S2 E3: I'm Just a Born Bitch

Hi Mujeres! We’re back with a new episode! Got some updates for y’all…Liz talks about her new job & getting back to the workforce after being a stay at home mom for 5+ years. We were on one during this recording…no alcohol or substances included. We had a lot on our chest to say & we said it. No holding back. And like in the wise words of Kourtney Kardashian ‘I’m just a born bitch’ & we hold no apologies for it.

S2 E1: New Year Refresh

S2 E1: New Year Refresh

Hi Mujeres!! Happy New Year! We are so excited to be back in the studio and recording again, it's definitely refreshing! This episode we go over what we look forward to in the 2023 new year, what our goals are, what we want to work on - personally and podcast wise, which makes us so excited for what is to come. We know goals are usually set for the new year but we want to hold each other accountable and make a plan for how we intend to achieve our goals. Like the saying goes - "Nothing changes if nothing changes." If there's something you want to accomplish, with your job, your personal life, etc write down your plan and crush every goal! We believe in you!

Episode 116: Is He a Daddy or a Zaddy?

Hi Mujeres! We're back from our long hiatus and glad to be back recording! We catch up with what we've been up to and where we've been. Liz with her fitness journey and getting her last baby ready for school and Mel moving and her long distance relationship, we have been busy this summer. We open up the discussion of relationships and when men support and encourage their partners, it provides a safe space for us to be who we really and in turn give back to them for their needs. Episode 115:"Does She Really Mean F*ck Them Kids?!"

Episode 115:"Does She Really Mean F*ck Them Kids?!"

Hi Mujeres! We know we have a wide variety of listeners, some with kids & some without. Our child-free friends can often feel misunderstood when their friends become mothers or the topic of children comes up. There can be a drift in friendships because paths diverge of priorities and responsibilities but it doesn’t always have to be that way. There’s a level of understanding and patience that comes along when those two separate lifestyles come about. We discuss our own experiences of being child free or having children and having child free friends and what those relationships require to continue.

Episode 114: OMG, Is That Herpes?

WARNING: LISTENER DISCRETION IS ADVISED!

Hi Mujeres! We catch up with The Ultimatum finale and reunion but don't worry, no spoilers! Somehow we jumped on the topic of female hygiene and what all it takes to "maintain" ourselves. That goes for waxing, nails, feminine care, and even STD checks and scares! Let us know what you think of today's episode and what you want to rant about when it comes to taking care of ourselves or what you enjoy doing to keep yourselves groomed.

Episode 113: He Gave Her an Ultimatum!

Episode 113: He Gave Her an Ultimatum!

Hi Mujeres! After watching the new Netflix series "Ultimatum," it had us reeling back and thinking if we've ever given someone an ultimatum. Whether to get married, become coupled up, or even not putting up with a dirty habit. Most times it's a woman giving a man an ultimatum to put a ring on it but sometimes it's the other way around! Listen and see what happened when one of us was given an ultimatum.

Episode 112: Ugly Side of Healing

Episode 112: Ugly Side of Healing

Hi Mujeres! So many of us are on healing journey's to unbreak cycles, heal a broken heart, and discovering who we are. While it's an experience that is liberating and definitely a roller coaster of emotions, no one talks about the ugly side of healing. What are the things you've experienced that you weren't prepared for or didn't expect? We talk about the things we've experienced while knocking down those walls to finding our true selves. Healing is not linear and no one's journey is the same but it's nice to see sometimes we're not alone in some of those feelings. Let us know what you think of the episode and what your experience has been.

Shout out to Hello Studios for assisting with production.

Episode 111: Young & Dumb

Episode 111: Young & Dumb

Hi Mujeres! After watching Euphoria, based on high school students, we look back at our young and dumb choices. In our teenage phase, we don't have a strong moral compass to determine what is right or wrong for us. We are all making decisions without a thought of consequence and just living in the moment. We talk about some regrets, what we thought we knew, and see if we would do anything different. Let us know your thoughts. What is a moment in your younger years that makes you shake your head?

Hi Mujeres! Long time no see. We’ve been away since the beginning of this new year with our individual challenges & finally had some clearance to update you all on what’s been going on. Our absence is definitely not on purpose but as all humans, we need time away to gather ourselves & figure out life. Episode 109: And Just Like That...Friendship Breakups

Episode 109: And Just Like That...Friendship Breakups

Hi Mujeres! This is our last episode of 2021! We wanted to finish out with a bang and what we've learned this year. We asked you what 2021 meant to you and what you're leaving behind. We could all agree that we are looking forward to the new year. With the new SATC series, Just Like That, we wanted to dive into how the show went on without a significant character, Samantha, and how her relationship with Carrie fell apart. With that being said, Liz explains a friend breakup that happened this year and what she learned from it. Friend breakups can be harder than with a significant other because we put so much trust and effort into them and when they don't work out, it questions our character and who we are as friends. We hope this episode helps anyone going through the end of a friendship and how to look at the positives that can come with it. Let us know your thoughts.

