EP 37 - The Elopement Collective with Britt Snow
In this episode, I share with you an interview with Britt Snow who, along with her husband Josh, founded and currently run the elopement collective, previously known as the pop-up wedding co. As you will hear in this episode, the elopement collective is a squad of wedding industry leaders and creatives that create epic and intimate elopements for couples in Australia and around the world.
Eloping is something that appears to become more accepted as a potential alternative for the traditional 80 - 100 person wedding or Event as Britt describes it. As we discussed throughout this episode, some of the benefits include not only the potential cost savings, a lot less stress and time involved in having a plan and organise your special day. Most importantly the opportunity for couples to have a day of their choosing, without all of the external pressure and expectations that seems to come with having a wedding.
Throughout this episode, I discussed with Britt
- How they were able to take their original goal of booking 12 weddings a year. To now having grown a business with an annual turnover of over $600,000, as well allowing their family to travel the world doing something they love.
- How the original idea of the pop-up wedding co which turned into the elopement collective was born
- The decision for Britt and Josh to quit their full-time jobs and start their business
- Some of their biggest failures and lessons they have learnt so far with running their own business
- What they know now that they wish they had known when first starting the business
- The growing trend of eloping
- How eloping works and what are the costs involved
- The wedding industry as a whole
- Some of the amazing travel destinations that they have travelled to including Iceland, New Zealand and New York

EP 34 - Starting a Business, Breakups & Travel w/ Emily Gough
Starting a Business, Breakups & Travel With Emily Gough
In this episode, we speak to Emily Gough about:
- Going back to school
- Changing careers
- Starting a business
- Relationship breakdown
- Travel
- Pros and Cons of working remotely
- Your money story and money beliefs
About Emily
Some things you may not know about her:
- A handful of my favourite things include deadlifts, dark chocolate PB cups and patting every dog I meet.
- I’ve held random jobs that include everything from working in a warehouse and bartending in nightclubs for years, to customer service at a well-known chain and managing large corporate sales accounts in the automotive industry.
- I have BA in Criminal Justice & Psychology, plus certifications as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor and holistic nutritionist - and it all somehow led me to where I am today.
- Whether it’s walking, hiking, lifting heavy weights or trying to learn to love the assault bike, I’m usually in motion.
- I laugh a lot, even at inappropriate moments. I try to find the light in everything, and will also always encourage you to feel all the feels, otherwise, they have a habit of coming back to bite us in the ass 10X over.
- The hardest lesson I’ve learned is that life isn’t going to go according to plan. Ever. The faster you learn to let go of “the plan,” the more adaptable you will be and that will allow you to see and appreciate the most beautiful parts of the unexpected.

EP 20 - Dealing with Debt
With the increasing cost of living affecting most Australian households, it is easy to see why national debt levels are at an all-time high. Unfortunately, too many families rely on their credit card and are living week to week which makes it nearly impossible to get out of debt and get ahead financially. If you find yourself with some or a lot of debt, it is essential that you understand what debt is and what type of debt you have. As it is necessary to be aware that not all debt is the same and there is, in fact, a type of debt that can be good.

Good debt is that type of debt that is your friend and if you are going to have any debt at all this is the type you want.
Bad Debt, the type of debt that unfortunately for most Australians we need to have some of this in our lives to provide us with one of our essential needs which is place to live.
Ugly Debt, the worst type of debt, which unfortunately too many Australian families have too much of and are what causes a lot of stress on the household budget.

“I was a travel photographer, documenting life all over the world and it sounds stupid but it actually left me feeling unfulfilled. Posting photos documenting a life where each new country was simply in between and before the next trip. It was an incredibly humbling position to be in, but it was not me. It took me a while to realise and accept that...To come to terms with the fact that, just because it is the dream job for a lot of people doesn’t mean it has to be the dream job for me. I needed something that anchors my day, something that structures my lifestyle - a world where early mornings are a given and pushing the physical limits of my body is a daily occurrence”.
