Alpha Stoic

A Stoic does not use ad hominem attacks because it is beneath them to do so. An ad hominem attack is an attack on someone's character and not the issue at hand. What a less intelligent person will do is refer to a persons' appearance, their past, in order to disregard a current argument. In fact, the person that uses these terminologies are less intelligent because they have nothing to add to a conversation except stupid insults. They in fact want to close it down because they have reached the limit of their understanding and cannot go on any further intellectually.

“I am damaged” is a phrase some people used to express their frustration after failed romantic relationships. However, when a person uses this phrase and actually believes it they set themselves up for failure, do they not? Let’s take a look at the alternatives.

Your human experience begins and ends with a question mark. To know the answer to that question, You would be willing to do anything and even enslave yourself to concepts and people who claim to know that answer. For the sake of argument, we will call them “Posers” in this article and help you to conceptualize the concepts.

In this letter, I would like to address “fear”. There seems to be an “instinctual fear” and a “learned fear” does there not? For example, I presume that we are born without fear. I do not believe a baby is in fear of being hungry, I believe they are pissed because of hunger pains and that this is what makes them cry.

So my friend is teaching his children that success is being able to afford more material possessions than the people that he surrounds himself with. Is this poison? Of course it is, but humor me with this failed reasoning.

Embarrassment is weakness, dangerous, senseless, and pointless. It will keep you from doing meaningful things in your life. A person who gets embarrassed easily will not ask for help when they need it. Shy people are comfortable in their box, never straying too far from what makes them feel content.

When you see with no eyes

Have we have become so arrogant to conclude that if we cannot observe something, then it must not exist? As if the entire existence of the universe depends upon our observation. If we cannot observe it, many then conclude that it must be dead or non-existent.

If you are blaming someone else for the way you feel, then you are the problem, not them.

I wish to write to you about the illusional concept of your birth and death. Please understand that the concept of individualism is misleading because we are all part of a whole. To believe that you are an “individual” that sustains itself is just silly. Every piece is very important. Some state that if one molecule was missing, then the entire universe would collapse. Instead of thinking of everything in “Birth and Death” concepts, think of them as always changing. Think of them as all parts of a whole that come from everlasting and go to everlasting. The reality is there is no beginning and there is no end.

The genuine liar only lies to themselves. The genuine cheater only cheats themselves. The violator only violates themselves. To fool someone is only to fool yourself. The deceiver only deceives themselves. The rapist rapes themselves. You should never feel robbed when someone manifests undesirable characteristics because they do it to themselves.

This is a story about my future wife by divine providence however, she is already my wife. She does not have to guess my thoughts because she knows them. To call her a queen would be an insult the more appropriate term would be goddess and she feels comfortable being called that by me. I am already hers and she is already mine.

Is it really possible to give good relationship advice that covers every person? No, of course not. Many like me are single, happy and fulfilled. Recently I found myself in a new situation, my baby boy turned 18 and is now a legal adult. Legally I have no one to care for other than myself and that is an insane feeling to me. Now, for the first time since I have been a teenager, I find myself in this situation.

You are now in the belly of your mother and your father informed me last week I am to be your godfather. I cannot tell you how happy that makes me. Second to your mother, father and family, I get to help teach you things. I'm very excited about it and pretty soon you will come into this world from another world.

I do not do things to be thanked, appreciated, or recognized I do things because I believe in them. I have all necessities and I am free of desire, this makes me untouchable and rich.

Pain is a teacher, isn’t it? I tell you my sons that comfort is the enemy, but why? I once heard a fitness instructor say, “It’s going to hurt a little now but a lot more later!”. Isn’t this the truth? When a person is a “friend of comfort”, it becomes their only priority in life and they fail to see value in a little pain.

Someone once said, “In order for there to be betrayal, there must first be trust.” Betrayal is the opposite of faithfulness, isn’t it? Let’s work this backwards, who is responsible for the betrayal, the one doing the betraying or the one that trusted the betrayer?

