Rachelle used to be a busy working mom but says the pandemic helped her make up for lost time spent at work which she now spends with her 5-year-old daughter. A few more years of hits and misses, they were able to put up Common Room, a collaborative shop that houses products of 200+ artists and makers. From being 24/7 girl boss, she is now full-time mom to a beautiful baby girl , Maya— and if life permits, she does as much work as she can for Common Room and Popjunklove when the little one’s asleep.

Our launch episode is about pregnancy and new mom stuff with the pioneer childbirth educator, Rome Kanapi. A treasure trove of information and wisdom for every pregnant mom. She can actually run for office with the number of parents she helped guide through their infanticipation journey. Joining Janice in this episode also is one of the members of her first ever breastfeeding support group partners, Abbie Yabot, with Best Friends in Breastfeeding. They are still reliable sources of support for breastfeeding moms today. We'll talk about how BF was 20 years ago, when no one would breastfeed and how Janice and her cousin Candy dealt with that, having started a nursing wear and maternity clothing company. Lastly we go through a happy journey of how the scene has changed so much, all because of the passion of so many advocates like us.
