Most Things Kenobi - A Star Wars Podcast

Similar to how we did back in Episode 34, we're taking another trip into the brilliant short story collection within "From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back" and reviewing two more stories. First, we'll dive into Yoda's point of view in a story titled "The First Lesson", in which he sees Luke for the first time on Dagobah, and so begins their lessons together. Second, things get a little darker with Admiral Piett's point of view when he witnesses Vader without his helmet in a story titled "For The Last Time." Two totally different stories, two totally different points of view, and two amazingly-written tales we absolutely *loved* dissecting together. We'll pull quotes from our favorite moments in both stories and investigate the feelings and emotions behind the characters and what they're experiencing within the story itself. We love this collection and look forward to doing more story break-downs in the future!

This past May the 4th, Carrie Fisher received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. We felt it was the perfect time to reflect on her performance as Leia Organa and to honor the woman who became an icon, inspiring people from all walks. She's strong yet vulnerable, brazen yet truthful. Are we talking about Leia or Carrie? The answer is both!

That's right, it's THE James Arnold Taylor!!!! Legendary voice actor who plays Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Clone Wars!!!!! We are thrilled to bring you an interview full of joy, laughter, and yes, plenty of Obi-Wan :) James has been the voice of Kenobi for over 20 years, which gives him unique insight into the character's motivations and internal landscape. In this episode we discuss everything from JAT's ability to change his voice (think Rako Hardeen) to his thoughts on Satine to behind-the-scenes stories about recording Clone Wars. We even get an inside scoop on an upcoming live-action project he's working on. The Space Twins are back from Europe! This week's episode is all about recounting the events of our 2023 Star Wars Celebration in London, including all the fun, chaos, new memories made with friends/listeners, the epic panels (complete with soundbites!), our favorite cosplays, and everything in between. LeeAnn also successfully spoke as one of several scientists on the "Science and The Return of the Jedi" panel; an experience she will never forget. There are a lot of laughs in this episode, but also a lot of heartfelt moments as well (and how fitting to be able to share our memories here on the 99th Episode of the show!) It was a long journey, but we were SO happy to have had the chance to do it, and to do it together. Thank you to everyone who shared Celebration 2023 with us and helped to make it an amazing experience!

When The Clone Wars epic Season 7 was released, it filled in many of the blanks from Revenge of the Sith while also giving further character development, especially when it came to Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka Tano, and Anakin Skywalker. Now that we have further knowledge of the events that took place within Revenge fo the Sith, how did it change our view of Obi-Wan Kenobi, or did it confirm some of the things we already knew about his character? There's SO much to discuss from Clone Wars Season 7 alone and with so much to investigate, we made sure to cover all the bases. Let's relive the pain and torture from the last moments where we see Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka Tano, and Anakin Skywalker together before the galaxy turned upside down.

Because we had so many submissions for what our listener's have as Alternate Universe (AU) scenarios within Star Wars, we had to do a second part to include them all - and they are ALL amazing. We had so much fun reading them, theorizing about them, and going a little bit off the rails with just about all of them! Plus: we begin this episode with a very amazing Star Wars Celebration Panel announcement you won't want to miss. The creativity of an Alternate Universes (or "AUs", for short) within the Star Wars realm is vast and plenty. We thought it would be fun to dip our toes into the AU world and discuss a few, so we asked our followers on the Most Things Kenobi Instagram (@most_things_kenobi) what AUs or Headcanons they have and if they would like to share them with us. We got SO many replies that we had to split this episode into two parts to cover all of them! We start this week's episode off by sharing a few of our own personal AU/Headcanons, and then transition over to those that were shared with us on social media. We think you'll be surprised by many of them, and perhaps even more so with our responses and elaborations on them! Stay tuned for Part 2 next week where we'll finish up the list. This is our third and final episode breaking down the Citadel Arc from the Clone Wars. We have a great time discussing Obi-Wan going ham, Anakin and Tarkin's budding evil-empire friendship, and Ahsoka and Master Plo's lie. One of our all time favorite Clone Wars episode arcs is the "Citadel Arc," which begins with its namesake episode titled, "The Citadel," in which our favorite Jedi and Clones go on a rescue mission to a giant, booby-trapped, maximum security prison that was originally built to CONTAIN ROGUE JEDI. It's a little crazy, right? We discuss our thoughts and theories on this fact, plus all the craziness that follows: meeting Tarkin for the first time pre-OT and seeing carbon freezing for the first time pre-OT. We also talk about the symbolism of the colors used in the design of the planet where the Citadel is located and how it represents a lot more than what you initially think. This episode sets the stage for some of the most heartbreaking, foreboding, and impactful moments to come in the series and in Star Wars as a whole, so join us on this three part series as we break it all down!

