Today's overcomer tidbit is this: the overcomer does it for his glory. Well, "Does what?", you might ask. Well, the answer is simple. Does everything for God's glory.

In episode 12, I shared that the overcomer embraces every challenge for God's glory. But during this episode, we are going to take things a bit deeper. Children of God are simply not overcoming or winning at life, you might say. Because they have the wrong motives and heart posture.

Scripture reminds us of a nation, that nation being Israel, that worship God with their mouths, but their hearts were far from him. They found themselves time and time again, distant from God because they were self-driven. Driven by selfish ambition.

Today's overcomer tidbit is this: the overcomer holds on to hope.

How many of you that are listening today are wrestling or struggling to find hope in the midst of your adversity? Is there a situation that you are feeling hopeless about or being tempted to entertain thoughts and feelings of hopelessness?

Well, if you identify with this, then I would just encourage you to not be discouraged, for this is a common occurrence within the body of Messiah. Holding onto hope in the midst of our adversities is not always easy. Matter of fact, it can be rather hard at times. Unfortunately, I'm all too familiar with that feeling of dread and feeling as if I'll never escape from a circumstance or a situation.

The reality of it all is, is that when life is hard, the enemy comes in like a flood, trying to drown us with discouragement, doubt and messages that fuel hopelessness. Just because we are having feelings of hopelessness doesn't mean that we have to be hopeless. All it means is that we have to wrestle to continue to hold on to our faith.

And after completion of this podcast, I have finished what I started to do. It's not always been easy to record these podcasts for the past 30 days. I had to record the podcast in my car. I've had to show up even when I'm tired, because I record every morning just to ensure that you, the listener, are overcoming daily for God's glory.

And honestly, it wasn't my idea to record 30 consecutive days on overcoming, but it was the inspiration given to me by God that brought me to record this podcast every day to ensure that you, the listeners, are being encouraged. So I pray that you've really put this podcast to good use - that you've shown up every day for the past 30 days; that you've taken notes and that you've meditated on the words that's been shared in the podcast, and that they're becoming working elements within your life.

Today's overcomer tidbit is this: the overcomer overcomes and teaches others to do the same. Overcoming is so vital to others. See, when we overcome, we are actually encouraging others to overcome. We have a responsibility to overcome for God's glory. And not only are we supposed to overcome to encourage others to wrestle to overcome, we're also supposed to help others on their overcomer journey by sharing a word with them that we've learned during our journey.

One of my favorite scriptures is John 16:33. And it states...

"These I've spoken to you, that in me you might have peace. In the world, you have pressure. But take courage, I have overcome the world."

This scripture is so encouraging to me because it reminds me of who I am a follower of. I am a follower of an overcomer. Matter of fact, I am a follower of the greatest overcomer that ever walked the earth, who still lives in heaven. See, we are to be followers of Messiah who is an overcomer. The greatest overcomer. And we see throughout scripture where he is actually teaching his disciples how to overcome in and through him. And not only does he show his disciples how to overcome in and through him, but he also tells them that he must ascend to the Father so that he can send the advocate - the helper, the Holy Spirit that empowers us to work mightily for God's glory.

Shalom! Welcome to episode 28 of Overcoming Daily with Anna Johnson.

Today's overcomer tidbit is this: the overcomer guards their tongue. Once again, a basic concept for the believer. And yet it is a concept that many are failing to apply in their lives.

We know that the power of life and death is in the tongue. We know that the power of blessing and cursing is in the tongue. And yet we are often so loose with our words that we sometimes just welcome curses into our lives. And sometimes we curse other people with our words. Sometimes we sabotage our outcomes simply by speaking the wrong words.

We're reminded in scripture that we are to be quick to listen and slow to speak. But unfortunately, many people of faith these days are being very quick to speak and not taking the time to really think about what they're hearing and to formulate their words. 

In episode 27, we talked about the overcomer resisting the voice of the enemy. See, it's really important that we are quick to listen before we speak, because sometimes, a lot of times the enemy is in our ear. And wants us to agree with the messages that he is trying to influence us with in such a way that we will speak them out into the atmosphere. If we are listening and filtering our thoughts and we are delaying speaking, then we are less likely to curse ourselves or curse the situation or curse someone else.

Now, I know the term 'curse' seems kind of a harsh word to be using, but things really are - either they are a blessing or they are a curse - they are one of the two. And honestly, anything that the enemy is speaking to us, we should be speaking the opposite. We should be speaking words of life and power. Words that glorify God.

