31: The Cost of Curating Beauty
Many months ago, as I began to create storylines and episode ideas for an entire season on Beauty, I came across an interesting dilemma: how to talk about beauty when our world has so many ideas about it? It seemed to be that the only way to have an honest and real discussion about the importance of Beauty in our lives, we have to address the ways the culture has weaponized beauty to cause harm and anxiety.
In today's episode, we dive into the heart of our culture's problem with beauty, and how we can better serve as a model for the gift of True Beauty.

28: Part Two: Praying with Creation
In the second part of our two-part series on creating, Jules tries to answer a question central to her own journey: what now? Now that we understand the spiritual significance of creating with our Creator, what are we to do with the creation itself? How can the creative works of artists also aid us in our spiritual journeys?
In today's episode, we journey with Laurence Pierson, an artist we featured last episode, to understand the spiritual significance of icons, why praying with images is so central to certain Christian traditions, and how we each can integrate the arts into our prayer lives.

Thank you to the Mosleys, for their wonderful song "Running Out the Road," which provided the perfect backdrop for this episode.

04: A Prayer in the Furnace
In our final episode in our series on American Catholic Fiction, I talk with two award-winning authors of fiction about their style of writing and the necessity for some Catholic authors to find their niche writing OUTSIDE of Catholic circles. I can't tell you how much I love this episode and talking to these two amazing authors, Suzanne Wolfe and Phil Klay.

03: Giving Thanks for Dappled Things
After learning about the importance of fiction and one of the greatest literary minds of the modern era, it's time to dive into the modern Catholic literary world! In this episode, we'll talk to Regina Doman (Chesterton Press) and Bernardo Aparacio (Dappled Things) about the importance of the Catholic arts and writing with Catholic audiences in mind.

02: Flannery O'Connor and the Christ-haunted South
Curious about the life and works of one of our country's most esteemed authors? In this episode, experts will try to convince, me, the ultimate Flannery skeptic, about the genius of this fascinating woman and why her writing still matters today.

01: The Case for Fiction
In the first episode of our mini-series on American Catholic fiction, we ask the question of why reading fiction is important for both our spiritual and moral development. We'll talk to experts from all over the country about this topic, including women from one organization who are on a mission to bring fiction back into the daily lives of mothers (and fathers!) all over the country.
