Short Bio : Serge Stroobants is the Director of Europe and the MENA region at the Institute for Economics and Peace. His academic specialization is in political sciences, international relations, security and defence, global risk analysis, foresight and crisis management. He holds degrees from the Belgian Royal Military Academy, the Free University of Brussels, Université Jean Moulin Lyon III (France), the German General Staff College and Vesalius College.

This is a reading of an article from my recent book "Sustainability Governance in a post-globalised world", Apple Books, 2019 , books.apple.com/us/book/sustainability-governance-in-a-post-globalized-world/id1450842371 .
The article is entitled "Brain Drain vs. Brain Gain : Education is key to improving employability and to national competitiveness."
This reading ties in nicely with our panel on Geoeconomic Challenges and Investment in a post-COVID economy on September 28, 2021 at our seminar, "Vision Méditerranée 2022" : trocaderoforum.com/vision-mediterranee-2022/ .

Questions :

1.  What are China's objectives in the Indian Ocean and how is it realizing them?

2. How does this affect Sino-Iranian relations,  specifically is there a deal between Beijing and Tehran similar to what was announced last summer with massive Chinese investments and a base in Iran and what would be the implications of this outcome?

3 To what degree to we see Sino-Russian collaboration here and if we do how does it manifest itself?
