I debated on not releasing today's podcast due to the news we all received yesterday about Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gigi, and their friends that passed away in a tragic accident in California. But we recorded this podcast episode January 23rd on my 35th birthday and I felt like it could help those that are currently grieving and anxious about the future. Music Producers, when you are seeking out tutorials and quick tips on YouTube, what are you TRULY searching for? Beyond that temporary answer you are seeking, what is your ultimate goal and or destination? Is it to become a perfect Music Producer? Is it because you believe that answer to all of your Music Producer problems is the concept of MORE?  What about those elusive questions that you can never seem to get a solid answer to? I believe the reason you haven't unlocked the answer is because you are searching for what can only be found where you are searching FROM. My apologies if this comes off like I am talking in parables but today's episode does a better job explaining exactly what I mean.

Music Producers, over the past few months I've been reading a lot about the power of FLOW STATE. For those that have never heard of FLOW it is often referred to as being in a ZONE. FLOW STATE finds us as Music Producers when we are so fully immersed in our beat making process that we lose track of time and the necessity to overthink the process. Scientist say that when we reach a FLOW a part of our brain called the Pre-Frontal Cortex (Responsible for emotions and overthinking) temporarily shuts down.   For a producer like myself that OVERTHINKS the process often, especially on live streams, this topic intrigues me, Especially when I learned that there's actually a way for us to get to this state on a regular basis. Well, not only did I achieve myself these past few weeks, but I believe that I have figured out a way you too can consistently tap into your Music Producer FLOW STATE.

The past few months I found myself falling deeper and deeper into state of uncertainty. The worst part was that I couldn't quite pinpoint what was driving me down into such a dark hole. In the midst of the dark period I made a commitment to giving myself the self care necessary to turn it all around. I wasn't making any music, but I started doing things like going for daily walks, going to the gym, journaling, and meditating.   However, it wouldn't be until I took a last minute trip to Atlanta for my Producergrind and Cymatics interviews that I was able to get back on track. In this podcast episode I discuss the details of my trip as well as what exactly happened that gave me back my LOVE for making beats again.
