Experienced in the trade since 1987, Shayne Newman founded YardApes, Inc. in 1990 and holds the title of President. Frank Mariani is CEO of Mariani Landscape, which was founded by his father, Vito Mariani, Sr. in 1958. As a recent graduate of the College of Agricultural Sciences at the Pennsylvania State University, Jack Pohutsky is beginning his professional career with R.P. Marzilli in Massachusetts. He studied Landscape Contracting, Design/Build option with a minor in Horticulture. The BA degree encompasses courses such as residential design, plant identification and establishment, and construction fundamentals, and teaches each student the importance of functional installations and client satisfaction. A 20+ year veteran of the professional landscape industry, Jenn Myers brings a unique perspective to her role as Senior Director of Workforce Development at the National Association of Landscape Professionals.  Holding B.S. degrees in Horticulture and Environmental Science from Virginia Tech, Jenn has embraced the wide variety of experiences available in the industry, from digging irrigation ditches and installing seasonal flower displays, to managing staffing for a $50MM full-service landscape contractor, to providing consulting services and recruiting and retention support to landscape businesses across the US and Canada.   Jenn’s love of the industry, and desire to share the plentiful and fulling opportunities available, led her to the national association, where she is tasked with developing and executing the industry’s much needed workforce development initiatives.
