From Pre-Med to Med School: The Admissions Officer's Perspective

As a student from a minority group, he managed to overcome some challenges and get into Medical School.
Jordan Juarez is currently an MD/MBA Candidate at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and the Co-Director for the Latino Medical Student Association Northeast – LMSA NE is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that represents more than 40 local medical school LMSA chapters from Washington D.C. to Maine and represents more than 1,000 medical student members. In this episode, Jordan will be sharing a little bit of his story, sharing some of the challenges he faced as a minority student and how he overcame them. He will also explain why he decided to be a doctor and share some valuable pieces of advice to pre-med students.

Is Medical School my only option ?
In today's episode, we will talk with Rafaella Stein, a Ph.D. student at the USF College of Public Health. Rafa will be sharing a little bit of her story and showing how Medical School is not the only option for students with an interest in healthcare. She started her undergraduate as a pre-med student but ended up falling in love with research.
Rafa will also share some advice to pre-med students, as well as things she wished she had done differently during her pre-med years.

For this episode, we invited a special guest, Nicole Martuscelli, a fourth-year medical student at Sidney Kimmel Medical School - Thomas Jefferson University. Here she will be talking about her pre-med journey, what made her choose medicine, and give us some pieces of advice she wished she had known before. She will also break down her application process and tell us some of the questions she was asked at her interview.
