Joining us today on the Finding Center podcast today is Keith Elias.

Keith Elias is a former National Football League player for the New York Giants and Indianapolis Colts as well as a graduate of Princeton University, where he held and still holds numerous school, Ivy League Conference, and national records. He has travelled the world as a motivational speaker . He has spoken in schools in Australia, churches in Thailand, and to the United States Armed Forces both domestically and in Iraq.

Keith speaks to corporations about leadership development and character, and to youth in schools and churches about the power of their choices. He has been increasingly drawn to men’s groups and has a particular desire to speak to men about authentic masculinity, and is a Transition Coach for the NFL Player Engagement Program, where he serves as a Director.

Keith was in town for an event that he put together for the NFL called The Bridge to Success, which focuses on helping former players transition out of the league and, for a lot of the guys, a  game that they have known and loved,since they were 7 and 8 years old. Keith offers some sage advice in here for all of us, whether you played football or not. You’ll hear the ten biggest challenges in sports transition. But I believe, on a different timeline, these challenges come in every line of work and for most individuals at some point or another.

We get real with our own stories and struggles, and share how we made it through the transition. We talk depression, identity, ego, finances, relationships and what is a massive learning curve that ultimately goes in to finding our versions of happiness at the end of an intense period of time in our lives.

I challenge you, when Keith is talking about NFL players, to see how this relates to your life in some way or another. Football is the language that football players speak when we get together. We can’t help it. But, through your lens, I think you’ll find some sage advice on self-love, spirituality, marriages. and child-rearing. Those words are universal.