Shalom! Welcome to episode 27 of Overcoming Daily with Anna Johnson.

Today's overcomer tidbit is this: the overcomer resists the voice of the enemy. The enemy has been working at getting into the ear of humanity from the beginning, as we know it. We see in the book of Genesis where God creates humanity and everything is good. But then the serpent steps onto the scene. And he gets in the ear of Eve. And Eve does not resist that voice. Rather, she submits to it and submits to it unknowingly. And in that submission, we see the fall of humanity, where sin and death enter into the world and things are no longer good like they once were.

We know that the enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy. And many times he tries to set us on self-destructive mode. See in the garden, he couldn't really harm Adam or Eve. So, what did he utilize? He utilized language. He spoke to Eve and Eve basically self-destructed when she took a bite of the fruit that she was told not to eat from. 

He's still doing this today. He's still getting into the ear of humanity, hoping to kill, steal, and destroy. None of us are immune to the schemes of the enemy. None of us are immune to it. And this is why indeed we need the spiritual gifts and we need to submit ourselves to God, and we need Messiah, and we need one another.

None of us are immune, but I hope today you will really focus on what I'm sharing. That you will be more aware of your thoughts and what you entertain, and how to resist the voice of the enemy.

Today's overcomer tidbit is this: the overcomer seeks the spiritual gifts. When you seek God, do you seek kingdom things? Do you seek spiritual things? Honestly, it's not our default to seek spiritual things. We often have a tendency to seek the physical things.

Take a moment and inventory the things that you pray about. Are you praying about your finances? Are you praying about your relationships? Are you praying about your feelings? Are you praying about work, maybe? Are you praying about physical situations?

Now, let me ask you this question... Are you praying and asking God for more wisdom? The ability to discern things? Are you asking for the spiritual gifts? And if you are, why are you asking for those spiritual gifts?

The gifts are there for the body of Messiah. It is for us to serve one another and to glorify God in our lives and to assist us on our journey here on earth, until we are in the presence of Christ himself.

Today's overcomer tidbit is this: the overcomer guards their time. Do you guard your time? Do you manage your time in a way that glorifies God? Time is a gift that is given by God to his children to be utilized for his glory.

Unfortunately, many of us fail to recognize that time is a gift and that gift is limited. Meaning that, eventually the clock is going to run out and then we're going to have to give an account for how we used our time. And, when we do not use good management of our time, then we fail to overcome some of the things that we are called to overcome.

Too often, I have seen children of God procrastinate in overcoming. Or they simply fail to use their time to overcome for God's glory. Let us remember that our time has a plan and purpose. When God created us, he created us with a plan, a purpose, a time to be born and a time to die. And all of that time in the middle is for him to be glorified - for us to grow in righteousness and for us to overcome each and every battle that comes in our lives.

And unfortunately, too many times people die without overcoming. Sometimes they die without overcoming because they have failed to utilize their time properly. And then sometimes people fail to overcome because they do not guard their time. Now, by guarding our time, what that means is that we say 'no' to some things so that we can utilize our time to say 'yes', to the right things.

Today's overcomer tidbit is this: the overcomer has difficult conversations.

Do you avoid conflict? Are you tempted to be quiet when you are called to speak? Time and time again, I have seen as a therapist and as a coach, people avoiding conflict. And not only are they avoiding conflict, they are avoiding conflict to the extent that it hinders healing and overcoming.

What I've learned is as followers of Messiah, we are called to have difficult conversations. We see that Messiah was not afraid to have difficult conversations. And what I mean by difficult conversations, are conversations that stir people up. They may even infuriate people a bit. Or they may even put you in a place of being persecuted or thought lowly of.

Now in American culture, nobody wants anyone to be uncomfortable. So we avoid having the conversation that we really need to have - those conversations that actually promote healing and overcoming. And what we fail to recognize is that healing doesn't come from avoiding painful topics, but it comes from addressing them.

Today's overcomer tidbit is this: the overcomer seeks support. Are you guilty of trying to do everything alone? Yes, are you guilty of trying to do everything alone? Do you delay in asking others for help? Or even worse, do you delay in asking God for help?

It is unscriptural for us to not seek support. We're actually called to work together as a body in order to overcome for his glory. Even in scripture, before we get into the gospels, we see God encouraging the people to work together and to support one another and to seek support when they need it.

