On episode 91 of Inside the SCCA -- we begin our month long tribute to the women who are such a big part of the SCCA. SCCA's Women on Track initiative honors 31 women during the month of March -- which is Women's History Month.  One of this year's honorees is Dee Schweikle. She's a three time Solo National Champion and she's a 100 Percenter.  That means she's competed at every Solo Nationals since the first in 1973 in St. Louis.

On episode 43 of Inside the SCCA I chat with the club's VP of Road Racing Eric Prill about the new Green-To-Checker initiative. Many drivers have expressed concern about some of the driving in the early races of 2022 and in some cases the resulting limited green flag time during race weekends. Eric has started to collect and analyze incident data from recent Super Tour events. He's also opened up the conversation about what can be done to keep the green flag in the air. The goal is to look at what's going on -- try to learn from the data -- and listen to the ideas from drivers and race officials; to come up with some ways to minimize the time on track under full course yellow and stopped races. On this episode I asked Eric some questions sent to me from our listeners -- and some of my own as well. I think you'll find the conversation eye opening. He also helps out in timing and scoring and wherever else he's needed... of course he does... he's a Marine. The SCCA Hall of Fame -- it's an esteemed panel of people instrumental in the growth and success of the club. Drivers, race officials, tech gurus -- some famous -- others not as much. Many just regular folks who dedicated a good portion of their life to the sport and club we all love. My guest on Episode 41 is not only an SCCA Hall of Famer... he's now one of the people who help find the next generation of hall of famers. Dennis Dean has been a mainstay in the world of motorsports officiating for more than 40 years... from scrutineer to chief steward and race director of the SCCA Runoffs to stewarding for our sport's world governing body, the FIA. Dennis represents the best of what it means to be an SCCA member. We had a great conversation about his career as a race official... including what it's like to be a Formula One Steward. We also talk about the process of how SCCA Hall of Fame members are selected.
