Dr. Joseph Rosado, MD is one of the world’s most respected medical authorities on cannabis as plant-based medicine. With over four decades of experience as a healthcare professional, he has built a career anchored in family tradition and driven by a desire to help his patients and community. Dr. Rosado's father was an x-ray technician before his untimely death in 1973. Losing his father spurred Dr. Rosado to start working at a young age to help support his family. He trained as a certified nurse’s assistant, then known as an orderly, and began working in the medical field in 1978 at age 16. After high school, Dr. Rosado trained as an emergency medical technician, paramedic, and catheterization laboratory technician while working his way through college.

A major car accident led Dr. Rosado to the field of chiropractic. After a chiropractor alleviated his agonizing back pain in just a few weeks of care, Dr. Rosado decided to explore the complementary medicine system. As a chiropractor, Dr. Rosado dedicated his practice to helping underserved communities, particularly those for whom English was a second language, ensuring that each patient received the highest quality of care that he could provide. At the age of 35, Dr. Rosado entered medical school and was a top student while working his way through school as a husband and father. In medical school, he studied marijuana and determined that potential health and wellness benefits could be extracted from the plant.

As a student and newly certified physician, Dr. Rosado worked throughout the Latin American Diaspora, setting up a clinic in Costa Rica, serving as a team doctor for the country’s Olympic teams. In 2014, Dr. Rosado added his considerable professional expertise to the frontlines of Florida’s push for medical marijuana. One of the state’s first doctors advocating for medical cannabis, in 2016, Dr. Rosado also had the distinction of being the first Central Florida physician to recommend medical marijuana for an adult patient, as well as the first to recommend it for a patient under the age of 18. As a clinician he has worked with thousands of patients, from toddlers to the elderly, recommending medical cannabis and managing treatment.

In 2003 Al Graham was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease which turned a five minute walk around his block into a two hour event. After a few years of re-organizing his life, Al turned the diagnosis into a positive by educating people on cannabis, which he had begun using. Al founded and hosts the People Advocating Cannabis Education (PACE) Radio Show in 2013 and the PACE Radio Network in 2019. He has been a writer for Treating Yourself Magazine, Cannabis Digest and was the publisher of the PACE publication 'Grassroots Advocate.' He has educated people on the medicinal properties of marijuana at national events across Canada, and in small cafes in small towns, and his content is free.

Jason Straw is a retired U.S. Air Force trauma nurse who served two tours in Afghanistan as a Critical Care Charge Nurse and Critical Care Air Transport nurse. Jason's teams specialized in rescuing and providing critical medical attention to Special Operations Teams in high risk combat zones. Since retiring from the USAF, Jason has dealt with health and medical issues and found cannabis to provide profound relief, peace and sense of well being where prescription drugs failed. Unfortunately, at the time of this recording, Jason and his family were medical marijuana refugees, forced to live in Michigan where medical and recreational marijuana is legal. Since 2021, Jason has been the Indiana Chair of the National Organization for the Reformation of Marijuana Laws (NORML). Jason's story is truly encouraging.

Joel Farrell has worked in mortgage lending for two decades and, after learning career and life lessons along the way, he has committed his efforts to helping people attain homeownership. To increase his reach, he launched the Strive For 25 podcast and has been interviewing entrepreneurs across the United States, shining a light on the success stories of people. He and his wife have twin boys that she delivered shortly before the pandemic lockdown in 2020, raising newborns in lockdown was weird and Joel speaks to this and more with Miguel.

Thuy Diep started on the sales floor of a beauty company and at the time of this recording in 2021 she was an Education Executive for CHANEL Beauty North America. For Thuy, beauty has always been something deeper than the surface appearance of a person. Jay Naidoo is a Grandfather and an Elder of South Africa, but he is primarily a freedom fighter who was invited to serve in the inaugural cabinet of South African President, Nelson Mandela. Jay was the founding General Secretary of the Congress of South African Trade Unions, launched in 1985 which became a backbone of the struggle for workers' rights and a key part of the liberation movement fighting apartheid. He served three terms and then was elected to lead the efforts on co-creating a post-apartheid framework of action to address the socio-economic legacy of apartheid. Jay was then appointed by President Nelson Mandela as the Minister Without Portfolio, responsible for the Reconstruction and Development Program, in the Office of the President. In 1996, he was appointed as the Minister of Communications. Jay Naidoo is dedicated to human rights and leaving behind a better world for his grand children.