There are various parts in scripture where God himself encourages Israel the nation to seek him. To seek his face. To inquire of him. To give an offering to him. To bring in tithe to him. Now, God doesn't need our offerings or our tithe. However, he knows that we need him and he's always drawing us in, in order to have the support we need to overcome, to have life and to have life abundantly.

Whenever we fail to seek support from God, we're put in a position where we may actually be disobedient to the word of God, or we may be operating in the flesh. Now, we know that God is good. We know that he provides life and sustenance. So why wouldn't we seek his support above all?

Today's overcomer tidbit is this: the overcomer patiently endures through life's challenges. Now, I know that once again, this may seem like a simple, fundamental concept for the believer. However, what I have discovered in working with clients is that many times believers are just failing to wait patiently and to endure through life's challenges.

The two key words that's important in this, is the word 'patiently' and 'endures'. Scripture time and time and time again, warns us about being impatient. Scripture also reminds us of the importance of enduring. Scripture reminds us of the importance of enduring - we are to endure. And yet many believers are not practicing patience and they certainly are not wanting to endure.

Today's overcomer tidbit is this: the overcomer follows the voice of God. Let me repeat that one more time. The overcomer follows the voice of God. Now I know that this seems like a simple, fundamental concept for the believer. However, I have proof that many people have wrestled  to overcome because they have not embraced this concept.

Do you follow the voice of God? Do you follow the voice of God? In order to follow the voice of God, you first must be listening for the voice God. And not only listening, but also seeking his voice.

You know, a lot of times believers just want their walk to be easy. But relationships, any relationships, require work. And our relationship with God also requires work. Now, this is a good type of work, you know, seeking him, listening for his voice and then obeying his voice, following his voice.

This morning's overcomer tidbit is this: the overcomer doesn't allow the atmosphere to change them. Rather, they change the atmosphere. Have you ever been in a situation where you've been in a particular environment and that environment starts to weather you and impact you in a negative way?

Well, I think we've all been there, but what I've learned is that many of us fail to recognize the influence and the power that operates and moves in us. And when we step into an atmosphere, we should bring life and light to that atmosphere.

Today's overcomer tidbit is this: the overcomer lives by faith. Yes, faith. Now, I know that this seems like a very fundamental aspect for a child of God. And yet many children of God are not embracing this; understanding it. So bear with me. I am going to challenge you to just take another look at what it means to live by faith.

What's the most radical thing that you have done in faith? Take a few minutes and think about it. I suppose one of the things that the body of Messiah is currently lacking in this world is "radical" faith. Radical faith. It is a stretching faith. It is a faith that is very uncomfortable to the flesh, but very empowering in the spiritual. And I do believe that we're not seeing overcoming within the body of Messiah because members are lacking this radical faith.

Really, it's not even radical. I use that terminology because in this world, and in our current times, a lot of people would consider it radical.

Today's overcomer tidbit is this: the overcomer wrestles until they are blessed. Are you a wrestler? Do you wrestle to overcome life and spiritual challenges? What I've discovered is that many people fail to wrestle to receive the blessings.

And the reality of it is, is if you're not wrestling, you're not overcoming. Now, our Messiah was a wrestler. And let's just take a minute and talk about wrestling.

Wrestling is uncomfortable, it's personal, I would even say a bit intimate. It's a direct contact sport. I mean, you have someone in your personal space, even possibly sweating on you and manipulating your body in positions that are uncomfortable. And a lot of times our challenges are doing the exact same thing in our life. And those challenges may be circumstances, or it could even be people or it could be demonic oppression trying to operate in our lives.

Now, when I say that our Messiah is and was a wrestler, is that he wasn't afraid to get in those uncomfortable places in order to bless others. And yet many children of God today are afraid to be uncomfortable and to wrestle to receive the blessing.

So let's just go ahead right now and embrace this concept. The overcomer wrestles until they are blessed. They don't let go. They don't stop wrestling until they are blessed.

Now, what does that look like practically? Well, let's say that you're having, let's say you're having financial issues. You have a couple of options. You can wrestle this out, meaning you could pray, you could study scripture on how to overcome financially, you could look and see if there's any demonic oppression that's involved in the situation, you could fast - that's what wrestling looks like.

Today's overcomer tidbit is this: the overcomer is unoffendable. Yes. Let me repeat that. The overcomer is unoffendable.

