How do we face opposition to rebuilding?
Last week I introduced the idea that we will need to rebuild when this is all done. And we covered some things we can do to aid the rebuilding process. Well now I Want to talk about the opposition to rebuilding. And we will do some more jumping around the book of Nehemiah like we did last week. But right now, I want to also say a quick disclaimer. I am not going to tout any conspiracy theories or ideas I may have about the government or society. These oppositions are high level, and yes, the examples may be based off current events.

Don’t just stand there listening, get doing! – James 1:22-25
How many of you have experienced this scenario: Your mom or dad has sat you down and is instructing you on how to do something, but then stops in the middle of the instruction to say “are you even listening to me?” To which many of you would reply “Yes I’m listening” your parent then goes on to keep talking. They finish and then send you off to do the task, to which, surprise surprise, you heard your mom/dad, but you weren’t actually listening. So now you’ve run into the problem, you need to go ask them again about what they were talking about. You heard but then forgot what you needed to know.
Now this is a scenario many of us have experienced or will experience. It’s not enough to just hear something. We need to be active listeners of God’s word. And I want us to cover another lesson from James, so we are going to turn to James 1:22-25. We covered this in a very simple sense for the Snow camp recap.
We’ve all heard these verses talked about at one point or another. But really what is James getting at with this verse? Lets dig in and find out!
Today we are introducing the first episode of the PluggedIn Mobile podcast, join us as we jump into the book of James.
