S2 E4 - Food
Today on the Ta Leme podcast, it’s all about food, food and more food. Follow this podcast, as we introduce different food hot spots that you may have not heard of before. Helping us provide you with such food places is our newest addition to our Ta Lame Team, Natalia, who is also part of the Nugas committee. S2 E3 - Learning different languages.
On today’s Ta Leme episode we were joined by one of our own Nugas committee members, who also happens to be in charge of marketing, Billy Battista.
Billy, was more than welcoming to share with us his experience learning Japanese throughout high school and well into his degree at Melbourne University. It was incredible to hear how amazing the Japanese language is and how it differs so much from not only English and Greek as well.

S2 E1 - Life as a primary school teacher, straight out of university.
On today's Ta Leme episode we had the lovely Eirini Kourtai join us to discuss her experiences at Deakin University and how they helped her transition into full time work as a primary school teacher. She provided us with detail and insight into her world as an educator in an Australian school and how Deakin prepared her for it. It was amazing to find out just how much effort goes into making sure the younger generation gains the knowledge required for the years to come. Καλώς ήρθατε σε ένα ακόμη Τα Λέμε επεισόδιο που σας παρουσιάζει η Εθνική Ένωση Ελληνοαυστραλών Φοιτητών!
Στο δεύτερο και τελευταίο κομμάτι με θέμα τα Ρεμπέτικα, συζητάμε ακόμη μια φορά με την Ελισάβετ Σταυρινού για τους πιο εικονικούς Ρεμπέτες στην ιστορία. In this week’s episode, our host Denise is joined by special guest Dimosthenis Manasis, Director/Instructor at <> School of Greek Dance and Culture, the largest Greek dance school in Australia and arguably even the Greek diaspora. In Part One of our conversation, we discuss Greek dance and its implications for culture and multiculturalism in Australia, specifically its role in keeping cultural identity alive. In doing so, Dimosthenis reveals the journey from where his dance school began, particularly through his father Alkis’ influence, and we discuss the evolution and changing nature of Greek dance. We also go back to basics and discuss the ways in which our Greek-Australian community is engaged through balls, panigiria and the like - with Greek music and dance at the forefront of keeping the youth interested and excited about our identity.
