BrewnvsReviews and I chat with comic creator and ComicBook.com journalist Adam Barnhardt on his comic "Macabre Mel: Wicked Salvation." In this episode, we talk about the story of "Macabre Mel" and about how the comic sheds light on the nuances of morality that some characters experience.   Adam is no stranger to comic books as he has written the comics "Sh*tshow." His latest comic takes place between "Sh*tshow no. 2" and "Sh*tshow no. 3" and the synopsis is "Macabre Mel once found herself trampled to death by the demon Balam (SH*TSHOW #2), and her soul was captured by Mustru-Ratu, the timelord that watches over The Plane Eternal (SH*TSHOW Shorts #1).  The good news is, Mustru-Ratu can return Mel to her body. The only thing she needs to do seems simple enough—travel to Hell and defeat Lucifer, effectively laying claim to the Sword of Serepynthia, an ancient relic Mustru-Ratu has had his eyes on for millennia."

In this late episode, I speak with Serena Sanchez about her comic "Black Rhapsody" a "black & white horror/cult thriller comic.  The comic "is about magical idols named after mythological goddesses fighting an uphill battle to overthrow an evil pop star from the music charts, and save the world." Many comic book fans know Dwayne McDuffie as a comic book writer and the creative mind behind animated shows like "Justice League," "Justice League Unlimited" and "Ben 10 Alien Force." Some also known him as one of the founding father's of Milestone Comics. But did you know that in December 12, 1989, he made a pitch to Marvel Comics about a group of African-American teenagers possessing "cosmic-powered skateboards?" Enter the "Teenage Negro Ninja Thrashers" the comic that never was. 

I give you my commentary/monologue on Dwayne McDuffie's spoof comic pitch/proposal of the comic "Teenage Negro Ninja Thrashers." Personally, I think this pitch was pure genius and it shows McDuffies wit and humor.

This episode is a part of the Black History Month series in which I give my commentary on comics centered around Black History. The first comic I commentate is "Incognegro," a story of a light-skinned African-American reporter, who poses as a white man to expose the racism and corruption around him." 

In this episode, I discuss what inspired me to read this story. I also discuss  the plot, the characters, the writing and art of this graphic novel. "Incognegro" was written my Mat Johnson and illustrated by Warren Pleece and published by DC Comics' publisher Vertigo.

In this first episode of the new year, I give my commentary of the Marvel's Star Wars Comic character Beilert Valance, the ex Imperial TIE Fighter and Stormtrooper turned ruthless cyborg bounty hunter. I dissect the character of Valance from his childhood, his days as an Imperial Cadet rivaling a young Han Solo, and his career as a cyborg bounty hunter! I also talk about the behind the scenes origin of Valance!

In this episode, I interview comic writer Christian Ochoa on his comic book, "Journey to the Top of The Food Pyramid Book 1: Grain Chamber." We talk about the process behind creating the comic which is one half comic book story and another half, a recipe for creating the comic. We also talk about the creation of Comical Foods and our love for food and more food!

In this episode, I chat with Jeremiah Esponoza and J. Schiek on the comic "Hallowed North #1 - Dark Fantasy Comic about Mental Illness." We touch a lot on  this comic but on mental health. Both Jeremiah and J. share their experiences with mental health. Jeremiah talks about how he used some aspects of his experience as a inspiration for this comic. J. also discusses who is an influence on his art. 

I speak with Scott Dunn on the latest episode about Soda and Telepath's project "End of the World!" which is an anthology of apocalyptic stories being produced on Kickstarter. We speak about the comic book anthology and Scotts transition from playwright to comic writer.  "Producing the End of the World" anthology is the first time that Scott's comic will be published!

In the seventh episode of Season 3, I review Mad Cave Studios Nottingham #1 which is the retelling of the Robin Hood folklore. The roles of hero and villain are told in reverse. The Sheriff of Nottingham is the protagonist who is investigating a slew of tax collector murders carried out by the Hood (Robin Hood) and his band of Merry Men.