Episode 65: I Blocked That B*

Hi Mujeres! Having female relationships can be so important and empowering but at the same time just like every type of relationship, they take work and effort. Friendship breakups can be just as hard and difficult as a losing a significant other. It's almost like losing a sister. When is it time to give up a toxic friendship? Do you block them? In today's world, ghosting and blocking is easier than ever and sometimes it's the only tool to get rid of that toxic and negative energy. Today's episode we talk about navigating losing friendships, toxic relationships, and how we've overcome them.

Hey Mujeres!!! LISTENER DISCRETION IS ADVISED. ADULT CONVERSATION ONLY!! We brought back a guest, can you guess who?....Alexander Chase! He wanted to follow up with us after listening to our WAP episode to share his input and who are we to say no?? We welcomed him back to have an open conversation in regards to women and their sexuality. With toxic masculinity, women who share their sexuality are often shunned for sharing that intimate parts of themselves but it doesn't make them any less. ALL women should be treated with respect regardless of how they present themselves. Let us know your thoughts! We'd love to hear your feedback! Follow Alexander Chase on IG @alexndrchase

Episode 63: WAP means WHAT?

Hey Mujeres!! This episode is for ADULTS ONLY! Listener discretion is advised. If you've heard the new Cardi B and Meg Thee Stallion hit "WAP" you know it's been turning some heads (no pun intended) and dropping jaws. You know MDM is all about women empowerment and we stan for this women anthem and celebrating our sensual and sexual side. What is the point of sexual desire and pleasure if you don't know how or what you want? We need to take that power back and learn to love ourselves inside and out. Modern Day Mujeres would love to hear your feedback or stories you'd like to share.

Episode 55: Passing the Mic to SoSique

Episode 55: Passing the Mic to SoSique

Hi Mujeres! This is special episode as we passed the mic to author, leader, writer, and artist to SoSique to share his experience of being a black man in America. Believe it or not, we are in the second civil rights movement and we believe in the Black Lives Matter movement. Please come with an open mind, an open heart, and listen. Below are a handful of resources to educate yourself and organizations to donate to help fight for justice.
We invite all podcasters and content creators to participate in this call to action by @wocpodcasters.
We are podcasters united to condemn the tragic murders of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor and many many others at the hands of police. This is a continuation of the systemic racism pervasive in our country since its inception and we are committed to standing against racism in all its forms.
We believe that to be silent is to be complicit.
We believe that Black lives matter.
We believe that Black lives are more important than property.
We believe that we have a responsibility to use our platforms to speak out against this injustice whenever and wherever we are witness to it.
In creating digital media we have built audiences that return week after week to hear our voices and we will use our voices to speak against anti-blackness and police brutality, and we encourage our audiences to be educated, engaged, and to take action.
If you are able to, please donate to the below organization to help fight for justice.

Episode 49: Autism Awareness Part 2

Hi Mujeres! We have a special series as April is Autism Awareness Month! Part 2 of our series features guest, Anissa. Anissa shares with us her journey of her first born son, Jayden, and his diagnosis of autism at the age of three. She's a great mother and loves sharing and embracing Jayden's abilities. Anissa wants to bring awareness for mothers, parents, and everyone that having a child or a loved one with this diagnosis is not a burden but is a way of seeing a different world in the eyes of a person on the spectrum.

"Jayden is 4 years old and was officially diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder at the age of 3. Although he can not speak, he has come such a long way by communicating with our family in other ways. He will either bring objects he wants to us, or take our hand and walk us over to something, such as the door, to let us know he wants to go outside. He loves music, jumping on the trampoline, looking at books, car rides & holding hand. Anyone who spends time with Jayden will tell you he is the biggest sweetheart and most laid back kid ever."

Episode 48: Autism Awareness Part 1

Hi Mujeres! We have a special series as April is Autism Awareness Month! Part 1 of our series features a previous guest, Krystal, that is sister and guardian to 18 year old Jr. Krystal shares their journey and wants to bring awareness to autism as well as sharing the plentiful of resources that are available for children and adults on the spectrum

Krystal shares with us, "Jr is an 18 year old non-verbal high school senior with Autism. He was diagnosed around the age of 3-4. His favorite activities are legos, puzzles, word searches, riding his bike, watching classic Disney movies, listening to music and basketball! As a little kid, he would have tantrums daily, self harm, needed a lot of assistance and prompting. Throughout the years, he has learned how to be independent, communicate with his speaking device and has absolutely amazed us with his perseverance. Jr can complete almost any home chore or task you ask of him and is a huge help around the house. Once of my favorite things about him is how loving he is. It is difficult for those with autism to show and even receive affection because of the sensory output. Jr although can be stubborn at times is always willing to give you hugs and kisses! He's currently working on his money counting abilities and I know with time and continued support he will have that mastered."