Are you easily offended, or does it take a lot to offend you? Well, let's just take a look at the word unoffendable and what the definition of that is.

To understand what it means to be unoffendable, we first need to look at the word offend. Now, what does it mean for someone to be offended? Well, it means that they are to be irritated, annoyed, or angry, or even resentful displeasure towards someone or something. Are you guilty of being irritable, annoyed, or angry, or even resentful towards someone or a situation?

I have met people that have been offended by the things that they believe God has allowed in their lives. And because they're offended, they are tempted to not be obedient to the Word of God - that they fail to trust God and that they are easily ready to release the faith that is available and given to them.

Today's overcomer tidbit is this: the overcomer provides a living sacrifice. Do you provide a living sacrifice daily to God? Are you living your life for God? Are you making the sacrifices required for the overcomer?

Now, because of the blood of the Lamb, we no longer have to give a blood sacrifice. We're no longer required to offer blood offerings of animals because of the blood of the Lamb. And I suppose, because we've gotten away from this sacrificial system that we see in scripture, that many of us forget that we are still to make a sacrifice daily.

The reality of it is, is there is no overcoming without providing a living, active sacrifice daily unto God. This morning, I was reading John 1:29 and it states...

"On the next day, John saw Messiah Yeshua coming toward him and said, 'see the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world'."

There's much to be grateful here. Because of Christ, we are no longer bound by sin. We also see in the scripture how Christ is referred to as the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. Which means that he was indeed a living sacrifice that made atonement for the sins of all that would receive him - for all of those who would receive him and his cleansing blood.

The overcomer tidbit for today is, the overcomer embraces grace. Yes. Let me repeat that. The overcomer embraces grace. Now I know that this sounds like a simple concept for a believer.

However, what I've discovered in coaching believers is that many believers are failing to embrace grace. And without grace, there is no overcoming. Embracing grace means to embrace Christ and the salvation made available to us. Now before you say, "well, I don't need to listen to this podcast because I indeed am embracing grace", let me ask you a few questions.

Do you try to do things from your own strength and from your own might? Are you critical of yourself and the mistakes that you make? Do you ever question your salvation and hate yourself because you fall short? Do you let your stumbling define your mood or your future? A matter of fact, do you let your stumbling define whether you are a child of God or not?

Many of my coaching clients wrestle with embracing grace. They often feel guilty when they make a mistake. But grace is available to us, because we need it. There's no overcoming without grace. We can not expect to run a spiritual race and receive the prize, without grace. We're going to need that grace in order to receive the prize.

Now, I'm not suggesting that we abuse grace. But we certainly need to embrace it and utilize it on our journey here on earth as we walk out and wrestle out our salvation with reverence. We should honor the grace made available to us and certainly not refuse to use it when we need it.

Today's overcomer tidbit is this... the overcomer isn't perfect, but they sure are faithful. Are you guilty of trying to be perfect? Do you get frustrated because you seem to fail over and over again? Or you make mistakes?

I'm learning that perfectionism is rampant within the body of Messiah. A matter of fact, I confess, I used to be a perfectionist. Everyone might say, well, scripture tells us that we are to be perfect because our Messiah was perfect. But what if I told you that the way that we view perfection in our culture is not biblical? The word perfect in scripture in some places can be translated to being complete and whole. Not necessarily as we see it in the English being without blemish.

So, what if scripture was telling us to be complete, - to be whole in our faith and in our walk and in our service to God? God hasn't placed stumbling blocks before us. He only encourages us to overcome for his glory, and to follow him and to walk with him. Now Messiah came not that we could be perfect, but that we could overcome for his glory.

Shalom! And welcome to episode 13 of Overcoming Daily with Anna Johnson. Today's overcomer tidbit is this... the overcomer holds fast to the promises of God. Let me repeat that. The overcomer holds fast to the promises of God.

God's Word is a promise. A promise is something that you agree to do, or keep. His Word tells us that he changes not. And so if he changes not, his Word does not change as well. He honors his Word. Always. No matter the cost.

We see this time and time again, with the nation of Israel, whom he gives a word to, gives words to. And he honors those words, even when Israel as a nation does not honor their words.

Now, it's so very important that the overcomer holds fast to the promises of God. Because without holding fast his promises, the overcomer is subject to being manipulated by circumstances, the enemy and even their own understanding and flesh. The overcomer is susceptible to giving up when they're not focusing on the promises of God.