This episode is chock full of laughter over MANY things, and it starts at the beginning of the episode when we announce some big, BIG news for Most Things Kenobi! We then transition to discussing the many talents of Matt Lanter, the voice of Anakin Skywalker in The Clone Wars and many other Star Wars projects. We go over some of the television shows he's been in that we adore (and share many a laugh over!) while singing his praises for the work he's done. We had a lot of fun recording this episode, and at the heart of it is our love and respect for Matt Lanter and what he's brought to the character of Anakin Skywalker. We adore you, Matt! (And if you know what the hell Anakin whispers to the Zygerrian queen, we're all ears!) 

MAJOR Spoilers ahead in this episode if you have not read the book "Rebel Rising," so proceed with caution! With that being said, we have recently read the novel and have many, MANY thoughts on it (especially after seeing the "Andor" series)! This is the story of Jyn Erso's life after Saw Gerrera rescues her from the bunker on Lah'mu in "Rogue One," and spans through the years leading up to when we see her again in the movie. The novel also answers a lot of the questions on where Jyn's attitude, her fighting skills, her growing abandonment issues, and her eventual hope for the future comes from. We'll discuss all this and more, and explain all the incredible (and heartbreaking) similarities there are between Jyn's story and Cassian's story. We ask the question: did the Force bring them together in the end? We give our answers and we hope you provide us yours as well. 

In this week's episode we're using a different approach to analyze the original trilogy in the Star Wars universe; we're discussing our favorite characters' entrances and exits. How does their first appearance on screen compare with their last? Is there symbolism in the cinematography? Does an entrance or an exit play into a larger narrative? Our Patrons chose the topic of this week's episode, and we couldn't be happier. They wanted us to do a character study on everyone's favorite galactic pirate, Hondo Ohnaka! He's become a fixture in the Star Wars universe and one of our personal favorite characters! From his original appearance in The Clone Wars, his continuation in Rebels, comics, and even his current residency at Disney's "Galaxy's Edge" theme park, how has one Weequay pirate stood the test of time and stolen the hearts of millions (not to mention spices, goods, and occasionally even some people?) We'll discuss it all in this episode! 

Oh you thought the torture and drama and insanity was over? WRONG. "Escape from Kadavo" is the dramatic and crazy conclusion of this three part episode arc, and it does not disappoint. We get it all: we finally get to see the slaves escaping (but, um...why so few? where did all the other slaves go?) We get Rex javelin-spearing a fat dude in a floating chair through the chest. We get Anakin and Ahsoka not having any sort of conversation over wtf just happened with the Zygerrians and why they were sent on this mission in the first place. It's the culmination of a rather traumatic mission, despite the entertainment it provided. But, in the end, it's a happy one (kind of.) The mental and physical scars that Anakin, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, and Rex sustain on this mission linger long after it has ended, but hey - at least the people of Kiros were saved! Ah yes, we adore you, Kadavo Arc! 

Here is part 2 of our breakdown of the Kadavo Arc from The Clone Wars. If you can believe it, things get even crazier as Obi-Wan gets another beating of a lifetime, Anakin seduces a queen, and Ahsoka goes under cover as a slave...oh, and Rex tags along in the mayhem. "Slaves of the Republic" has stuff we never thought we would see in a kids animated series...but as we all know by now, Clone Wars is not your ordinary kid's show. Sit back and enjoy the chaos with us!

This week we're heading back to The Clone Wars as we break down some of our favorite episodes: The Kadavo Arc. We start with "Kidnapped," a crazy plot that includes Obi-Wan getting the sh!t kicked out of him, Anakin completely losing his temper, and Ahsoka doing her best in the middle of the chaos. Join us as we discuss one of the most notorious Clone Wars stories full of beatings, kidnapping, and A LOT of bruises.

