Social Classes: Shows the differences in the life experience of three male babies from three different social classes. One young man succeeds his father as president of the family manufacturing company. Another, a middle-class white-collar worker at the same company, leaves the town of his birth and moves to New York City where he becomes a respected advertising art director, thus rising in social status. A third, born into the working class, train as a mechanic and holds an influential job at a service station. The sociological tone of the film does not mask a sobering narrative of the limitations that social class divisions inflict on all Americans.

Jeff Bernier has been providing personalized financial advice to individuals and families since 1986. After starting his career with a large firm where he felt there were limited products and services available, he made the decision to form his registered investment advisory (RIA) firm, TandemGrowth Financial Advisors, LLC. This gave Jeff the freedom to offer the holistic, objective advice that he believes his clients need and deserve. Three decades later, he couldn’t be prouder of his team and the firm’s continued dedication to their clients and their financial planning. In addition, Jeff enjoys sharing his experiences as a frequent speaker and published author. He often covers tax planning strategies, retirement income distributions, and asset allocation for business executives, retirees, and long-term investors. His new book release, The Money and Meaning Journey, shows that it is possible for wealth and meaning to grow together in your life’s second act. That it is possible to create wealth and use it to benefit your life, your family, and your surrounding community. Jeff Bernier walks readers through the process of uncovering “what matters most” and offers a toolkit for managing money in the second act of their lives through goal-focused investing, tax planning, and estate planning.

A 1965 film shows Americans living in mountain hollows, at the end of rutted dirt roads, and in bypassed communities as they tell about their problems, deprivations, and hopes. The irony of this presentation is that many people in rural and urban areas still face poverty. What happened in the past has not been addressed in depth today.

The critically acclaimed author of nonfiction books for children, and winner of a prestigious Sibert Honor for the best informational book written in English, Patricia Newman empowers her readers to seek connections to the real world and to use their imaginations to act on behalf of their communities.  Using social and environmental injustice as inspiration for books, such as Planet Ocean, Patricia frequently speaks at schools and conferences to share how children of any age can affect change.   Yet, Patricia came late to writing as a profession, though she was always fascinated by nature. Growing up in Vermont, she was an "outdoor" kid, who planted trees with her dad and tried to save fish. She was also a serious book "nerd,” who raked leaves holding a book." At Cornell University, she pursued a child development major and later taught remedial math. Writing as a job, never crossed her mind.   Newman spent a lot of time reading picture books to her two kids. One day her mother-in-law surprised her by saying, "you can do this." The revelation led to a long apprenticeship figuring out what kids (and editors) want and then how to write it. She found time to write during her kids’ karate and tennis lessons. While working on a book, Newman "may not know where she's going until she's there." But she's pursuing nature, writing about topics that resonate. "I write about things that make me angry. I want to figure out how to fix them and to encourage others to help me."  Patricia's nonfiction books for children have been welcomed in classrooms and libraries around the country.  Considered one of the best nonfiction authors writing for students in today's market, her new release A River's Gifts received starred reviews in Kirkus and Booklist, and is a Kirkus Reviews Best Picture Book of 2011. Additional distinguished titles include Planet Ocean (Orbis Pictus Recommended, The Best Children's Books of 2021-Holiday Gift Edition, The Bank Street Center for Children's Literature)  Sea Otter Heroes (Robert F. Sibert Honor, Outstanding Science Trade Book, Bank Street Center for Children's Literature Best Children's Books of the Year)  Zoo Scientists to the Rescue (Eureka! Gold Award, Bank Street Center for Children's Literature Best Children's Books of the Year)  Plastic, Ahoy! (Green Earth Book Award, AAAS/Subaru Science Books and Film Prize, finalist)  Neema's Reason to Smile (Parents' Choice Recommended).

His restraint from giving up on life led him to pursue all that was in his hands to not settle for subpar health. Fueled by a purpose-driven passion to live beyond a 3-year diagnosis, Clark took it upon himself (physically and financially) to prioritize health and wellness.

Our scheduled guest is Erin Harrigan. This is her statement:  The heart of my business is applying biblical truth to business to help ambitious women in business to redefine hustle and pursue success in God's way. By learning to tune out the world, tune into God's truth and turn up focus, they're able to walk out His assignment in the marketplace with clarity, serenity, and fulfillment.  My message is based on my own testimony as a recovering driver, striver, and achievement chaser. As I like to say, I was an ambitious woman who got lost on her way to the "top," found Jesus and He said, "how about you hold this map (the Bible) and let me drive?" I was 46 when I was saved, and that decision has changed everything, including how I view and do business.  I believe this is a message that women of faith in any leadership role will embrace because the idea of bridging faith and business (or leadership) often seems radical in today's world.