Today's tidbit for overcoming daily is this... the overcomer embraces every challenge, for His glory. Let me say that again. The overcomer embraces every challenge for God's glory.

Too often, I have seen believers running from their challenges, or actually even trying to combat their challenges, versus embracing them. Now, don't get me wrong, I have been one of those people that have ran from challenges, or just simply try to kill them. And sometimes when we're just simply trying to like, get past it challenge, we're just trying to avoid being uncomfortable.

We're not really overcoming. We just want life to be easy. And a lot of times we just, in that saying, like, we just want life to be easy, a lot of times we're not overcoming or trying to overcome challenges for God, but actually for ourselves.

What I have learned in all of my attempts to overcome is that the only way to overcome is to embrace a challenge. It's like a strong, intimate hug, that's uncomfortable. Many of my coaching clients have heard me say time and time again for them to embrace their porcupine. Porcupines are prickly. And can produce some discomfort. But I also remind them that that porcupine can not kill or destroy them.

There's no challenge that can kill or destroy you because we have the blood of the Lamb. Now don't get me wrong, there are challenges in this world that can actually take our lives, but what are our lives? Is our life more important than eternity? We have eternal life. Why do we cleave to this life and this world?

Well, we are not of this world. We have a citizenship that comes from heaven. What I've learned is that it's next to impossible to overcome until you embrace every challenge. It took me 12 long, consecutive years to learn this lesson. And there's positives to that. I know what works and I know what doesn't work because I took the long road and I'm hoping to give you, the listener, some shortcuts.

Today's overcomer tidbit is this... the overcomer sees with spiritual eyes. One more time. The overcomer sees with spiritual eyes. Now, we've all been given two eyes that we're able to see our physical environment with. And those eyes are helpful in helping you navigate in, and through life.

But are we made of just flesh and blood? Do we live in just a physical world? Well, if you're listening to this podcast, I'm going to assume that you are a believer.

And if you are a believer in God, then I think you know that there is a spiritual realm all around us. Matter of fact, we are spiritual creatures, ourself. And yet when coaching others, what I often find is that many of us, children of God in fact, fail to look with spiritual eyes. We let the physical perception of things, define our fate, our future and our possibilities.

And because many people use physical eyes, we often miss our opportunity for overcoming because we're not really seeing the true nature of our problems. I guess you could say that things are not always as they appear to be. Sometimes, many times we need to just look a bit deeper. Now, is there anything that you've been wrestling and struggling to overcome?

Today's tidbit to overcoming daily is, the overcomer destroys idols. Have you been guilty of idolatry? Well, we see time and time again in scripture where the nation of Israel has been guilty of idolatry - of worshiping false gods. Now in today's society, we don't always see people - or believers in particular - we don't see them worshiping an idol. We don't see anyone with a golden calf per se, but idolatry is still very much prevalent in the lives of the believer, just like it was in Israel.

Let's review what an idol is.

An idol is anything one comes to serve and worship. It is anything that we give more importance to - or a power to - other than God himself. So, let me ask the question again...

Have you been guilty of idolatry?

If idolatry is when one comes to serve and worship something above God, or give something more importance other than God, have you been guilty of doing such things? The most dangerous idol is the one that is hidden in our hearts. Did you know that an idol could be a relationship? It could be pain. It could be disbelief.

It could be material possessions. It could be pride. It could be an idea. It could be fear. It could be your children. It could be an organization. It could be your feelings. Anything that you bow down to and give power and authority in your life, is an idol.

When coaching clients, I start sessions with prayer. And we invite God into the coaching session and I rely on him to help me coach each and every client to overcome for his glory. And sometimes what we discover is that the client actually has an idol within their heart. And one of the most prevalent idols that is discovered in coaching, at least for me, is the idol of feelings.

And a lot of times people think that they can not do things because of their feelings. Sometimes it's pain. They say they can't forgive because the person caused them too much pain. Sometimes people say they cannot do the things that God has called them to do because they're afraid. 

Sometimes people will say they cannot do the things that God has called them to do because it's too hard.

And when we say that we can't do the things that God has called us to do, then we're saying that it's okay for us to be disobedient. Scripture tells us that we are to love God with all our heart, mind, and soul. It tells us that we are to serve him and to be obedient and to give him everything. We are to give him our all.

Please remember, the overcomer destroys idols.

Shalom! Welcome to episode 9 of Overcoming Daily with Anna Johnson.

