Read Your Hearts Out
By Saadia Shafati Shamsie
A short and sweet podcast where I alternate between sharing my favorite book of the week and my least favorite book of the week. In less than 5 minutes, I will tell you what I loved or didn't, who I think it’s right for or isn’t and why I think you may want to pick it up or not.
Because a book for me, may not be for you and a book not meant for me, may be perfect for you.
Either way, it’s a quick bookish listen you won’t want to miss.
Tune in Every Saturday beginning July 3rd for your bookish byte!
And always remember to Read Your Hearts Out!

Episode 22: The Retreat by Sarah Pearse
I really enjoyed Sarah Pearse's debut novel, The Sanitorium. Though I was not happy with the "why," I was left intrigued by its ending and was very much looking forward to her second novel, The Retreat. If you're looking for that ending to resolve itself in this book, you will be disappointed. If you're looking for a fast-paced "who dunnit," you might be OK. It was a 3-star from me. Good, but by no means great. In contrast, I gave The Sanitorium a 4-star.

If you love the concept of eternal life (or close to it), this might be your cup of tea, but if you need to know the what and why behind the plot, then I say PASS.
I'm disappointed that this fell so short that not only is it a NO from me, but it's a hard NO at 2 stars.
