Hebrews 11:32 - 12:2 - And what more shall I say? For time would fail me to tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets - who through faith conquered kingdoms, enforced justice, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, were made strong out of weakness, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight. Women received back their dead by resurrection. Some were tortured, refusing to accept release, so that they might rise again to a better life. Others suffered mocking and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were killed with the sword. They went about in skins of sheep and goats, destitute, afflicted, mistreated - of whom the world was not worthy- wandering about in deserts and mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. "He Is Risen and Has Come For Us" Pastor Brian Lane

Matthew 28:1-10 Early on Sunday morning, as the new day was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went out to visit the tomb. Suddenly there was a great earthquake! For an angel of the Lord came down from heaven, rolled aside the stone, and sat on it. His face shone like lightning, and his clothing was as white as snow. The guards shook with fear when they saw him, and they fell into a dead faint. Then the angel spoke to the women. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying. And now, go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and he is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there. Remember what I have told you.” The women ran quickly from the tomb. They were very frightened but also filled with great joy, and they rushed to give the disciples the angel’s message. And as they went, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they ran to him, grasped his feet, and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t be afraid! Go tell my brothers to leave for Galilee, and they will see me there.”

But our heavenly Father did not abandon him to the grave; on the third day he raised him up again.

"Failure: Jesus is Denied by Peter" Madison Kelly

Jesus is not surprised by Peter’s denials or his weak faith. Jesus has always seen the true Peter, and he knew that Peter would deny him three times that night. He continued to love Peter while all along seeing his weakness and sin. Similarly to Peter, we all have times where we fail to let our faith be enough. Yet in these times, Jesus looks past our failures and loves us fully.

The mortality of man, the symbolisms, the doctrines of Christ, Salvation, etc. We also observe the tragic sacrifice. The brutality, mocking, shaming, and degrading of the Son of God. But Jesus’ sacrifice let’s all of mankind know: God doesn’t just see this and acknowledge from afar. He, too, out of love for us, entered into our condition and has endured.

We are launching a devotional podcast! We will be sharing short episodes between 5-10 minutes twice a week starting in January 2021 to encourage you, to comfort you, and to draw your focus onto the person of Jesus Christ.

After a year of anxiety and division in 2020, we wanted to produce something that would speak life into our community by our community.

We are excited to be launching this podcast, and we hope it will bless you and that the peace of Jesus will rest on you as you listen.