Myrna Gillis, QC is the CEO and co-founder of Aqualitas, a vertically integrated multi-cannabis license holder and producer of organically grown cannabis and value-added products distributed domestically and internationally. She is a disabilities advocate, and practiced law in the vulnerable services sector for 25 years before joining the cannabis industry in 2014. Motivated by a desire to promote access to medical cannabis, through research, innovation and sustainability she has led her team to highlights including Grow Up’s 2021 Innovation Technology Award, Canada’s 2020 Grower of the Year, a Spark Innovation Award, and Clean Tech Energy Award for cultivation, as well 16 Canadian provincial and federal research grants. Owen Smith possesses a wide range of cannabis industry subject matter expertise based on two decades of working with patients, advocates, dispensaries, non-profits, producers and processors as well as one of the worlds largest cannabis corporations. Lucie Pagé is a French Canadian journalist, writer and speaker sharing her life between Canada and South Africa since 1990. When Nelson Mandela was released from a South African prison, she went to South Africa and did 10 television documentaries, interviewed a host of political actors including Nelson Mandela and her now husband, Jayaseelan "Jay" Naidoo, who was the General Secretary of the Congress of South African Trade Unions and became Minister in Mandela’s cabinet. Lucie wrote eight books, published hundreds of articles and did many radio and television documentaries. Robert Frid is a retired Canadian Hockey League Enforcer & he is a walking miracle. The primary job of a Hockey Enforcer is fighting, and with fighting come concussions and brain injuries. Playing hockey from childhood, Rob has been diagnosed with a list of brain injuries & diseases and he has been through many treatments, including cannabis which has profoundly increased his quality of life. As a teenager, Rob joined major Canadian junior hockey club, The London Knights. A few years later, at the age of 19, he was invited to the St Louis Blues Training Camp.

Yes, Dianne Ballam was a sitting judge at the time of this recording in December 2021. She has since retired. However, in 2015 she suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI) in a motor vehicle accident. As a result, she was on long term disability until 2021 when she passed all tests and requirements authorizing her return to the bench. On the advice of a trusted friend, Dianne finally gave cannabis a chance to help her TBI recovery and she is now a cannabis advocate, and her story is one of humanitarian service intertwined with destiny. Dianne’s curriculum vitae is rich with perseverance and purpose, and she is not done.

He has developed more than 130 license applications for companies entering the legal cannabis industry. Ted Smith founded the Victoria Cannabis Buyers Club in January of 1996, the oldest medical cannabis dispensary in Canada, now with over 8,500 members. Ted has successfully advocated human rights for decades and he played a large role in Canada's legalization of marijuana. He is the author of HEMPOLOGY 101: THE HISTORY AND USES OF CANNABIS SATIVA and he was the publisher of the Cannabis Digest newspaper, Canada’s largest publication on the subject for almost 10 years. Seen in the movie, Kid Cannabis, he has organized cannabis conventions across the country, coordinating or participating in approximately 3,800 rallies, meetings, press conferences and other events.

Brendon Roberts brings over 20 years of progressive horticulture experience throughout North America, Latin America, and the Caribbean region and he is the Founder and Director of GanjaPapa Solutions. Brendon played a leading role in Canada's forest renewal programs by growing over 20 million trees annually, in collaboration with federal and provincial governments and private forest companies in Ontario, Canada.

A former secondary school agricultural science teacher within the Ministry of Education, Brendon has held senior management positions at many cannabis organizations including Vida Cannabis, Zenabis Global, BZAM Management & Nymera Holdings. Moriah Barnhart is a Native Floridian whose daughter was diagnosed with brain cancer at the age of two in 2013. Her daughter was struggling to survive chemotherapy, which compelled Moriah to seek help from experts with cannabis. As a result, Moriah Co-Founded CannaMoms to provide a support system for other parents like herself and to organize their stories to change voters hearts and minds about the medical efficacy of marijuana. After the State of Florida passed a Medical Marijuana Program, she was appointed to the Florida Department of Agriculture Hemp and Medical Marijuana Advisory Boards, respectively. She wrote Florida’s first CME program for physicians and continued to work on legislative policy reform, Co-Founding a new non-profit with a broader mission toward ending prohibition in early 2021, the Women's Initiative for a Safe and Equitable (WISE) Florida. Trent Hancock is the head breeder for Creswell Oreganics and an owner in Crater Enterprises. In 1998 he started indoor growing in Portland’s legendary cannabis community and went on to build his first commercial grow in Montana in 2008. Trent spent the next eight years in Montana consulting the largest indoor cannabis facilities in the country at the time, prior to Colorado 2014. Realizing that large scale commercial grows had bug and mold problems that were nearly impossible to control without spraying flowering plants, he started developing a controlled air system that prevented the need for spraying.