This week we conclude our deep discussion on Obi-Wan and Darth Maul's relationship throughout Star Wars, beginning with "The Lawless" and finishing with the dramatic conclusion between these two linked characters in Rebels episode "Twin Suns." We even discuss Maul's twisted, sordid obsession with Satine and his shrine we catch a glimpse of in Rebels, dissecting what we think the shrine meant and how it shows a new level of Maul's character. In the end, Obi-Wan and Maul are two characters who have been connected from the start, and the compassion Obi-Wan shows Maul in the end shows Obi-Wan's true character. What a full circle story between the two of them. We hope we covered it sufficiently between our previous episode and this week's episode, because as painful as their story is: it's one of the greatest in Star Wars.  

Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Maul's lives have been linked since the beginning: from The Phantom Menace all the way through to Star Wars Rebels, these two characters have shared loss, isolation and emotion together, and have had a constant presence in one another's life. In this episode, we break down the similarities and differences between these two characters, starting with the Phantom Menace through The Clone Wars "Revival" episode. (In next week's episode, we'll pick it back up and continue through their conclusion in Star Wars Rebels episode, "Twin Suns.") We also raise the question of whether it was a smart idea to bring Maul back, and if it has forwarded the Star Wars story in a positive or negative way. Given that we're dedicating two episodes to this dumpster fire of a relationship between Kenobi and Maul - you probably already know our answer!

We. Freaking. Loved. This. Show. Andor was a brilliant work of art that we both absolutely adored. In this episode, we go through our favorite moments from Andor 8-12, including revisiting the epic monologues, gushing about Diego Luna's beautiful portrayal of Cassian (GIVE THIS MAN AN AWARD!!!), spazzing out about Mon Mothma's ruthlessness, and gushing about Maarva'S brick, Brasso's hug, B2EMO's hologram projection, Kino's courage (we will never forget you, Kino!!!), Luthen's sacrifice, and more!!!

This week is the first of two installments of a series we call: Get to know your hosts! To start, LeeAnn interviews Lauren with a number of questions Lauren has not seen beforehand, so her answers are off-the-cuff and both hilarious and insightful. Next week, Lauren will do the same to LeeAnn, and in the end we hope our listeners have fun and get to know their Space Twin hosts a little better! 

One of our all time favorite Clone Wars episodes is "Hunt for Ziro" where Obi-Wan Kenobi gets paired up with Quinlan Vos. The resulting snark and banter is second to none and made LeeAnn and Lauren instant fans of the roguish Jedi. In this episode, we discuss this hilarious duo, as well as the book Dark Disciple, and Quinlan's mention in the Kenobi series. We hope you enjoy!

All six episodes of "Tales of the Jedi" dropped at once, so of course we watched them all at once...but our review may NOT be what you'd expect from us (Hint: we did not like the majority of the episodes.) We'll explain why, with a few of our opinions being rather, erm...strongly-worded (Another hint: LeeAnn goes off!) At the end of the day, we love Dave Filoni, we love The Clone Wars, and we love anything that revisits the characters that we've come to know and love, but "Tales of the Jedi" missed the mark for us in many ways. Major spoilers ahead for those who have not watched all the episodes.

Andor episode 7 was emotional for both of us. Whether it was Cassian and Maarva's heartbreaking conversation, Mon Mothma's tense interactions, or the flashbacks that revealed more about Clem's fate, we were moved by the amazing performances (and the truly incredible script!). We chat about our favorite moments...and a few moments we didn't quite like. One thing is for certain, we both agree Andor is one of the best things to come out of Star Wars, and we can't wait to see what happens next!

This series just keeps blowing our minds. The visuals, the story-telling, the character development, and the climax of Episode 6 alone had us freaking out ONCE AGAIN, because that seems to be what Andor does to us! For what it's worth, that's the entirety of our episode this week: discussing everything we loved (and many things we questioned...like who the hell IS Uncle Harlo? And WHY did Skeen lie to all of us about his brother? DAMN HIM!) As LeeAnn said: Episode 5 was the build up. Episode 6 was the explosion....and we loved every second of it.

Anidala. Obitine. Whatever "ship" name you have for them, they're the relationship pairings we're discussing in this week's episode! We asked ourselves the question: how is Anakin and Padme's relationship similar and/or different from the relationship between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Satine Kryze? We go a bit deep into love languages, displays of affection, intense behavior (or lack thereof!), and ultimately reach a consensus on what we feel are similarities and differences between the two couples. Attachments may be forbidden to the Jedi, but *nothing* is forbidden on this podcast - so let's discuss!

