What’s a good place to start troubleshooting? A guy told me he adjusts the lifters on a 602 at 1/8 of a turn pre load because the engine is cold and the lifter isn’t pumped up yet. Would that classify him as an idiot?? What should some one look out for when going the 604 road. Used needing a freshened vs new?

Steve is there any advantage of a 602 create engine .020 overbore then a stock bore size? Kate are you able to ship to Aussie yet? On a 604 do the valve keepers/locks vary in degrees from the stock diameter springs to the beehive spring and when setting the installed height they call for (1.780) how important is it to get it as close to that installed height (over or under)? What do you think about the Quick Silver engine Steve? Any ideas why my back 4 plugs are a lot darker than the front 4 on a 602 running 93 octane? I have a 602 in a latemodel david smith e85 carb msd distributor and 34 degrees timing. It seems lazy on starts and restarts but runs fine everywhere else. What are the differences other then price? We run dirtcar Sportsman here in n.y. Bicknell Racing Products sells 1/4" spacers. We had a 1" and were told the 1/4" is better. Seems to be better but wondered what you thought? I run a 1/4" carb spacer. Is that better than 1"? Car gets hot in a matter of a few laps. Like 220 in 6 laps from 140. Plugs look good. Sport mod open motor. 36 degrees of timing. 77 jets on a 4412 2 barrel(same as last year with no issues). Jones pulley setup. 5.875" water pump pulley. 5.5" crank pulley. Was running jones 3 blade fan. Switched to racefan 4 blade after first night. Radiator is brand new. Running restrictions in place of thermostat. What else should I check? I just bought a 14 race old 602 it has button seals. Valve springs supposed to be 3 races old. Ran in a modified. Going to run in latemodel. What are some things I need to check before I crank it? Tell me a little more about the 602 carb on the restrictor where to get and size? Is it better to run alternator or not? The hubs rotate about 5-6 times freer now (went from about 2 rotations just from a single push of my hand to 10-12) than they did before which I was happy about. But when I hooked the brakes back up there was so much brake drag that the end result didn’t seem to make a difference (back down to two rotations of the hub from a push from my hand). My dad downplays the benefit of the spacers and says that brake drag is normal. So should I leave things the way they are or is there something I can/should do to make this better? Moisture affects some of the fuel to air ratio .. You mentioned earlier that jetting is not recommended... But engines here seem to want a jet change as day turns to night...Something recommended What’s the best oil to run with a 602? With a anti reversion on a 604 crate latemodel with schoenfield headers do you recommend any exhaust past the anti reversions? How much permatex should I use as a header gasket? You just said not to run pipe past the reversion muffler. I run pavement and was wondering if I’m wasting my money using them if I run 36” straight pipes after the reversion? How many race days should we get on our 602 before we rebuild we run 50 lap races on 1/4 to 3/8 mile oval? How many races before a 602 should be refreshed? How much total ignition time we run 35? Steve, besides the obvious bolt pattern difference, what's the difference between crate headers and standard 23 degree? Steve on the 525 you done for me the last 2 races we have run my headers have been glowing red but never before ?? Any suggestions ?? Best balancer or damper for a 602 in a asphalt modified? On a 602 crate motor... There has been talk in our pits about jet coating the headers.. Pros an cons? at what compression ratio do u need to start running good gas i have a open 355 with just some flat top pistons 9.5 10 to 1 area with dart sportsman heads i red somewhere that the 602s ran just as good or better on the low octane gas so i been running 93 and haven't noticed that much difference question is really at what compression ratio do u benefit from the higher octane an will it hurt my motor running on the 93? What do u think about the kit that take the wind out of crank case?

Is it a advantage to replace the new springs for a matched set.. or should I just run the factory set then upgrade later? What do you think the new ct525 bumped rpm to 7500 in Usra mods is going to do to us? Do they make a oil primer on like an oberg to prime the motor with a drill instead of using the starter?
