The Walking on Water Podcast

By Lynette Carpenter

The purpose of the Walking on Water Podcast is to encourage and inspire you as women of God, to give you hope and remind you of your value and purpose in life. And above all to discover the power of focusing on Jesus when life is good or bad. My name is Lynette Carpenter and I’ve been married to my husband, Tim, for over twenty five years. Together, we have 4 children and have been involved in teen ministry for most of our married life.

S1 E17 Quick Decisions... with Long Lasting Results

Have you ever stopped to consider the long lasting effects in our lives brought on by choices we’ve made? Some decisions have little effect while others cause a ripple effect that can be felt for years… even generations. It’s kind of a heavy thought. Today, I’m going to tell you about a time a split decision I made left me with a huge mess to clean up. A mess I was reminded of for years to come.

S1 E16 - Letting Go

S1 E16 - Letting Go

Sending our kids off into the world can feel overwhelming and scary. We can feel like Jochebed - placing our babies among the bulrushes of the Nile and praying to God that a crocodile doesn’t find them.

But I’ve been challenged by God over the past weeks to do all that I can to raise my children for the world they live in. To both guide and correct them while knowing when to take my hands off the controls. To empower them. To spend time teaching them the tools they will need to be salt and light in their communities. To remember that I am mothering by the power of the Holy Spirit and my prayers for my children carry weight!

S1 E7 Choosing to Thrive when Life is Hard

Sometimes life's situations and circumstances bring us to a place where we don't want to be. This was the situation Jeremiah was addressing when he wrote those famous words in Jeremiah 29:11. Today, we're going to talk about what it looks like to build, to thrive, to live in our own Babylons. S1 E5 Celebrating Fathers - A Conversation with Tim Part 1

With Father's Day coming up, I thought it would be a good time to discuss the role of a father as is is often overlooked and underrated. Today, I invite my husband, Tim, to a conversation about what fatherhood has meant to him, his goals as a father and a few stories of how fatherhood had impacted his life.
