A copyright infringement case can have a variety of outcomes, depending on the specifics of the case. A walkie-talkie app that enabled the transmission of voice and video communication is at the centre of a #patentinfringement. Sometime in 2020 #voxer filed a #patent infringement suit against #Meta the parent company of #Facebook and its subsidiary #instagram over 5 of their #patents push-to-talk app which was invented to solve battlefield communications problems. Did you know Shakira's partial recently won a case at the UKIPO over the name "Shakara" meaning at the moment in the UK you can't use the word "Shakara in Class 25 because Steve Uzoma Nwankpa surrendered it to her this year? In what would have changed the tides and set a precedent when it came to image right protection, the Court of Appeal dismissed the case between the Appellant Oluwadamilola Banire v NTA-STAR TV Network Ltd stating that the claim for image rights and the torts of passing off did not apply and that the ownership of the copyright in the photograph belonged to her employer Virtual Media Network Limited.