In 2014, Trent teamed up with Shayney Norick and her medical cannabis company in Montana. Robert Kowalski served in the U.S. Air Force as a Security Forces member from 2006-2011, which included two combat deployments to Iraq. Since becoming a medical cannabis patient, Robert has committed his efforts to help veterans access cannabis at state, federal, and international levels of government. Dr Joseph Rosado, MD is one of the world’s most respected medical authorities on cannabis as plant-based medicine. With over four decades of experience as a healthcare professional, he has built a career anchored in family tradition and driven by a desire to help his patients and community. Dr. Rosado's father was an x-ray technician before his untimely death in 1973. Losing his father spurred Dr. Rosado to start working at a young age to help support his family. He trained as a certified nurse’s assistant, then known as an orderly, and began working in the medical field in 1978 at age 16. After high school, Dr. Rosado trained as an emergency medical technician, paramedic, and catheterization laboratory technician while working his way through college. A major car accident led Dr. Rosado to the field of chiropractic. After a chiropractor alleviated his agonizing back pain in just a few weeks of care, Dr. Rosado decided to explore the complementary medicine system. As a chiropractor, Dr. Rosado dedicated his practice to helping underserved communities, particularly those for whom English was a second language, ensuring that each patient received the highest quality of care that he could provide. 

At the age of 35, Dr. Rosado entered medical school and was a top student while working his way through school as a husband and father. In medical school, he studied marijuana and determined that potential health and wellness benefits could be extracted from the plant. As a student and newly certified physician, Dr. Rosado worked throughout the Latin American Diaspora, setting up a clinic in Costa Rica, serving as a team doctor for the country’s Olympic teams. In 2014, Dr. Rosado added his considerable professional expertise to the frontlines of Florida’s push for medical marijuana. Christopher Cano is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where his military career was unfortunately cut short by a knee injury. Chris matriculated to the University of South Florida where he continued his public service, interning in the Florida House of Representatives and later seeking to represent his community in public office as a state representative. Chris was an organizer for Charlie Crist for Governor in 2014, United for Care’s Medical Marijuana Amendment campaign in 2015, and oversaw a successful field campaign for the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s race in 2016. Today Christopher spends his days working as a labor organizer for the Service Employees International Union building faculty unions for college professors around the country. Yet, the reason most people know him is his advocacy work as a founder of the Florida Suncoast Chapter for the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML).

Abel Carrasco was born, raised and currently resides in the Tampa Bay area. He and Miguel have a good time while talking about some topics of weight. A product of K-12 Catholic school, Abel is now between being agnostic and atheist. 

Jason Straw, retired U.S. Air Force (USAF) trauma nurse, served two tours in Afghanistan as a Critical Care Charge Nurse and Critical Care Air Transport (CCAT) nurse. Jason's teams specialized in rescuing and providing critical medical attention to Special Operations Teams in high risk combat zones. Since retiring from the USAF, Jason has dealt with health/medical issues and found cannabis to provide profound relief, peace and sense of well being where prescription drugs failed. Unfortunately, at the time of this recording, Jason and his family are medical marijuana refugees, forced to live in Michigan where medical and recreational marijuana is legal. Since 2021, Jason has been the Indiana Chair of the National Organization for the Reformation of Marijuana Laws (NORML). Jason's story is truly astounding and will be more than what you are imagining from this reading.

Matthew is a Registered Nurse and Certified Cannabis Therapy Educator with Canada House, a veteran founded cannabis clinic. While seeking help for PTSD, Matthew found prescription medications unable to help him in a meaningful way, this was when he was introduced to marijuana. Using marijuana, Matthew came off PTSD medications and has dedicated his life to helping others with plant medicine. Matthew is also on a personal psychedelic journey and he talks to Miguel about some conclusions he has come to, as well as areas he seeks to explore.  

In separate events, Jeremy Smith and his son had near death experiences from the side effects of prescription medications. Unfortunately, both are still struggling with health issues as of this recording, which is why Jeremy is a cannabis advocate. Coming from generations of Canadian law enforcement officers, Jeremy graduated Police Foundations while building his body from 6' 2" and 120 pounds to over 200 pounds. Having worked with senior citizens in the health care industry, Jeremy has come to understand the positive impact marijuana can have on humans as we age. This is what inspired him to launch Les Munchies, a cannabis infused food service that has not been fully regulated in Canada's hospitality industry. As a board member of the Canadian Cannabis Tourism Alliance, Jeremy meets with elected officials to further educate them on the desires of the Canadian population to expand its nations tourism capacity with cannabis.