Today's tidbit for overcoming daily, is that the overcomer reflects, repents and increases in righteousness. This morning, I found myself reflecting upon yesterday and doing an inventory of my thoughts and my attitudes and my behaviors, from the previous day.

Do you ever take inventory - maybe at the end of the day, or early the next morning where you reflect on your thoughts and your attitude and your words and your behaviors - do you do that? I try to do this in the prayer room, or just in that prayer space. It's not good to do this without the Father. 

Because without him, it's hard to see what righteousness really looks like. We may find ourselves justifying a nasty attitude or behavior. Or we might find ourselves condemning ourselves, when we do this outside of his presence. When we involve God in this self reflection, we allow the Holy Spirit to kind of search our being and speak to us, about us.

This is an act of humility, where you're actually inventory looking, you're assessing and looking for those things that are not acceptable in the Father's eyes - that are things that hinder you from growing spiritually. There's no need to be ashamed, or feel guilty when you find something that appears unholy. See when we allow shame and guilt to operate in our lives, then it prevents us from growing spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. It prevents us from overcoming.

Some people are just not okay with self reflection because it makes them feel inadequate. It makes them feel wrong. And it's very humbling. And sometimes being humbled, doesn't always feel very comfortable. The scripture tells us that we have all fallen short and that we have no righteousness of our own. Our righteousness is actually by the blood of the lamb. It's not our own. It is something that has been given to us.

Without self reflection, how do we ever expect to grow in righteousness?

Shalom! Welcome to episode 8 of Overcoming Daily with Anna Johnson. Today's tidbit to overcoming daily is that the overcomer meditates on the Word of God.

Now, why is this so important to the overcomer? Well, what I've discovered in working with others - and even in my life - is that as humans, we have a tendency to meditate on our troubles and not meditate on our solutions. Without the Word of God breathing and being active in our life and in our being, there simply is no overcoming.

When we meditate on the Word of God, we have hope. When we meditate on the Word of God, we have a righteous solution to each and every one of life's challenges. See, we can study the Word of God. We can know the Word of God, but will the Word of God become part of who we are.

Meditating on the Word of God could be likened to something soaking and being saturated in something. For example with cooking - if you want, you want your dish to be savory, you are going to soak that, that meat - particularly, maybe a meat that you're cooking - you're going to soak that meat in that seasoning. You're going to leave it in that seasoning, and you're just going to let it set in that seasoning till it is seasoned to the place of perfection. Well, we should be doing the same for our being. We should first read and study the Word of God - that comes first. And many of you that are listening have already done that. But then we need to take some time to simply meditate on it.

Now, I'm not talking about meditation that we hear about, you know, from the world's standpoint, but I'm talking about a meditation that sits and really just focuses on the Word of God. Sometimes we try to meditate on too many things. Sometimes when I'm going through a difficult season, I will meditate on these words - God is good.

Those are the words that I meditate on. Now, that is a digested version of various scriptures that I have read over the course of my lifetime. But knowing that he is good, that gives me hope and it helps me to focus on overcoming, versus on being stuck. See, when we practice meditating on the Word of God daily, overcoming starts to just be a natural response.

And overcoming should be a natural response. It should be something that just simply - it's something that we just simply do. Not something that we have to remember to do.

Messiah is a great example of how overcoming can be so natural.

Today's overcomer tidbit is this... the overcomer meets daily with God.

Now, I know this may seem like a very simple concept. Like one of those foundational things that we get when we come into the faith. Believe it or not, what I have discovered in working with others is that many times believers get away from this concept. They stop praying, like they used to pray. They let the flow of life carry them away.

Matter of fact, I've found this to be such an issue in the body of Messiah, that I started a Sacred Life Coaching prayer support page to encourage the body of Messiah, the coaching clients that I have and know, and love, and also any believer that needs prayer support and encouragement. I created that page on Facebook so that they could be encouraged to pray daily. I even went as far as to design a shirt that says "Pray Always".

Truth is there is no overcoming without prayer. We cannot overcome without prayer. We can look to Messiah. We can look to Messiah. Messiah had a prayer ethic that was indeed supernatural. He is to be our great example of how we are to walk our faith out on this earth. And not only should we pray daily, but we really should give God the first portion of our day. We should greet God in the morning with a "good morning" and we should thank him for waking us up.

