such thing as an overnight success. We get so frustrated in life when we see other people succeeding because we don’t seem to be successful in a moment or area… But sometimes your process & your pain is leading you to your purpose, it’s developing, maturing, & preparing you for the success that God wants you to have! God has a great life for you! & He has great plans for you but we often give up or get frustrated in the process or we don’t involve Him like we should - go get it!

I sat down with my dad - KEITH CRAFT in a 3 part series, talking about how you can be positive in a negative situation. We get real & talk in-depth about many things that I believe can help encourage you in your life!

We are all preparing for something. Many of us are underprepared & we know it... So, what does your preparation process look like & how do you GET ready for all that God has for you?  2 TIMOTHY 4:2 - "preach the word [as an official messenger]; be ready when the time is right and even when it is not [keep your sense of urgency, whether the opportunity seems favorable or unfavorable, whether convenient or inconvenient, whether welcome or unwelcome]; correct [those who err in doctrine or behavior], warn [those who sin], exhort and encourage [those who are growing toward spiritual maturity], with inexhaustible patience and [faithful] teaching."  What this verse is really saying is - LIVE READY TO BE USED BY GOD! 

I am Judas. How many times have I betrayed Jesus… pledging my loyalty to Him in one moment & then in the next selling Him out for the sake of what I want in the moment?  How many times have I plotted for my way & chose to not surrender to God – I was selling out for what I wanted more than Jesus?  How many times have I rejected Him? How many times have I betrayed Him? - The answer is daily. I know what He has done for me, & yet the list of ways I sell out is long.  I consciously resort to my way of thinking, acting, & being - I choose anger, or envy, or I hold grudges. I knowingly choose to turn toward (MY WAY) - sin & away from Jesus. & I wonder how Jesus could still love Judas & I wonder how He could still love me. Judas’ sin was betraying Jesus. Judas knew of Jesus’ great love, he knew of his power & compassion, & yet Judas betrayed Jesus, & caused his death. & I am Judas. In fact, you are Judas, too. Every time we fail to love as Jesus has loved us, we betray him. I am Judas.  Every time we allow people to suffer, we betray him. I am Judas.  Every time we choose our self-interests & pride instead of the good of everyone around us, we betray him. I am Judas.  Every time we react in anger & hatred, we betray him. I am Judas. There is something right now that God has for you, there is something right now that God is developing inside of you - there is something right now that God wants you to see... & if we are so focused on what’s next, if were are too focused on what is ahead, & if we're so focused on what we want that is not happening in the moment - you’re never going to get the opportunity to receive from what’s happening & what possibilities you have right now. Hearing something, does not mean that you are or know how to apply what you have heard. Action is so important to seeing results. God responds to our action... too many people KNOW or have HEARD something - but they do not KNOW IT ENOUGH TO LIVE WHAT THEY KNOW.  Do not just be a hearer - be a DOER! James 1:22-25  -  Don’t just listen to the word. You fool yourselves if you do that. You must do what it says.  Suppose someone listens to the word but doesn’t do what it says. Then they are like a person who looks at their face in a mirror.  After looking at themselves, they leave. And right away they forget what they look like.  But suppose someone takes a good look at the perfect law that gives freedom. And they keep looking at it. Focusing on your problems comes naturally to us. It takes a conscious choice to be focused on what God can do through them. Sometimes it can be very hard to see or perceive how things are not only going to “work out” - but how a problem could ever be something you look back on & see it as something good or beneficial in your life. When you know what you’re fighting for – YOU DO NOT GIVE UP EASY. You have to not only know why you are fighting - but who you are fighting... I think that to be great - you must make great decisions. You cannot be great & make loser decisions... If you want to be great, start thinking: "does this decision contribute to my greatness?" & if it doesn't - reconsider the choice.   Verses From This Episode:   Matthew 7:13-14 - Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.  Proverbs 14:12 - There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.  Proverbs 19:21 - Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.  Proverbs 16:9 - The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.  Isaiah 30:21 - And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.  Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 - The end of the matter; all has been heard. Some of you have been striving, seeking, working, & trying year after year & you haven’t been able to make things happen the way you want. What if trusting God & waiting was the answer - not working more or harder. As you Trust God - wait & see all that He will do! God can do it faster & a whole lot better than you can. “Those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint.”