Cathy is a Registered ISO 9000 Consultant with over 30 years experience in the design, implementation, maintenance and auditing of Quality Management and Competency Based Training systems. She has worked in the pharmaceutical, medical, nuclear, aerospace, manufacturing and government sectors to name a few. As a long-time advocate of cannabis, it was a natural transition to bring her quality knowledge and training design experience to the cannabis sector. Cathy is passionate about educating people on the medicinal benefits of the marijuana plant. Since October of 2017, Cathy has been the Director – Quality, Operations & Human Resources at Legacy 420, which is an Indigenous Medical Cannabis company located on Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, located about 2.5 hours east of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Robert is the President of Blue Cord Farms and Founder of Hemp For Victory. As a veteran of the Iraq War, Robert is familiar with and experienced the hardships of PTSD and the unwanted grip that pills and booze can have on veterans and all people. In 2016 he found that cannabis could not only help him get off the pills and booze, it also increased his overall well-being. This is what drives his passion for the marijuana plant. Robert has experienced the fact that cannabis can help people struggling with PTSD get their life back. In launching Blue Cord Farms and Hemp For Victory, Robert aims to help vets and citizens reduce dependence on pills and booze, and Robert is succeeding in his mission.

The bread and wine of communion are first mentioned in the biblical book Genesis as Abram returns with the King of Sodom from defeating invading nations and rescuing Abram's nephew Lot and his family. As Abram is returning to his land, Melchizedek king of Salem presents Abram with bread and wine and says to him, "Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; and blessed be God Most High, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand." It was a one-to-one interaction. There was no requirement for a third "qualified" human to anoint, bless or make right the bread and wine. Jesus reinforced this personal relationship in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke. John records another story of how Jesus presented communion to those who were following Him. Communion is a gift.  

Dmitry Ostrovtsev is the CEO and Founder of premium cannabis-related brand, Ceremony. Graduating from a pedagogical university in Moscow, Russia, Dmitry dipped into digital marketing for more than 10 years where he developed into a Commercial Director, eventually launching his own digital project. Dmitry used his life experiences, training and personal beliefs of what life is and means to develop Ceremony, which is what he calls, "...the quintessence of my pedagogical and marketing background." Dmitry is also working towards expanding his brand into an ecosystem that will have both hard products (premium crystal bongs and accessories) and social projects like cannabis retreats, special lounges and art exhibitions. Joshua David Linney is a Florida native, U.S. Army Veteran, prescription drug addiction survivor and Founder and Chairman of Carma Corps, a nonprofit 501(c)3 that uses hemp to help veterans, or anyone suffering from post traumatic stress disorder, come off prescription drug addictions. With the intent to help people become self-sufficient, Carma Corps also provides training on how to own and operate a small business. Joshua served in Operation Vigilant Warrior and he is an alumni of The University of Central Florida.

Brian Kelly has participated in the cannabis industry for over 25 years. He credits Jack Herer's book, The Emperor Wears No Clothes and cannabis with saving his life when he was 17 because cannabis provided Brian with a way to find balance in his heart and mind.  Brian moved to California from Chicago, Illinois where he was the self-proclaimed best weed dealer in the history of mankind. While participating in the legacy/traditional cannabis market in Chicago, he mostly sold the cannabis his Mother grew and always had 3-4 strains available to a long line of loyal clients. For Brian, hustling in the cannabis space is a dream come true and he is about to bloom with Mrs. Kelly’s Cannabis.

Mary followed her first culinary recipe when she was eight years old, the recipe was brought to her by her childhood friend next door. That was the same year she got her first Betty Crocker yellow and white striped Kids Cook Book, and her love of everything food was born. Throughout her childhood Mary's mom, aunts, relatives and friends shared their stories of family around a table of food they prepared.  Before graduating high school she toyed with the idea of culinary school but there were very few female chefs at that time and the school she knew about was in Paris, and Mary did not speak French.  So she majored in History and earned a Master’s degree, teaching for more than 10 years. 