We know, we know... we were supposed to talk about Obi-Wan and Satine compared to Anakin and Padme... and we will, we promise. But the fourth episode of Andor was so freaking good we couldn't resist talking about it. This show is knocking it out of the park with its script, plot, acting, cinematography, Star Wars references, symbolism, etc! Our minds are blown. Listen in to learn about the significance of the cherry blossoms, the CRAZY items in Luthan's shop, and the deliberate ways Cassian mirrors Jyn.

We cover all the highs and lows of each episode in the series so far, highlighting the storytelling, the character development, and the cinematography (does it get any better? Honestly?) At times we have opposing opinions on some parts of the show, but one thing is certain: we both agree that this show is unlike any other in the Star Wars live action universe thus far, and we're excited for more!

Your Space Twins are together in person for this episode (and next week's as well!), so to celebrate this and our 66th episode, we HAD to talk about Order 66. We talk a lot about the Jedi Purge from the Jedi's perspectives, from the Clone's perspectives, and even delve into a little history behind the meaning and naming of "Order 66" itself. Palpatine/Darth Sidious spent years creating one of the most evil, masterminded plans ever and the after effects forever haunt the story of Star Wars and the fandom. 

In this episode we discuss the complicated love between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Satine Kryze, the Duchess of Mandalore. But don't worry, this is not a heavy, heartbreaking episode. Though we do touch on the horrific events that take place in The Lawless, we mostly focus on this couple's hilarious banter, their unexpected confessions, and the unanswered questions that still torment our hearts!!!!!

Ahhh, droids. What would Star Wars be without droids? And who doesn't love them? The word "droid" evokes memories of the Original Trilogy duo, C3PO and R2D2, and yet there are so many more droids throughout the Star Wars universe! In this episode, we give love to the OGs and many more, including some that might be lesser known or don't get the love and attention they most certainly deserve. Plus, we ask the question: Do droids feel? Do they form bonds? Are they more sentient than they first appear? We'll get into this and discuss all the droids we can in this episode (complete with sound bites from some of our favorites!)

Clone Wars is one of the most brilliant "cartoons" ever made. It's animated art, and, like all good art, it evokes strong emotions. At first glance the show might seem like a happy-go-lucky kid's show, but the further into the episodes you get, the plots become deeper, darker, and more devastating. Join us this week as we talk through the top 5 moments in the Clone Wars that ALWAYS make us cry. Grab your box of tissues and come sob with us.

For our 60th episode, we turned the choice of topic over to our Patreon members! When asking them what topic they'd like us to cover, 100% of them chose "How Leia is like her parents", so that's exactly what we discuss in this week's episode. We were so excited to break down the character traits that Leia emulates from both her parents, covering the positive qualities, and even the less flattering qualities, of her biological parents. One parent in particular stood out as being the most like Leia, which you'll hear us reveal and discuss at length. And just as Obi-Wan Kenobi described to Leia in the final episode of the Kenobi series all the traits she has from both her parents, we agree that the harmonious blend of both Padmé Amidala and Anakin Skywalker is what makes Leia the very special human that she was and always will be. 

We did not know what we were getting into when we decided to do an episode on The Whills. The more we researched, the less we seemed to grasp the concept. The Whills are, in essence, The Force in Star Wars. But it's so much more complicated than just an energy that surrounds us. We're talking about the thing that binds the galaxy together. Midi-chlorians, Jedha City, The Grand Experiment, Anakin Skywalker, The Journal of the Whills, the guardians of the Whills, the disciples of the Whills, Force ghosts, shamans, priestesses...welcome to one of the craziest rabbit holes in all of Star Wars! Join us as we try to make sense of George Lucas' building blocks for a galaxy far, far away.

Alas...the Obi-Wan Kenobi series has finished, but we're not ready to give it up yet! We're holding on to the greatness by revisiting the list we created and discussed in Episode 47, our "Top 5 Kenobi Wants" we each hoped to see at some point throughout the series. (Be sure to listen to that episode first before listening to this one!) While revisiting our list, we discuss if we got any of our wants and if we were pleased by them. On the flip side, we discuss if there were any moments on our list that we didn't get, and if we were disappointed by not getting them. Surprisingly, we got most of what we wanted! Though much of it was not in the way we could have ever imagined.

We were blown away by the Obi-Wan Kenobi finale. We cried while watching it, we cried while recording this podcast episode, we cried when we rewatched it. Dive into one of the most moving moments in Star Wars history with us. We discuss the epic lightsaber duel, Reva's visit to the Lars' homestead, and the beautiful moment Obi-Wan shares with the Organa's. 

