Collecting a total of 5 thousand dollars in cash and prizes. n March 2018, Simmons launched Business Lounge Dallas (BLD), as the only black and female-owned coworking space in the state of Texas. The Power of Your Stories With Our Business Spotlight: Danielle Barbee

The Power of Your Stories With Our Business Spotlight: Danielle Barbee

The 52nd Episode of A News You Can Use Podcast Powered by Be And Us LLC.  Shop our brands and our new title Mommy and Daddy Do You Still Love Me Anymore? by Frenchaire Gardner.   Published by Be And Us LLC and recorded live from Dallas, Texas.  In our Business Spotlight, Danielle Barbee discusses the motivations for starting her tutoring business and much more.   Favorite Book:  The 4 Agreements

Mining for Diamonds: "Don't think you have to have everything right the first time you do something.  I had to make many mistakes and I'll have to make many more in order to grow.  You have to make mistakes in order to grow.  Don't let the fear of not being perfect stop you from doing whatever it is you want to do.  Marketing is KEY!  The more I market I watch my numbers.  I'm a numbers person.  I look at my business numbers as far as revenue and the more I market; the more those numbers go up.  Now when you're looking at a line graph, and you just see it go up.  Don't be afraid to MARKET YOURSELF!  Don't be afraid to say 'Hey this is what I do...'"

Danielle's Bio:   I am Danielle Barbee, The Academic Coach. I am a Math teacher at Liberty High School in Jackson, TN, and the owner of Tailored To Your Learning LLC!   I started out in the education field back in 2010 and taught high school math for 5 years. I was very successful in helping my students close multiple years of achievement gaps and helping them gain confidence.

However, after 5 years of doing that, it became too much for me mentally (I’m sure if you teach, you understand this) and I needed a break. So I began working as a cost analyst with the Missile Defense Agency 🚀 I’m glad I did this because I was able to experience something new, meet new people, and use my logic and analysis skills in a different way

However, I still had a desire to work with students and help them achieve their academic goals.  So I started my tutoring company. With over 11 years of tutoring experience, I’ve successfully helped several students achieve their academic goals from elementary all the way to the collegiate level.   I’ve said all of this to say, I have a story to tell and have experienced several things in my life. I use all of these real-life lessons to help the next student to do and be better than me academically, socially, and emotionally!