Scripture reminds us that in all our ways we should acknowledge him. Unfortunately, many times people only acknowledge God when things are going rough. Or I guess you could say, they're desperate. And God in his mercy, hears us when we cry out to him, even when we have not been faithful with our prayer life.

But without God, we're unable to overcome. And the tidbit to overcoming daily is to meet with him daily. Meet with him daily.

Today's overcomer tidbit, is this... The overcomer finds strength in the midst of weaknesses. What I've come to learn, personally - and even in my professional experience - is that many humans are not okay with their weaknesses. We're always trying to compensate for our weaknesses - or overcome our weaknesses. But, what if we were called to find strength in our weaknesses?

In my weakness. I am indeed made strong.

And it was my weakest moment where I was at the end of me that I found him. So, I guess you could say that I found strength in the midst of my weakness by looking to him, he is our strength.

Have you been guilty of focusing and praying about all of the things that you were going through?

Are you focused on your challenge? Does your time in meditation, does it just focus on the things that you're going through?

Maybe you're having marital problems, maybe you are having financial problems, maybe you're wrestling with disappointment in life. Maybe you have health issues. Are you guilty of meditating on your challenges?

Truth is most humans focus on the negative, or the thing that seems to be blocking them from achieving the things that they desire. I confess, I've been guilty of meditating on my challenges in the past. And what I discovered was that the more that I meditated on my challenges, the more feelings of hopelessness and discouragement I began to have. A matter of fact, if I'm totally honest, I spent years just praying about my problems. Praying about my problems.

Praying about my problems. Now don't get me wrong, we're supposed to share our burdens with our Father in prayer, but our burdens should never be our focal point.

I pray that today, you will remember that the God in you is greater than your challenges. And in order to overcome, you simply have to focus and fix your eyes upon him. Have an overcomer day. I am praying and cheering for you.

In today's episode, we will be talking about the importance of renewing the mind and submitting the heart to God continually.

One of my secrets to overcoming daily, that the Word is impressed and inspired upon me, is to renew my mind, not just in the morning, but continually. Many believers choose to renew their mind in the morning.

And that is wonderful. And when I mean renew the mind in the morning, they awake and they read the Word of God, maybe pray, and then they run into their day and forget to renew continually.

We must remember that the world is full of negative messages, sinful messages, messages that want to kill God's purpose and Light within our lives. As you can see, that is why it's so important that we renew our mind continually. Now, don't get me wrong. There are some believers, some children of God that do indeed renew their mind continuously throughout the day, meaning that they take every thought captive and they submit it to the Word of God.

And yet, still they may be missing one very important element. What is that element?

Well, it is the heart.

I know today that many of you are experiencing a cage experience. You feel oppressed, you feel like you're caged in and you cannot get out. These are the words I want you to focus on today - that when help doesn't come, when circumstances do not change, HE shows up and He brings forth the change in your life.

First spiritual, and then physical. We often seek the physical solution before we seek the spiritual solution. Scripture tells us that we do not wrestle with flesh and blood, but with principalities and darkness. We must remember that the overcomer's help comes from the hand of God and he alone determines what tool, what vessel, what circumstance that he will use to help you overcome.

Did you know that children of God today wrestle with overcoming? Well, I am here to help his children overcome for his glory. So today, our focal point will come out of 1 John 4:4.

"You are of God little children, and have overcome them because he who is in you, is greater than he that is in the world."

Let's repeat that one more time.

"You are of God little children, and have overcome them because he who is in you, is greater than he that is in the world."

We must remember that the greatest overcomer that ever lived and still lives today, lives within us. And what that means is that we have overcomer status, and we are to walk boldly.

And think like an overcomer, and make decisions like an overcomer, and behave like an overcomer. So for the next 30 days, I will be sharing reminders with you about how to overcome daily. We will renew the mind and position the heart in the right place for his glory. So today, remember you are an overcomer! Let's overcome for his glory.

Let us respect and honor the power and the authority and the gift that has been given to us by the blood of the lamb. So before we close, let us just end with a prayer. Father, I thank you for those that are listening today. I pray that today will be a day of encouragement for them. That they will recognize that Messiah came and he overcame the world so that we too could be overcomers.

I pray that they find themselves overcoming daily. I pray that they find their way back to the podcast. So, I thank you Father, and I praise you Father in your beloved Son's name, I pray. So it's been great talking with you guys today. I pray that you're encouraged and that you're inspired to overcome daily.
