Shane Warne Memories with Jon Norman
This episode is about Shane Warne. It kind of had to be, right? I thought about doing an emergency podcast, but I didn't know how I would do it, would it just be me on my own, trying to emotionally process it all? And then my friend Jon Norman said why don't we do a podcast where we just chat about him until we run out of things to say. So here it is, two friends talking about Shane Warne for a very long time.

When I Rode The Buses
This is the 100th episode of Red Inker (sorta), and I wanted to do something a bit different here, so I have looked at the first time I ever sat in a team dug out. When I was a journalist covering Hong Kong in two matches against the Netherlands. It involves the ICC kicking me out, a man pissing while breaking protocol and me dreaming of a job that never existed.

Sunil Narine’s Tweaking with Karthikeya Manchala
This episode we talk about Sunil Narine, a man on a constant journey to perfect his T20 game. To do that I found a writer as obsessed with him as I am, Karthikeya Manchala. We talk about chucking, length, box of tricks, batting Trinidad and how he hides the ball up his butt.

Cricket Scouting with Ronan Alexander
This episode we look at something slightly new to cricket, scouting. And in order to do that, I only went and found someone who started their own cricket scouting magazine, Ronan Alexander. On this episode, we look at a few different talented players, but really what we’re doing is breaking down how we need to look at cricket going forward. Where players fit in, what their skill sets are, not specifically batter bowl or rounder, but where they can be used in different kinds of games. You may find a new favourite player too.

This week we talk about cricket and baseball, to discuss pitchers who can't hit, number elevens who can't bat and how baseball produced their first great all-rounder in 100 years. I brought on one of baseball’s greatest writers to chat about it, Ben Lindbergh. We discuss soft tossers, Babe Ruth, number 11s, Imran Khan, designated hitters and the two-way all-round unicorn that is Shohei Ohtani.

Tabraiz Shamsi, The Rebel
Bad news folks, Jarrod came off his skateboard on the way home from commentary on the England Vs. India Test Match this week, and has broken his arm, and Michael Clarke didn't even give him the chance to get ready for it. As such, we're remastering some older episodes. This week, we're featuring episode 17 with Tabraiz Shamsi, the South African left arm spinner who has had a great deal of success in recent times in the SA white ball sides. He comes on to talk about why he chose wrist spin, his mentor Imran Tahir, his different journey towards the top and the day he felt worthy when bowling to MS Dhoni.
We hope to be back with new episodes as soon as possible, please send your good wishes to Jarrod on social media.

The Rise of Women's Domestic Cricket with Izzy Westbury
Watching the first match of the Hundred, it occurred to me that the standard of women’s cricket had improved so much that it barely registered this was a domestic game. So I went and got myself a veteran domestic women's player to talk about it. Izzy Westbury played for Somerset, Middlesex and the Dutch teams before becoming a cricket writer. On this chat we talk about the little changes in the women's game, what drawbacks professionalism has, gender pay gap, growing new markets, how the athleticism has changed, and why women's cricket has improved so much that Izzy wouldn't get a game anymore.

This episode we look at a Sachin Tendulkar and Mohammad Azharuddin moment in Cape Town. It was a short, brilliant partnership that inspired a book, so I got on one of the authors, Abhishek Mukherjee to take me through it. We talk about Azharuddin the batter, fast bowling and India, how cricket history is hard, where Sachin was at this point in his career, South Africa's relationship with India and how Nelson Mandela watched - and may have inspired - the partnership.

This episode we look at New Zealand’s rise and the many things they got right along the way. So I figured it was only fair to get one of them to come on and tell me. Peter McGlashan was New Zealand’s limited overs keeper, and so together we look at the people and processes that changed New Zealand cricket. We discuss Taylor, McCullum, Hesson, Stead, pitches, NZ A, South African players and why Kane Williamson was a really annoying kid.

Trash Cans and Sandpaper with Ben Reiter
This episode is talking about two of the world’s biggest cheating scandals of modern times; the Houston Astros and the Australian cricket team. And while I knew a lot about one, the other was not as known to me, so here’s Ben Reiter from Sports Illustrated and The Edge Podcast to chat about it.
In this episode we talk about the many similarities of the two scandals, the reactions, the hatred for the teams, how so few people were punished, what happens when standard cheating crosses the imaginary line to moral outrage, how funny they both were and we compare Faf Du Plessis to the Boston Red Sox.

Why Indians Don’t Bat Left-Handed with Nathan Leamon
This episode we talk about why Indians don’t bat left-handed. And so why not get on someone who has just written a book on this, with that as his very title. Nathan Leamon and Ben Jones have written a book called Hitting Against the Spin, and it’s basically the book you need to understand how cricket is currently played. But I got Nathan on to talk about the history of left-handers, anticipation skills, why off spinners are good, LBWs, umpires, outswing, and why left-handers were better against seam than spin.

James Coyne and I discuss how good Argentina were at cricket when they took games off MCC teams, why they were held back from Test cricket, and why the game didn’t spread like football and rugby did. We talk Evita, Plum Warner, Buenos Aires and the new rivalry coming out of Brazil versus Argentina in women’s cricket.

The Likeable Aaron Finch with Melinda Farrell
This episode we talk about Aaron Finch, one of two accidental Australian captains. But perhaps the more interesting one. So I got on Melinda Farrell who wrote a piece on Finch recently. Here we talk about how Finch thought his career was gone, his likeability, white ball talent, red ball scars and the night he quite literally thought he pissed his career away.

The Drama Of Danny Morrison
This episode we get on someone who has become one of the most heard voices in the game. Danny Morrison had a ten year career for New Zealand before becoming the IPL court jester. This episode we talk about his history, dropped catches, a tough period for New Zealand, his batting, and how his mother inspired his commentary.
Due to Danny doing this interview from the Maldives after the cancellation of the IPL, there were some issues with his audio, and it might be a bit less decent than you're used to on this show, apologies.

Manoj Badale Is The King of the Royals
It’s quite possible you have never owned a T20 team, but you are probably still fascinated by how that works. So I went and got an IPL owner to talk us through the entire thing. Manoj Badale owns the Rajasthan Royals, and so we talked about how you make a team from scratch, the logistics of running an organisation suspended for spot fixing, his moneyball fandom, why the team is trying to be the global IPL side and the future of the league.

Abhinav Mukund’s Grind For Happiness
This episode we talk about what happens when you go from the person everyone wants a piece of, to a voluntary twelfth man in county cricket told by the man who loved it. Abhinav Mukund’s career started the way legends do, and since then, it’s been a bizarre journey, from batting with Rahul Dravid in a test to 30 pounds a day to run drinks at Leicestershire. We chat about his career, mental health, suicide, speaking out, and finding happiness when life goes in another direction.

Brad Hodge On Why You Shouldn't Bat At 4
Batting at four in a T20 match is a horrible position, so I found someone who had batted pretty much everywhere in T20 cricket, but spent most of his time at that hell position. Brad Hodge was in the first T20 match, won the first title, and then played it up until a few years ago when he stated coaching and commentating on it. Here we talk about facing gun spinners, why many players want to move up the order, and why he would retire a player who is batting too slow.

Shikha Pandey and the Quest for Women's Tests
This episode we talk to someone who has played two Tests, hit the winning runs in one of them, and would just like to play more. Shikha Pandey is an all-rounder for India who has represented her country over 100 times altogether and when I asked her what she wanted to talk about, she said “Why women should play test matches. 😍” So this episode is about her experiences of trying to learn the game without playing multi-day cricket, why she believes the time is now, plus some views on women’s cricket changing the game, and why I believe she should retire from Test cricket.
