Badge #6.5, Wayzata's First SAR Dog!
The Wayzata Police Department is implementing a new K9 Program! The first phase of this includes welcoming Sergeant Jason Gehrman’s dog, Loki, an 18 month old Belgian Malinois.
Loki is the only on duty search and rescue dog with a police department in the state of Minnesota and is specifically trained in tracking and trailing for a specific live scent. He has been specially trained over a vast period of time in order to intake a specifics person’s scent, in which he was in contact with, and locate the subsequent scent trail left by that individual.
