Interview With People Leaders : KV Srinivasan Season 1 Episode 1
#PeopleLeaders - KV Srinivasan "Difference between a good company and a bad company is essentially the quality and the commitment of its people." - KV Srinivasan
So, What does it take for a company to succeed when all other factors are at par?
It’s PEOPLE. No matter what business you’re in, the human element is omnipresent. The people in your company will ultimately determine the success or failure of the business. Your people are the most important asset! Engaged Employees can improve profitability by up to 21%. In conversation with KV Srinivasan who managed to raise $220 million within a year of founding Profectus Capital, a non-banking finance company and headed Reliance Commercial Finance for nearly a decade.
When I asked KV Srinivasan, CEO, Profectus Captial, how he managed to create an atmosphere where people are self-motivated and enjoy challenges at work, he emphasized two points:
1. Empower your employees by providing them elbow room to make their own decisions this in turn will increase their innovation and productivity.
2. The extent of Communication has to be very strong and transparent. Even during difficult times, if the leaders are seen to be impartial and neutral, and are able to convey the importance of the company’s survival as the only goal that itself is a source of inspiration for the employees.
None of these things can be implemented overnight. It takes time to develop trust and company culture. Invest the time and effort to make your company the best employer ever and it will pay off.
