El Goonish Shive is intrinsically hopeful, and that makes its representation of trauma and healing particularly compelling. Grace was a well-written victim of abuse right from the very start, and watching her grow and develop as the webcomic evolved has been extremely meaningful for us. "Catnip" is one of my favorite little El Goonish Shive arcs. Released all the way back in 2002, it sets up the relationship between Grace and Tedd in the only way it could: with gratuitous furry transformation sequences! Fox and I decided to discuss this little storyline in depth, and the results are a lot of fun. Of course, we also talk about recent updates as Elliot almost killed a Griffin, and we hit a lot of sidetracks regarding Grace' backstory, Tedd's seer status, and more!