This week we dive into episode 5 of Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi, and for the first time maybe ever, LeeAnn and Lauren don't agree! We have a deep discussion about the strengths and weaknesses, and the excitement and disappointment that we experienced. Don't worry, we are still friends :)

This week we share our mixed feelings when it comes to Episode 4. Most of this episode moved us, either to tears or strong emotions, some scenes left us wanting more, while many others left us gasping and cheering. We go over all these and more, while theorizing what several of the episode's elements might mean (ahem, that TOMB?!). We also can't be the only ones who were left in tears by the end of the episode, which is a moment in Star Wars we'll never be grateful enough to have witnessed. Bottom line: Kenobi's getting his groove back, and we cannot wait to see where the last two episodes lead us!

This episode had it all, and we address every moment of the sheer excitement we felt while watching Episode 3! So as usual: **SPOILER ALERT** if you haven't seen this episode yet! There were so many amazing scenes, so many heartwarming moments, and of course - THAT scene - between Vader and Obi-Wan, that had us in our feels. In fact, discussing the scenes had us feeling very passionate while we recorded this episode and as we reviewed our thoughts, feelings, and emotions. This was one hell of an episode, and we can't wait to see what awaits us next week in the series.

Let’s get hyped for the Kenobi show! This is our final episode before we begin weekly coverage of the Obi-Wan Kenobi show on Disney+, so what better way to get excited than to discuss our favorite “bad ass Kenobi” scenes? We’ll go over each of our top 5 moments we think Obi-Wan was the most bad ass, whether it be in the movies or in the Clone Wars television show. Of course, we also include a few honorable mentions as well. Looking into the future, we have vowed to revisit this list once the Kenobi show finishes and we’ll see where our current top 5 ranks once the show is over! One thing is certain: Obi-Wan was, is, and will ALWAYS be a bad ass.

This week is a very special episode for Most Things Kenobi, as LeeAnn and her dear friends Derrick and Corey review their amazing experience aboard the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser. During this in-depth conversation (which DOES include spoilers!), they'll describe what they thought of the experience, including hits and misses, how they were able to book the Galactic Suite, and even reveal some pro tips for the best experience if you ever decide to stay aboard the Starcruiser. And of course, they'll share plenty of personal stories and even some tender moments shared between them over this truly one-of-a-kind adventure. A special shout out goes out to our other friends who joined us on the Starcruiser, including Leslie, Kristeen, Dan, and Greg. We couldn't have had the amazing stay we did without everyone who made up our group and shared in the memories we all made during the stay. It's one of our lengthier episodes, but we wanted to provide a clear, unbiased, and informative rundown of the experience for everyone to enjoy! 

This week we review "Kenobi", a roughly 18 minute fan film about Obi-Wan Kenobi, and is one of our personal favorites - and what we believe is one of THE best fan films out there. Written by the actor who plays Obi-Wan in the film, Jamie Costa displays his talent and love for Star Wars throughout this brief but wonderful film. The story is set several years after Revenge of the Sith, where Obi-Wan remains haunted by Anakin Skywalker while living on Tatooine. Every time he looks at his friend's old lightsaber, he struggles internally with how he must protect Skywalker's son. The ending of this film is beautiful, and really rings true to the spirit of Kenobi and his bond with Luke Skywalker. And - we even get a surprise cameo by James Arnold Taylor, the voice of Kenobi in The Clone Wars! We discuss the storyline, the fantastic cinematography, and even hit a few of the things we didn't like (though that list is *very* short).

Adam Driver has more range in his acting abilities than we have minutes to cover, but we do our damndest in this episode! We share our appreciation and awe-inspired takes on Adam's acting, commenting heavily on his character within the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy, in addition to several other of his other roles in film and television. From his humble background to his military experience to his degree from The Juilliard School, Adam Driver's talents know no bounds. We wanted to celebrate each one, and to thank him for bringing the character of Ben Solo/Kylo Ren to life.

