In the Zumba world, it’s kind of a really, really, big deal. Having met Giovanna years ago, it makes me very happy to see her rise up the Zumba ranks and become a full blown Zumba presenter. Thousands and thousands of people are learning from and using her original choreo! Dude, that’s crazy!  If you are a Zumba instructor, aside from owning the company like Beto, this is as huge as you can get, and our local Kew Gardens instructor made it there! That’s just amazing. On this episode I will talk about a topic I try to stay away from because it's so sensitive. I share a few of my thoughts on suicide and how I've survived all these years despite what I believe is some form of depression mixed with suicidal tendencies. We also talk about how to stay healthy with exercise, coping with regret and trying to be present in the moment.

I have always been an all or nothing type of person when it comes to training. That's why I fluctuate between the extremes of really fit or really fat. It is very hard for me to see anything but black and white when it comes to this space. The grey area is very difficult for me to find. However, I work hard everyday to try and find it. Here are the latest steps I've taken on that journey to equilibrium.

Over the years, at one point or another I have considered cosmetic surgery. I am human after all. I've witnessed quite a few friends do these types of surgeries with zero complications. However, I personally know of at least two people who actually lost their lives because of it. At the end of the day, for myself, I felt that the dangers associated with cosmetic surgery were not worth the potential benefits. In this episode, let's do a deep dive into this topic.

I walk my dog every single day. For the most part my interactions while walking her are pleasant. But sometimes people have human expectations from my dog and then things get awkward. I candidly explore that dynamic.

So for only the second time in NYC history, we have elected a black man as NYC mayor. Perhaps you wonder why we make a big deal of this or why we mention his race so often and it is quite simple really. The fact that it is only the second time is in and of itself my response to you. It is very rare occurrence and that should speak volumes as to why we emphasize it. In any case, I wish Eric Adams much success in his new role as mayor. His success is our success. I voted for Adams because I believed he was the candidate that was most balanced and likely to restore order here in NYC in a way that is fair to all parties involved.

So my wife and I encountered a rude lady on the subway. This wasn't an overt or extremely obvious situation, it was more discreet and subtle. Listen in to get a rare look at how I can be when I feel someone has pushed a bit too far. Spoiler alert, I did not choke anyone out.

Next month we will be holding the NYC Mayoral election. The two top candidates are Eric Adams as the Democrat and Curtis Sliwa as the Republican. Now you would think that by default Eric Adams is going to be our Mayor, I'm sure that's what everyone is thinking. But to this I say, think back to the 2016 Presidential election. It was then too assumed that Hillary Clinton was going to be our next and first female president. However, despite everyone's beliefs and much to our disappointment, America had other plans. My message to Eric Adams is that he is not like Hillary Clinton in that capacity. Don't assume you've won, don't assume we are going to vote for you by default. I've invited both Eric Adams and Curtis Sliwa on the podcast, neither has responded or even acknowledged my existence. I did meet Eric in my building once so I thought he might get with your boy, but nah, it ain't happening. I was a very jealous and possessive man when I was younger. I mean it was really bad. My middle sister got the worst of it growing up because I was really overprotective with her and boys. In dating, it was also present for a very long time. I don't think that it ever truly goes away, but you learn to ignore and control the demon.
