KATHA SAFALATHAKO - is a career guidance testimony series in collaboration with Rotary Darjeeling and Radio Salesian 90.8 FM. In this episode we feature DEEPANKAR TULADHAR from Darjeeling. He did schooling from St. Paul’s Darjeeling and graduated (B.Tech in Civil Engineering) from Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology as a Gold Medallist. Civil Engineering is one of the fields where one’s work is tangible and stays for centuries to credit. I was a part of the Engineering Team in IL&FS and looked after various prestigious projects including the Kolkata Metro Rail Project. He returned and co-founded Nexgen Constructions where he uses skills to design and build structures which are economical yet perfectly safe. As a Chartered Engineer, his goal is to integrate these components pragmatically and bring about a radical change in this industry. Fulfilment comes when we live our lives with purpose! He enjoys painting, football and an occasional game of chess.

Lepcha Nomenclatures in Maayel Lyaang. In this program RJ JILBERT teaches Lepcha language beginning with the alphabets. He then teaches the names of the parts of the body and to count in Lepcha langauge.

RJ JILBERT LEPCHA from Kalimpong presents an hour long show on Lepcha language and culture interspersed with some lovely and lively Lepcha folk songs. The program is entitled: Thupay Amuring -01. He says, Lepcha Language is the one of the ancient languages of the Himalayas. It is believed that Lepcha speakers are about 1.5 lakhs in West Bengal. Lepcha language is spoken in North Bengal specially Kalimpong and Darjeeling District, as well as Sikkim, Eastern Part of Nepal and South Western part of Bhutan. Lepcha Language is an independent language with its own script. The Deed Paper between Sikkim Maharaja and the British East India Company was written in Lepcha Language. Lepcha Language was an official language during British Administration up to 1911. There is no any abusive words in Lepcha language. It is the language with natural sound. When you speak you will feel eternal peace and happiness. Lepcha Language is also called as 'Rumring' which means language of God.