We can't help it! We have wants! In case you couldn't tell, we're very excited about the upcoming Kenobi Series starring Ewan McGregor. To celebrate, we've compiled a list of the top five things we hope/want to see. Are any of our desires on your own list?! What are you hoping to see? The Mortis Arc in the Clone Wars television series is one of the best the show has ever produced. It's heavy on symbolism, drama, foreshadowing, and fantastic storytelling. We'll discuss all of these things that pertain to the first episode in the arc, titled "Overlords". Over the next two weeks, we'll do the same for the rest of the episodes within this arc. MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD, so if you have not watched the Clone Wars or have not yet seen this arc in particular, please come back and listen once you've viewed it. 

Hera Syndulla is an incredible woman of many roles. She's one of the galaxy's best pilots, a wonderful soul, a mother, friend, leader, General...and a Rebellion bad ass. We discuss all of Hera's roles over the course of her life, including her relationships with the Ghost crew, her role in the Rebellion and later, the Resistance, and how massive her impact has been within the Star Wars galaxy as a whole. Let's honor this amazing woman together!

It's here!!! The Kenobi trailer finally dropped and we just HAD to record an episode about it!! We gush uncontrollably for a while before breaking the trailer down nearly scene by scene. We talk about how exciting it is to have Ewan (and his lock of hair) back, how amazing the dialogue sounded, and yes, we even discuss the shape of the inquisitor's head.

You know the scene. You LOVE the scene. And so do we....so much so that we dedicated an entire episode to discussing it: the Rogue One Darth Vader hallway scene. Praised by the majority of Star Wars fans and hailed as one of the best scenes in the franchise, we couldn't help but get a little excited (especially LeeAnn!) while reviewing it. We discuss all the reasons why it is such an effective and impactful scene, why we each personally love it, and also reveal some of the filming techniques used by Gareth Edwards to bring it to life. Among Star Wars fans, we recognize James Arnold Taylor as the voice of Obi-Wan Kenobi in The Clone Wars movie and television series - AND the voice of our podcast intros (we are forever in your debt, James!) However, JAT's talents extend well beyond just this one character. In this episode, we go over several of our favorite works that James has done throughout his lengthy voice acting career, much of which involves voice work in the gaming world. We spend some time geeking out over a few of those videos games, as well as JAT's various television and movie works, all the while singing his praises. As we say farewell to the year 2021, we discuss the influence The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda/Grogu had on all of us this past year. Specifically, we discuss Grogu and his interactions with Ahsoka and Luke, and the theories we have regarding his influence on both, and both Luke and Ahsoka's influence on him. We raise a few interesting points regarding what Grogu saw on the Seeing Stone as well. We wanted to call this episode "Sad Obi-Wan" because we discuss all the horrible things that happened to Obi-Wan in his lifetime, but it seemed too simple for how complex and crazy his life was. In this episode, we list all the instances of bad shit that happened to Obi-Wan Kenobi, beginning from the Prequels and continuing all the way through the Original Trilogy. But! There's a lesson at the end of this episode. A lesson that applies to all, not just Kenobi himself. A lesson that we think needs to be reminded to all: that hardships don't have to define a person's life. It's a person's *perseverance* that ultimately defines their character. 

All Clone Wars fans know the episode arc: Rako Hardeen - the exciting yet heartbreaking plot line where Obi-Wan Kenobi fakes his own death and goes undercover among ruthless bounty hunters. In this episode, we dive into the absolutely CRAZY stuff Obi-Wan does, from stabbing a giant shark-man with a fork, to getting captured by the Hutts, to beating Anakin to a pulp. This story arc is critical to Star Wars because it pushes Anakin further away from the Jedi and right into Sidious's clutches. It's Clone Wars at its finest.

He may be a puppet, and he may only have a handful of lines in Return of the Jedi (most of which are him laughing), but Salacious Crumb is a legend! He's left a mark on all of our hearts for such a simple creature, but there's more than meets the eye when it comes to Salacious and the rest of his species. So this week, we'll not only give love to Salacious B. Crumb, but we'll discuss facts about his species, how George Lucas came up with his name, and hypothesize on the kinds of jokes he made that made Jabba the Hutt love him so much. 

In this episode, we sing the praises of Sam Witwer, whose voice has become synonymous with the animated character of Darth Maul. But Sam’s talent extends far beyond just voicing one of the most infamous villains in Star Wars history, and in this episode, we’ll cover as many of those talents as we possibly can (complete with several tangents!). We love giving credit where credit is due, and this week it’s all about crediting the multifaceted Sam Witwer!

