The topic of sales can sound daunting, foreign, and not something we signed up for when we decided to become photographers but it's something we use and incorporate whether or not we have our own businesses or not.  We as photographers are from so many different walks of life with varying experiences. We thought if we could bring value from our past and share it with fellow photographers, we would be more successful together. This is why we started this podcast and this community in the first place.  In this episode, Eugene is our educator! Our first listener suggestion and it's an important one. It's inevitable that will feel some sort of imposter syndrome, especially in the creative field of wedding photography. We define what imposter syndrome is, what the five different types are, whether we associate or suffer from any of the five types, our experiences with imposter syndrome, and how we overcome these feelings. Ever wonder what happens after a wedding or a session ends? The hundreds or thousands of images taken, where do they go, and what happens to them? It's weird to be wrapping up our year when we have only done three episodes. But at the same time this was the best year for all three of us regarding our own businesses. Going to Banff was an amazing experience, more so for Eugene and John, because it was the first time visiting. We’ve been given 3000 imaginary dollars each!!! Often time in business, it is important to invest. How we will invest will vary depending on the business owner's priority. Sometimes purchasing new gear will help us capture images more cleanly in not so ideal situations. Investing in back-end equipment such as a new laptop will help us speed up our work process. Or spending on education could boost our creativity and sense of safety. Investing back into the business before the year ends is a good way to save on tax as well, as many countries prefer business growth to collect tax. When businesses grow, not only the business is making more money and paying more tax in the long run, but also the business can hire people creating job opportunities for the city and the country, which will then equate to more tax.
