Trust Them
Relationships break apart when trust breaks down. How are you showing that you trust your teenagers? Are you teaching them to trust themselves? How are you building and reinforcing trust with yourself in the process? Trust is a foundational element in all of our relationships and even the most basic human interactions. Let's talk about how it shows up and what it looks like when trust isn't where you might like it to be.

Outsourcing
As you prepare your teenagers to venture out into the world, who is having an impact on their lives? As parents, we are far from the days of organizing playdates, but our kids are still looking to the adults in their lives to be their mentors and guides. Do you know who those adults are? Besides you, the parents, who else is influencing your young adult's attitude, values or outlook on life? It's still important to be intentional about the people your children choose to surround themselves with.

Karyn Seitz is The Happiness Mentor. She teaches a roadmap to happiness built on developing integrity and character as a person in order to find meaning and purpose within. She teaches an online happiness course for women called Awakened Grace.
As a former spiritual healer, Karyn realized her clients were not getting better. She was frustrated that she could not deliver the results her clients wanted even though she was trying lots of different healing modalities and coaching techniques.
Karyn knew she also wasn’t getting the changes she wanted in her life. She secretly lacked any confidence in her ability to change. Her adult life had stalled.
In a fresh new search for answers, Karyn found the missing piece that would ultimately transform her life and her clients. Karyn is now fulfilled in her life and teaches others the same journey she has taken to find herself and be happy.

No Try
Words matter. Words are powerful. How do your words prevent you from keeping your promises? What about your promises to yourself? In this episode, I invite you to notice how often you use the word "try" to avoid making a commitment that might scare you to make.

The Thing Behind the Thing
Have you ever had a raging argument about something that turned out to be extremely trivial? If you're a parent, I bet you've had more than one. In this episode, I talk about what's really underneath those heated, yet silly, battles of wills between parents and children. If you're raising a teenager right now, I challenge you to explore what might be underneath the current topic that's causing drama in your home.

Pain Power
This is an important conversation about why the pain we fear, either for ourselves or for our children, might actually be good for us. You've heard the phrase, "No pain, no gain"? I enjoy this conversation because for some crazy reason, I've managed to grow to love making myself uncomfortable. I'm willing to experience pain for the reward in growth that it gets me. What about you?

Submit
Do you find it uncomfortable to think about submission? Maybe you're like me and the parts of the Bible that talked about a woman's submission and obedience always rubbed you a little bit the wrong way. In this episode, I want to share a little bit of my evolution in thinking about submission. As a woman, as a wife and as a follower of Jesus.

In this episode, I discuss the art-making process, how fragile it is, especially for emerging artists who are still building up their creative confidence, and how focusing on making meaning isn't necessarily the best way to make an impact with a piece of art.

Curious Connection with Sean Stockman
Sean Stockman is one of my favorite people to kick around. From our time together in karate classes to collaborating and networking on a professional level, Sean and I have formed a great friendship. He is passionate about personal growth and professional development, serving and leading others, and changing the way people approach difficult subjects like financial planning and budgeting. His energy and excitement are infectious, and he has so much knowledge, experience and wisdom to share at the same time as he's intentionally opening himself up to new opportunities to learn and grow in new ways. Enjoy the interview, and connect with Sean locally in the Milwaukee area at his Roundtable event or virtually on LinkedIn or inside The Idea Collective.

In the episode, Sean mentions a book: The 12-Week Year, by Brian Moran

Body Image
If I ask you to talk about your body image, what emotions come up? When I asked this question on social media, the responses were about what I expected based on my experience with people, including my own self. Most people have some more negative emotions when they think about their bodies, some were neutral and less than half shared positive feelings. This episode is about body image and about how we choose to put ourselves on display to the world.

It's Not About the Dance
The activities we choose to do and the images of ourselves that we choose to put on display to the world aren't always about what they seem to be about. Dancing on TikTok isn't just about dancing. There are layers to it. This episode talks about curating our online identities and seeking authentic connection. It's not about the dance. Or maybe it is. And there's usually more to it than that.

Life - Everyone Wins
Life doesn't always work out the way you plan. In fact, most of us had some kind of plan set out for us to follow. In this episode, I talk about the map I used and the map I created. What map are you using?

The Gift of Receiving
Many of us have been so caught up in the desire to give others what we have--knowledge, products, services--that we have undervalued the importance of receiving.
Giving and receiving is about flow. If we are constantly pouring out without allowing ourselves to be filled, we become empty, and giving becomes a burden at best, meaningless at worst.
When someone else is offering you a heartfelt gift, the best way to give back to that person is to receive it well.

I'm Rubber, You're Glue
I'm rubber, you're glue. Whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you. As a grown-up, I'm starting to think there's a good reason these stupid rhymes circulate. In this episode, I dive a little bit deeper into this singsong verbal self defense, and challenge you to take a look at where your own biases and blocks are coming up.

Do you want to get well?
We tend to get what we focus on. In this episode I talk about my fifth birthday, a Bible lesson and cows. It's a good one if you're wondering how to get to where you want to go. This question is the one to start with.

The Sound of Silence
Not the best quality audio due to internet connectivity issues. But I put in the time to record it, and I think what I had to say here was important. So, please enjoy the episode as I speak about silence.
