As a build up to the WRC Safari Rally 2022, we have started a limited podcast series, focusing on this iconic event that will be held from 23rd-26th June.
We go down memory lane and speak to 2 Rally Legends who have made history in the world of motorsport.
We first interview George Mwangi, a second generation Rally legend, who navigated Azar Anwar to the historic Safari Rally victory in 2006. This was a dream come true, having grown up watching his father Mr. John Wairegi tackle Motorsport back in the 60's. Inspired by his father, George went down to the history books as the first and only indigenous Kenyan to have won the Safari Rally.
Finally we speak to Azar Anwar a.k.a. Mzee wa Kazi. He has appeared in 23 Safari Rallies, more than any other driver to date. He is a 3 time Kenyan National Rally Champion and 2008 Motorsport Personality of the year. He shares priceless highlights of his career.

A brand new racing track was opened in Machakos County, Kenya by the area Governor Alfred Mutua.
The circuit will be used for multiple events including rally cross and motocross. To shed more light we speak to Multiple Kenya Rally Champion and reigning African Rally Champion Carl Tundo who is involved in organizing Rally Cross at the new racing track.
2. Extreme Festival in South Africa
The first round of the 2022 National Extreme Festival was held at Zwartkops Raceway in Pretoria. Extreme Festival is the racing home of Global Touring Cars including the GTC SupaCup, Investchem Formula 1600, ZX 10 Masters Superbikes and much more.
