A Guided Meditation to Help with Anxiety & Panic
Everything changes. Change is the only thing we can rely on in life to remain the same. Help is always available if we're willing to receive it. In my last two podcasts I discussed phobias and anxiety - where I suggested several ways one could receive help including techniques to help oneself. In keeping with this genre, Podcast 29 is a guided meditation to help you reduce anxiety and panic. The meditation is a tool to help focus your conscious mind to direct your subconscious to reduce worry.
And speaking of change, this podcast concludes my first season. I'm taking a break to finish my book. Thank you for listening to my work. The podcasts are designed to provide increased clarity and confidence. I encourage you to revisit them time and again to develop new patterns of thinking.
I can't think of one person I know who hasn't experienced anxiety in some form over the course of their life.
According to Healthline.com, it effects are far reaching and manifest as: a sense of doom, panic attacks, depression, headaches, irritability, breathing problems, a pounding heart, loss of libido, an upset stomach (I say an unhappy gut!), extreme fatigue and muscle aches & pains.
Whoa! I've experienced all of these at various stages of my life. And given the life I've led, that is no surprise.
In this podcast, I discuss my anxiety and the various ways that have helped me. I do this in hope that my journey can help you.
Life will continue to deliver circumstances that cause anxiety, so it's important to have a toolkit at your disposal that can help you ride the waves in tumultuous times.

If you are or have experienced a phobia, this podcast will be of interest to you. Know, you are not alone. Approximately 10% of people in the USA experience phobias. They are more common in women than men. They are the most common anxiety disorder. In the UK, an estimated 10 million people have phobias.
Many people with a phobia don’t need treatment and avoiding the object of their fear is enough to control the problem. However, it may not always be possible to avoid certain phobias such as birds or insects (as they are plentiful) or flying… my mother-in -aw did. She was so frightened of flying she avoided it all her life. She wouldn’t go anywhere in the world that she couldn’t get to by car, boat or plane.
Phobias can hold us back from enjoying life. I recently read that almost 1/3 of people in the UK say their fear of spiders causes them to think twice before visiting destinations such as Australia, home to some of the most venomous eight-legged creatures on the planet.
In this podcast, I discuss my experience with phobias, personally and as an NLP practitioner. I hope you find my words helpful and it provides you with the impetus to seek help because it’s out there. I know this for sure.

A Man With a Mission
Jos may have been a shy little boy, but he sure can communicate now!
Jos is the founder of the MindSpring Institute in the Netherlands. He is also a trainer at British Hypnosis Research in London. Most impressively, this year he published his first book, Stephen Brooks and the Art of Compassionate Ericksonian Hypnotherapy that is currently listed as # 2 by Bookauthority.org. He is hopeful that many practitioners will learn from it. I did.
For the last 15 years, Jos has been practicing and teaching Ericksonian hypnotherapy and NLP, integrating the two approaches with EMDR, Solution Focused Therapy and Neurosemantics. Given the uniqueness of his methodology he chooses to work with clients in person.
His purpose in life is facilitating others in healing their wounds, overcoming their fears and achieving their goals and dreams. He is a vessel to facilitate those shifts. Oh, yes, he can!

This podcast is about the relationship between the conscious and unconscious mind. Why should you care? The connection between the two minds is powerful. We program into our unconscious what we consciously focus on. The unconscious mind dutifully obeys and will find creative ways to attain what you program into it. It perceives and feels and is a multi-tasker while the conscious mind is linear and thinks in terms of cause and effect. The unconscious runs the show. It holds memories, experiences, wisdom and insight we’ve gained over the years. It runs all our bodily systems. Yet is takes orders from the conscious mind. The conscious mind is the captain of the ship. Where we sail depends on it.
