What's Your Personal Elevator Pitch?

What's Your Personal Elevator Pitch?

Season 2 Episode 4 of THEE Conversation is sponsored by USAA.

Let's talk about how YOU introduce yourself to the world.

When we think of an elevator pitch, we often think of job seeking or an entrepreneur wanting to sell you their business idea.

But an elevator pitch spans far beyond that.

We give elevator pitches every time we meet someone new - a quick run to the grocery store, dropping the kids off at school, going to work, during virtual social hours, moving to a new duty station, and the list goes on.

These are opportunities to introduce yourself to build personal connections and long-lasting friendships. But so often, those opportunities are missed because you don't introduce yourself. You introduce your spouse, children, and pets. No. No. Tell people about YOU and the FABulous things YOU have to offer this world.   We'll chat about our elevator pitches from professional to personal pitches, during this episode of THEE Conversation.   Let's get CONVOLICIOUS!!

The Silent Crisis

The Silent Crisis

In this episode of THEE Conversation the conversation starters talk about:

  1. Midlife and identity crisis in the community of people who support the working class.
  2. Creating a positive self identify
  3. Improving mental health in the caregiver community

The duties and responsibilities of caring for a family entail taking on several roles that have an occupational equivalent, and the lack of proper care for the wellbeing of the caregiver can lead to increased stress and burnout. In some cases, the person does try to reach out for help or express their unhappiness with life, and it is met with indifference or misunderstanding because it is perceived as nagging or complaining.

Whatever someone is going through at any given time is important to them and reminding them it could be worse does not help address the issues they are presently experiencing.

Join us for social hour and continue the conversation.

Intimacy and Communication

Intimacy and Communication

Big thank you to DadJonz for sponsoring this episode of Milspouse Conversations. DadJonz is a huge supporter of the military spouse community.

Courtney Boyer, owner of Stepping Stones Coaching shared some great information about Intimacy in our previous podcast episode. Head over and take a listen or view the interview on our Milspouse Conversations Youtube channel.

This episode of Milspouse Conversations is led by our Marketing Director and conversation starter Rebecca Hyde. When Rebecca isn't advocating for better mental health for military families, she is either spending time with her husband and three kids or working on her new business venture, Media Beach.

Rebecca will be heading up much needed "real and raw" conversations on "Mental Health," "Intimacy and the Military Marriage," and "Retiring from the Only Life You Know."  She is an open book and is more than willing to share her knowledge and experience with her much loved military families.

In this episode of Milspouse Conversations, we discuss Intimacy and Communication while touching on keypoints Courtney spoke on during her episode. Man! We have some weeds to pull. Get ready to hear our views on:

  • How our method of communication (as milspouses) sometimes looks a little different than others
  • Intimacy is not just sex
  • Vulnerability and why this may be affecting your ability to effectively communicate with your spouse

And don't want to miss the talk about the anchor and dropping those bags either. So, keep listening until the end. We told you we're REAL and RAW.

Besties, Frenemies & Friends - Let’s talk about friendship in the MilSpouse community

Besties, Frenemies & Friends - Let’s talk about friendship in the MilSpouse community

Join Milspouse Conversations as we are led by our conversation starter and Merchandise Graphic Designer Ny Cruz in a discussion about Friendships in the military spouse community.

✤What about your friends? Will they be around or will they turn their back on you?

✤Making friends in a constantly changing can be difficult

✤Sometimes we are moving away and sometimes our friends are moving away, and how this can impact friendships.

✤Another impact is that friendships can be more of convenience relationships rather than authentic bonds of friendship, especially in overseas environments.

✤Besties can turn into frenemies in an instance without notice or warning.

✤Some friendships last a lifetime while others become toxic and whither away, or just whither for no reason.