No matter where life seemed to take her, Mary was always drawn back to food and eventually owned a wholesale bakery taking care of mom and pop sandwich shops in local office buildings, which led to her finally going to culinary school, a little later in life than most of her fellow students, but she was loving the thrill of new recipes and methodology. The primary job of a Hockey Enforcer is fighting, and with fighting come concussions and brain injuries. Robert Frid is a retired Canadian Hockey League Enforcer & he is a walking miracle. With a list of diagnosed brain injuries & diseases, Rob has been through many treatments, including cannabis which has profoundly increased his quality of life.       Rob is also transitioning off long-term government disability due to his concussion history from hockey. Horace studied the Science of Alternative and Integrative Medicine and set out on a journey to learn what causes illness and how to rid one's body of causative factors. Mindset is the first step. Horace has observed that many of us are not enjoying the health our bodies are designed to experience. Stress, low hydration and too much caffeine to stimulate us into action can be very hard on the human adrenal glands, which alters moods and quality of life. Sometimes convenience does more harm than good, and when this happens it is time to reset the Mind and take inventory of what is going into not only our stomachs but our eyes and ears. Jessica Gonzalez is a Mother on a mission! After cannabis significantly improved her life from years of prescription drug and alcohol abuse, Jessica created a cannabis infused "Neighborhood" via her Instagram page @themommyjane where she shares her life as a mom and entrepreneur in the cannabis industry. Jessica truly believes cannabis saved her life, and loves inspiring her "Neighbors" to become advocates of their own health and wellness often sharing ways to consume more mindfully and live more consciously, focusing on the fact that cannabis education, like everything, starts at home. Rahman Shareef is a native of East Lansing, Michigan & a current resident of Detroit, Michigan. Rahman works as a business & community services professional, & by faith he is Muslim. Faith, knowledge, self determination, & self motivation to overcome the obstacles life presents are the principles Rahman has embraced & grown into. He had the unique experience of becoming a father at the young age of 17 while in high school, & married for the first time at 19. From being a young parent, marrying early in life, then divorced & remarried all while working two jobs & completing college degrees, Rahman knows a lot about life’s joys and pains. As the Director of Social Equity and Inclusion, Tahir advances MPP’s mission of achieving social justice for those impacted by cannabis prohibition. With a focus on licensing equity, he develops educational resources for industry stakeholders and heads an accountability task force to support members’ equity program goals.

Prior to joining MPP, Tahir was the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Manager at the National Cannabis Industry Association. A skilled networker, Tahir also has extensive hands-on industry experience in the retail sector as a medical cannabis patient counselor and has applied for business licenses in both Maryland and New Jersey. Before he pursued his passion for supporting the cannabis community, he worked as a financial advisor and served on the diversity council of Morgan Stanley.

Tahir attended Howard University, where he majored in marketing. He also holds a Marijuana Master Certificate from the Cannabis Training University and a certification in Indoor Horticulture from Oaksterdam University. Outside of work, he produces and hosts the podcast, Cannabis Diversity Report, and enjoys spending time with his two daughters.

For the first time in a long time, at this church for the homeless, I could be who I am while I sat and listened to the pastor's message. Then we transition to C.S. Lewis' book, 'Mere Christianity' and chapter one's 'Law of Human Nature.' From here, we move to different types of fear and how many scripture translations should have used the word 'awe' instead of fear. Why? Because throughout scripture men and women prostrated themselves in the presence of angelic beings, and Jesus Himself, and their response to humans was, "Do not be afraid." Obviously, the fear these humans felt was not where the Angels and Jesus wanted them to stay, because close on the heels of fear is hate.

In March of 2016, Daphne's 20 year old daughter, Gloria, suffered psychosis side-effects from a commonly prescribed medication. When the side effects did not wane, doctors prescribed anti-psychotic medications to treat Gloria. The medications caused Gloria to quickly worsen, & complications were compounded when medical professionals tapered Gloria off the medications too quickly. As a result, Daphne & her family endured two years of daily psychotic episodes just to ween her off of the prescribed medications. Could cannabis improve Gloria's health & quality of life? She used cannabis because it helped her connect with customers on the salesfloor, and her sales were at or near the top. She spent a bit of her early childhood attending church at a Christian denomination but has not associated with organized religion since. She believes a higher power exists and she has an inescapable internal motivation to help people. A beautiful woman, an executive in the beauty industry and she believes there is deeper value in people than the external.

Jim spent a bulk of his life in the financial services sector raising over $100m for companies; then, he spent 30 months in a federal prison camp for wire fraud. But was Jim set up by federal law enforcement? His work now consists of proving he was. Jim's outlook while in prison is surprisingly positive! While incarcerated, he used time instead of allowing apathy to use him. He interviewed inmates and found many of them to be in prison for marijuana. He and his wife attend a Lutheran Church, they do not use marijuana but they know many people who do and have witnessed its positive impact on people suffering from physical pain and psychological challenges.  

Moses' biological father trained Moses and his twin brother to steal cars when they were seven years old. When law enforcement caught up, Moses and his twin brother entered the foster care system. Starting off in the homes of family members, the brothers endured physical beatings until law enforcement removed them from the home. Using drugs while in fifth grade, Moses tried almost everything but recognized cannabis as the one thing that could keep him calm, productively present and engaged with others. Throughout his life he could not escape the idea that there is more to this life than the material, there is a life after this life.