This week we discuss all things "Sith Obi-Wan": would it even be possible? If so, at what moment would Obi-Wan have turned, if he'd gone to the Dark Side? Yes, yes, we know - Obi-Wan would never! George Lucas placed the cave scene in Empire Strikes Back directly at the center mark of the center film of the Original Trilogy for a reason. This week, we discuss why the cave scene is so pivotal: the lore, the theories surrounding its meaning, the importance of Luke's decisions and the vision he has within the cave. Lucas didn't just throw this scene into Empire Strikes Back; he created it with purpose and symbolism that helped drive Luke's journey from that point forward. In this episode, we break down costume design and inspiration when it comes to the Jedi uniform and Obi-Wan Kenobi's costume throughout the films and animations. From medieval to Samurai influences, there are many pieces to a Jedi's uniform and many historical nods - each of which we'll break down as we discuss...but what about the more specific changes in Obi-Wan's Jedi uniform? We'll discuss how he appears when he begins his tale in The Phantom Menace all the way to what he is wearing in the Original Trilogy and what, if any, symbolism is behind these changes.

The definition of a "cinnamon bun" is used to refer to characters described as "Too pure for the world." Meaning: characters with cute, fluffy, caring, kind, and innocent tendencies. Does this sound like Obi-Wan Kenobi to you? We sure as hell don't think so! Many folks online refer to Kenobi as soft and fluffy (and cinnamon-bun'y), but we'll discuss why he is anything but soft and fluffy and is way more bad ass. We'll also discuss how the Kenobi television series may also contribute - or contradict - these thoughts.

This week, we discuss the iconic sound effects within the Star Wars universe (and even a few that are less recognized). We also reveal how Ben Burtt, Star Wars sound designer, created some of the original sounds we know and love from the films - some of which may even surprise you. "You were my brother, Anakin. I loved you!" We all know the scene. It haunts us to this day. So this week, we ask the question: should Obi-Wan have killed Anakin there on Mustafar instead of taking his lightsaber and walking away? We get deep in this episode, exploring the psychological impacts that moment had on both Obi-Wan and Anakin, and what should have - or what could have - happened had different decisions been made. 

Rey Palpatine. Rey Skywalker. But what about Rey Kenobi? This week, we discuss the Sequel trilogy and why Rey could have been, and SHOULD have been, the granddaughter of Obi-Wan Kenobi. A lot of words can be used to describe Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon's relationship, and we'll cover them all in this week's episode. What little we know of Qui-Gon as a character and what little we glean from his and Obi-Wan's brief on-screen relationship leads us in this discussion, but we'll also cover written material and theorize on what we believe was at the heart of these two Jedi's relationship. 

One is a Jedi. One is a Sith. Two very different paths, but with backgrounds that are more alike than you may think. Just how different are these two strong women? We'll dig into the pasts of both Ahsoka Tano and Asajj Ventress and discuss their distinct differences, their surprising similarities, and how their circumstances led them to their eventual paths after their Jedi and Sith days. For our 10th episode, we HAD to highlight our inspiration, our muse, and our hero: Dave Filoni. He's the genius behind many of the Star Wars productions we love and adore, so we wanted to dedicate an episode to him. We highlight his humble beginnings, what inspired him on his way to becoming a key figure within Lucasfilm and Disney, and of course - discuss our own specific reasons as to why we love and adore him. And hey Dave: if you ever want to talk Penguins hockey, LeeAnn is ready! :) Thank you, Dave, for all you've done for Star Wars, and for inspiring us and so many others along the way. The drama of it all! (And we'll discuss all of it!) Korkie Kryze, nephew of Duchess Satine Kryze, has been rumored to actually be the biological son of both Obi-Wan Kenobi and Satine Kryze from their younger life love affair. But......is he? Does Korkie merely resemble Obi-Wan, or do they share the same DNA? Were Satine and Obi-Wan ever truly "lovers", or were they "just a crush"? We'll dig deep into one of The Clone War's greatest speculations.

We're going to the Dark Side this week on Most Things Kenobi! In Episode 7, we discussed what makes a great Jedi, but this week we discuss the Sith Code and delve into who was the best Sith, who manipulated the Force for the darkest means, and how their behavior contrasts to that of a Jedi. So...what DOES make a Sith "great"? We'll answer that question and reveal who is our favorite Sith character and why. Join us!

Sure, the Clone Wars is an animated television show, but is it truly a "kid's show"? We delve into moments that made at least one of our eyebrows rise with regards to this very question. Is it really a kid's show? We'll discuss!
