Finding One's Authenticity & Truism in the Workplace
How often have you heard someone say, "Man, I should've won an Oscar for my response in that meeting" or "I am an actor at work, but myself at home?" It's exhausting! My guest this week is Amy Terry. Amy Terry began her career in real estate at just 16! Rising from answering the phones to a top producing agent to now a Partner and Managing Broker for one of Colorado's most successful Real Estate Firms.
Amy knows she has evolved as a leader, learning to step into her power, truth, and, more recently, femininity. Amy's mentors and leaders had always been men, wonderful men.

Corporate Women Speak with Dr. Tamika Lott, MD
In episode 4 of Corporate Women Speak, I sit with Dr. Tamika Lott. Dr. Tamika was born and raised in Waterbury, CT. She completed her undergraduate studies in biology at Bryn Mawr College in PA. After graduating from Bryn Mawr, Dr. Lott completed a year of post-graduate studies at Boston University. She is a board-certified Family Physician and received her medical degree from Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in NJ in 2002. Medicine is not just Dr. Lott's profession; it is her ministry, inspired by tremendous life challenges. By Dr. Lott's first year of college, she lost her father to congestive heart failure, her grandmother to complications of diabetes, one brother to AIDS, and another brother to a drug overdose. By her senior year of college, she would lose two more siblings to AIDS and the heroin and crack epidemic that plagued black communities in the 1980s. These experiences helped mold Dr. Lott into a humble, caring, compassionate physician and healer.
We discuss choices and options, prioritizing yourself and not becoming the job. In addition, Dr. Tamika touches on what one's needs to consider to be successful, including advocating for oneself and boundaries. We also discuss the stigma associated with mental in black and brown communities, asking for help, and moving past generational trauma such as substance and alcohol addiction.

Lakeyshia Moore, MBA, RHIA Lakeyshia Moore, MBA, RHIA is the Director of Coding Operations at Parkland Health & Hospital System (PHHS). At PHHS, she is responsible for coding operations for both hospital and professional coding. She has over 20 years of HIM and healthcare experience to include leadership, compliance, HIPAA, HIM operations (including Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC), clinical documentation improvement (CDI) and hospital coding), informatics, and project management.
Lakeyshia has a Bachelor’s degree in HIM from Eastern Kentucky University and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) which she obtained from Sullivan University in Lexington, Kentucky. As an Administrative Fellow, she gained experience in hospital operations and human resources. Some of her proudest accomplishments include decreasing the Discharge Not Final Billed (DNFB) from 33 million to 7 million, successfully implementing an enterprise document imaging solution and leading a successful ICD-10 implementation.
Lakeyshia currently serves on the TXHIMA Board of Directors as Finance Director. She is also Past President of DFWHIMA and professionally affiliated with American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists (ACDIS), and American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). In her free time, Lakeyshia loves spending time with family and friends, mentoring others, traveling, and shopping.
