Voices with Jen (part 2)
On today's episode, we get to know Jen, a Madonna fan who talks about her experience of living with OCD, how programs, services and family have helped her, and shares about her life during COVID19.
Jen had this to share about her OCD:
"This is the best way I can explain my OCD....I have been stressed the last couple of days and as a result my OCD surfaces in weird ways....sometimes my OCD comes in the form of intrusive thoughts.....this time it comes in the form of flawed objects....the other day I found a flaw in one of my blankets...it was ripped on one side....something like this causes me great anxiety....so I took the blanket off and put another one on....I have been checking that one about 50 times and pulling on it each time because I am convinced this one is wrecked too....I phoned my mom in tears because the thoughts of my flawed blankets are driving me crazy.....all though I am sure in the future I will laugh at it as something funny but when I am in the midst of it it's time consuming and anxiety ridden...the process of rechecking and changing my bedding so its perfect is the vicious circle of my day.....I just wanted to put out there what OCD and the vicious circle can be like....much love"
