31 Days of Halloween Movie Watchlist 

October is here and that means Halloween. And Halloween means movies. Horror movies. Lots of horror movies. 31 to be exact. One for every day of Horrortober.

Once again, we’ve got you covered, thanks to our buddy, Steve Hutchison. He’s back with another round of our favorite Halloween Dice game from his book 31 Days of Halloween. She has written “Sausages - The Making of Dog Soldiers” - an amazing book about the making of her favorite horror movie, Dog Soldiers. She’s here to tell us how it all happened and to share some of the stories behind the scenes.

As we said the last time we had her on the show, Janine is a bad ass woman of horror. She’s the author of the book, “Twisted: Tainted Tales” and many other horror stories and a force of positive energy in the horror community. She’s also a very good friend of ours and an inspiration to us all. She’s living proof that if you put your mind to it, work hard, and be good to people, you can achieve almost anything.

This time on Monster Men we are pleased to welcome the First Family of Horror Filmmaking, Toby Poser, Zelda Adams and John Adams. This talented troupe has written, directed, filmed, edited and starred in some amazing films including Rumblestrips, Knuckle Jack, The Shoot, Halfway to Zen, The Deeper You Dig, and the brand new HELLBENDER.

The Deeper You Dig happens to be a Monster Men favorite and Hellbender is probably our most anticipated movie of 2022. So you can image, we were thrilled to have them ion the show.

One thing you can say about the Monster Men, we ain't afraid of no ghosts! We kick off 2022 with special guest and Lady Ghostbuster, Eleanor Wagner. An author, sensitive, and paranormal investigator, Eleanor tells us how she got into exploring the strange and sometimes terrifying. From building an investigative team, to exploring haunted mines, historical homes and business and more, who can resist a great ghost story?

The time on Monster Men, we welcome our pals Chad Lutzke and Jeremiah Bannister from the PaleoCheeze Podcast. Chad, like us, is a crusty horror veteran and he often watches horror movies with Jeremiah, who has hardly seen anything scary on the silver screen. It’s always a lot of fun.

We’ve invited them to watch and compare two legendary horror movies; The Fly, starring Vincent Price from 1958 and the remake with from 1986, directed by David Cronenberg and starring: Jeff Goldblum and ‎Geena Davis.

Talk about a  whirlwind! We welcome Janine Pipe, horror reviewer, author, editor,  blogger, podcaster and everything in between. In just one year, Janine  has been a force of nature in the horror genre, and this is only  the beginning. We talk about how she came to be a reviewer, her past  life as a copper, upcoming writing projects and so much more. You might want to check this episode out with the lights on. The Monster Men were thrilled to have Glenn Laycock on the show. Glenn is the director of T.O.P.S. (The Ontario Paranormal Society York Region Chapter), and has been a paranormal investigator for five years. He’s lived in a haunted home for over a decade and was even featured on Paranormal Survivor. Glenn talks about some of his most chilling investigations, what it’s like to be on TV, the backstory behind his haunted house, ghost hunting equipment and why graveyards are not the best place to seek the paranormal. 

Are you ready to rock? This week we welcome our buddy Mike Carlon on the show to reminisce about some of our favorite songs featured in horror movies. It’s a fun and nostalgic ride down the Highway to Hell. Mike is an author, podcaster and stand-up comic. He also knows a lot about 80s hair metal. Don’t mess with him when it comes to Dokken. He also has a funny story about the time he saw the Warrens.

So bust your hair spray out and get ready to bang your head, it’s time to rock out.

The Monster Men welcome back the man himself, author Terry M West, to the show. Some people say that we are living in the new golden age of horror movies. Well, the belt holder for the decade of the BEST horror made for TV movies was, is and always will be the 70s. Jack, Hunter and Terry wax poetic over a cavalcade of 70s horror classics like The Night Stalker, Trilogy of Terror, Duel, and dozens of other found and hidden gems that hit the airwaves during a presidential resignation, gas crisis, hostage crisis, and overall identity crisis. IT FOLLOWS. It’s just one of those movies, either you love it, or you hate it. Some considered a modern horror masterpiece and others want their 1h and 40 minutes back. It’s Halloween time again, but times have changed and so must we. Thanks to the pandemic, Halloween will look a little different this year, and so does our Halloween episode. We have done it remotely, as is the case with most things in 2020… but that does not stop us from having fun.

This time we discuss and celebrate the horror movies 1978, the year the John Carpenter’s Halloween came out. It was quite a year for the genre. Plus, throughout the conversation we talk about some of the ways you can enjoy Halloween while still staying safe.

Beware the moon! This week we welcome Michelle Garza to the podcast. Michelle alongside her twin sister, Melissa Lason, are better known as The Sisters of Slaughter, authors of some great horror, science fiction and dark fantasy. This week we discuss a subject that’s near and dear to Michelle; werewolves. Naturally we cover many of the staples of the genre including The Wolfman, An American Werewolf in London, The Howling, Dog Soldiers, Ginger Snaps and more. You’ll be howling at the moon by the end of this one.