You’ve heard the saying it’s like comparing Apples to Oranges. Isn’t this a beautiful saying? Think about it, there are things that are neither right nor wrong but just different. Isn’t this the way with men and women?

Empathy is an extraordinary ability only compassionate people possess. The difference between empathy and pity is that an empathetic person will feel the pain of another whereas one that pity’s people is only thankful they do not suffer like the rest.

Interestingly enough, some see themselves as strong because they have lost their religion. Some view it as "Growing Up", giving up the childhood fairytales and becoming "intelligent" or "enlightened". There is a justification in their minds mainly because of their "education" or "indoctrination" they received in the secular world with all its political biases added.

Is this a trustworthy decision, and is it smart to exchange your entire paradigm on the chance that the foundation of faith that you have built is flawed? Are atheist really independently strong, or are they depending on a network of supporters much like theist do? Is Atheism a religion in itself?

To be afraid or not be afraid, that is the question. Many Atheist accuse Theist of letting fear get the best of them when it comes to seeking the truth. They refer to the fact that we all have to die and they further claim that Christian’s are making up fables to comfort themselves. Besides that, they further claim Christian’s are doing greater damage by passing it off as truth when it is all fictional.

We are social creatures, are we not? With that leads to downfall as well because we are constantly trying to impress someone else. My grandparents called people who like to impress others “Show Offs”. While raising my children I heard, “Hey Dad, look what I can do!” quite a few times. So it is natural for us to be impressed, impress ourselves and impress others.

Understand the concept of being “Stoic”; We do not worry about the “Inevitable” we deal with what we have control over at this very moment, right now.

Marcus Aurelius did not appreciate the theatrics of some people. It turned him off so to speak so that when commenting about Christians he remarked that he did not appreciate their theatrics. Even though I am a Christian and a devout believer in Jesus Christ as Lord and King of the Universe I too do not appreciate or value the theatrics people display weather they are Christians or not. I believe it cheapens the message and individual so to speak therefore, let me elaborate.

I want to discuss with you a situation that may assume at times “The Ontological Argument”. The ontological argument is the argument that assumes God exists. Now, weather God exists in one particular form or another does not matter, you still have a life to live. However there are several situations that arise from time to time that infer the existence of a higher consciousness. Instead of dogmatically refusing to believe and skeptically destroying oneself it may be wise to explore the inference. What do you really have to be afraid of anyway? It will not change your circumstances one way or another because what is, simply is.

My twilight hour seems to come between 2 A. M. and 5 A. M. at any time during those hours I am given strange dreams. I do not share them all but some of them I write down in my notebooks. This morning my dream showed that I was embracing a skeleton. It was kind of strange because never before had I embraced a skeleton and the thought is kind of morbid to me while awake. However, while I was dreaming I felt so comfortable embracing this skeleton. I rubbed my fingers across its skull then touched the spinal column and was so intrigued that my curiosity was on fire. I then had a thought, who was this skeleton that I was embracing? The answer came out of the Universe and to my surprise told me that it was me!

Honestly, did you think your entire life was going to be peaches and cream? When I was 16 I was trying to fit in. What kind of music should I listen too? What girls should I like and why? What should my attire be made of? How do I know if someone is a bull shitter or sincere? What kind of friends should I have or should I accept anyone as a friend? And that was just the beginning of my confusion.

I once read that a man said, “Until I expire I shall not take away my integrity from myself.” I gave this much thought when I was younger but did not get the sense of it. It sounded like a powerful statement. Now let me try to attempt to explain it to you my sons. There may be things that happen in your life that will test your fortitude, your faith & what you believe in. If it is not some skeptic trying to convince you of agnostic or atheism then it is a circumstance that you may have to endure.

Abnormal things are wonderful because they blow apart the mechanistic paradigm that culturally indoctrinates us all even without us realizing what is happening to us. There is no doubt strange things exist but what is even stranger is the hard core skeptics that make fools of themselves explaining strange things in a mechanistic way.
