Embrace Your Inner Weirdo: Podcast with an Attitude

Sharon was born in England to parents who were from Trinidad and Barbados.

She grew up in the Caribbeans where the majority of the people looked like her but were still treated as lesser.

She has traveled to and lived in Europe where she initially worked in, and later taught journalism.

Currently, she lives in Barbados and is an activist in the field of anti-racism, tolerance, and inclusion.

Simone was born in The Netherlands and brought up by a single mother. As a child, she had a dream to be in show biz that she never gave up on.

As a teenager, she would take a ferry from Holland to England and work to become a singer. One thing led to another and she became the youngest VJ in MTV's history.

At the peak of her showbiz career, she gave up everything and moved to the jungles of Belize, and reinvented herself along with her husband. "The things we do for love," as the old song goes.

After another 20 years or so, she is reinventing herself again and pulling on her connections from showbiz.

Life is ever so interesting when you are willing to Embrace Your Inner Weirdo.

Mitchell was influenced by his dad, who created a game of his own when Mitchell was young.

He grew up playing board games and solving puzzles and enjoyed the challenge. His dad's creative influence led him to experiment with playing games as an only child in the house.

Mitchell also had a hearing impediment which made life interesting and challenging for him as he grew up.

All this led to him becoming an introvert and living in his head, where he created multiple personalities that he used to his advantage.

Today, he has carved a niche for himself where he does what he loves serving his clients who pay him handsomely for the geeky stuff he does.

Nicki, aka Tatiara, was introduced to what may be termed as "New Age woo woo" at a very early age. She was reading Carl Jung and mystical psychology when she was just ten years old.

At 15, she started working at, what she called, a "witchy herb shop" and felt right at home. She became an apprentice in Tarot & energetic readings and essential oils.

Today, as the owner of Tarot with Tatiara, she offers insight, hope, and power through her tarot, clairvoyant, and past life readings. She offers custom essential oil blends based on your online zoom reading, as well as intuitive and archetypal insight.

Tatiara specializes in online past life and tarot readings, offering the querent a look at their probabilities and current trajectories enabling them to make informed decisions and changes and to create their desired outcomes.

She also gives people tools to correct their unconscious energy patterns through archetypal awareness and personal mythic correspondences.

Aaron Whitfield is an educator a t a major university where he is developing a curriculum to help students focus on their potential.

He is also a creator in the field of music and fashion.

By bridging the cultural and social gap between children from various backgrounds, he believes we can unleash the potential greatness in the leaders of tomorrow.

Nicole claims that she was born a weirdo. While in elementary school she was asking herself, "How do I get out of this place?"

At seventeen she had her chance as an exchange student and moved from New York to San Palo, Brazil.

She met the indigenous people of the Lower Amazon valley and was immersed in art and spirituality.

Upon returning to the States she moved to California to attend college but decided to pursue her passion for art which she inherited from her father.

Today she is an accomplished artist creating exclusive art in the traditional Japanese style, where a piece could take up to a year to create.

Uncle Dave was born in San Antonio, Texas, and before he could say "howdy y'all" his parents moved to Brooklyn, New York.

He grew up in Brooklyn in typical New York way loving baseball and all things Brooklyn.

he has a podcast called Peace, Love, and Bring a Bat, but it's not about violence. It's about taking a stand.

Holly Jahangiri took a couple of college courses during the summer when she was 12. At 15, she dropped out of High School to pursue college full-time. 

She went on to get a Doctorate degree in Law but never pursued it professionally because she was already earning more as a technical writer than she would have as an entry-level attorney. 

She is passionate about writing and has several children's books published. 

These days she is enjoying her life of early retirement, despite being delayed by COVID-19. 

Every potential Weirdo can learn a thing or two from her. 

"Anything that a highly intelligent, free, nutty, skinny Brown kid in Jersey in the Sixties and Seventies can run into, we ran into; both the good and the bad." That's how he describes his childhood. 

Alvin is a multi-faceted, intelligent, and deep thinker. He ponders the realities of life with an innate curiosity of a child and a somber responsibility of an adult. 

Ask him a simple question, and he will describe the process through which he arrived at the answer before answering it. 

She was born to multi-ethnic parents and as a child lived in a region that was foreign to her and both her parents.

This was fertile grounds for being an outcast and becoming reclusive.

Upon graduating from college she had no idea of what to do with her life, but Life knew what to do with her.

A dog that she thought she was saving ended up saving her from a meaningless life.

Growing up in Western New York, and then in rural Ohio, Tammy had this weird and crazy idea to move to New York City, so she did.

But there is more to the story that involves drugs and alcohol, detox and rehab, being an artist, and becoming an author.

If you Google Kellan Fluckiger - provided you spell the name correctly, K-E-L-L-A-N (SPACE) f--L-U-C-K-I-G-E-R - You'll get thousands of hits about my guest, and a few about his son. No one else will show up. That's the power of having a weird name. lol

He was a very successful executive in the corporate world who was fighting depression and was addicted to very expensive drugs.

His life changed dramatically at the age of 52 when he had Divine Intervention.

About ten years later, he died and "met God at the door" and was asked if he was ready to come home. 

He wasn't.

He is committed to impacting the lives of Ten Million people before "returning home."

Stacie Odeneal began her life as a weirdo in 1979 and continued as a respected but amateur weirdo for thirty years.

She turned pro weirdo in 2012 when she was gifted #cosmicsprinkles, a practice of acknowledging the pile of universal reassurances that we are exactly who we need to be, and exactly are where we need to be, no matter where we are going.

The gift of #cosmicsprinkles was just the encouragement Stacie needed to franchise her weirdness into all areas of existence.

She abandoned a mediocre attempt at legal domination to focus on her legal practice as a child welfare law specialist and attorney in rural middle Tennessee.  In this weirdo capacity, she is invigorated as an advocate for children in foster care and adoptive families.

Which is how she found her own family of weirdos when she and her husband adopted three children from foster care.  She calls them pirates because they talk funny, like to ride in boats, and steal things occasionally.  It was cute at first.  She now regrets that decision, wishing instead she had opted for something more “employed taxpayer” and less “mutiny all the time.”  But names have a way of sticking, so she is stuck.

She now enjoys sharing her best tips for being your best weirdo as a teacher and public speaker, both in and out of the courtroom.  She has developed a curriculum designed to help everyone find their best weirdo entitled “You Matter” as well as several tools and resources to navigate adoption and litigation for both lawyers and laypersons.

She always dreamed of getting away as far as she could as a child, then, in her 30s, she was "invited" to the USA by her father who had settled here sometime earlier.

Arriving in a new country, not knowing the language or the culture - something I can relate to - Elly managed to create a successful life for herself while raising her small daughter. Her story is one of inspiration. By taking chances and making mistakes, you can be successful if you Embrace Your Inner Weirdo and take action.

As a child, he lived a nomadic life. His dad was in the military, and they moved every so often, so he was physically all over the place.

As an adult, he developed many interests and now writes and talks about them. So he is intellectually all over the place.
