What Scares Me The Most
What I believe is the most critical and important Gift of the Holy Spirit for Parents and The Church today.
1 Corinthians 12:8-11
8 To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. 11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.

An Earnest Desire for the Fruit
Before Earnestly seeking the Gifts we need to start with the prerequisites; The FRUIT of the Spirit. Galatians 5:16-26

It Is Finished
What is finished? The Apostle John is the only one that uses this phrase, explaining what the "IT" means..
John 19:25-30
25 Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26 When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, “Woman, here is your son,”27 and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home. 28 Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.”29 A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips. 30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

Courage To Stand
Ephesians 6:10-11 encourages us to be strong in our faith and have the courage to stand firm in the face of adversity. It reminds us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore, we are to put on the full armor of God, so that we can resist the devil's schemes and remain steadfast in our faith. With the power of the Holy Spirit and the armor of God, we can have the courage to stand against any obstacle that may come our way and remain steadfast in our belief in Jesus Christ.

Walking
Walking - Literally, the Christian Church grew because of a transient society migrating on newly "paved" roads in the Roman Empire.
Walking - Metaphorically, manner of life and conduct defines our walk in the world.
Ephesians 4:1-11
1 I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, 3 eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit— just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. 7 But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift. 8 Therefore it says, “When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men.” 9 (In saying, “He ascended,” what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower regions, the earth? 10 He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.) 11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers,

The Way
“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’” John 14:6.
Jesus is the way. The way to the Father. The way of life. The way to salvation. Jesus lived on earth to show us the way. To follow Him on this way means that we are to walk as He walked. We are to follow in His footsteps, living as He lived. A way indicates progression. When we follow Him we come to where He is now.

Advice for 2023
4 Biblical Principles to to having a great year.

The Helper - Immanuel
Walking in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, we have the ASSURANCE of HIS Presence, guiding, leading and protecting.
Acts 9:31 Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.

The Helper
Acts 9:31 gives us an insight into how the early church was so successful even in times of persecution and martyrdom. They not only were "walking in the fear of the Lord" but living in the "comfort of the Holy Spirit". How we can experience that for ourselves?

Living In Fear
Acts 9:31 Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.
Luke gives a summary of how the 1st century church survived and had its most explosive growth. Two very important aspects of the Holy Spirits operation in the churches beginning.

Time to Choose
Joshua calls the nation of Israel to choose between life and death, Good and Evil and God and their Idols. In this season of unrest and instability, God is calling us as a nation, a church and individuals to choose who we are going to serve. This choice is made clear in Proverbs 3:5-6

Secure Your Investments
The Bible prophetically tells us of a coming Economic Collapse in the World. Jesus gave instructions on what we are to do "when you see these things begin to come to pass". A biblical perspective on surviving the coming disaster.

Never Alone
Matthew 28:16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “ALL authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of ALL nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

God's Continued Love For Us
Hosea assures us of God's continued love for us, even in the desperate and difficult times of our lives.

The Elder Brother
Lessons the modern church should heed about the elder brother in the story of the Prodigal Son in Luke 15.

Troublemakers
After Paul and Silas are released from prison they walk almost 100 miles to Thessalonica. After speaking in the Synagogue, several Jewish leaders both Men and Women responded to the Gospel. Once again Paul and Silas are accused of being Troublemakers.

In Prison?
Are you in a prison to your own heart, mind, or past? In Acts 16, Paul deals with a "Python" spirit, and is thrown in jail. His response to the spirit and prison gives us some direction in how to get out of and survive your own prison.

An Epic Battle
Fighting a Battle that seems never-ending? There is hope. Pauls's first foothold for the Gospel in Europe is in Philippi. The epic battle for control of the Roman Empire was settled here 90 years before. The ultimate control turned out to be 4 missionaries setting foot on the same battlefield in Acts 16 with the power of the real King of Kings and Divine Son of God, a more Epic battle than Brutus/Cassius and Octavian/Mark Antony. The Roman Empire is gone the Gospel Church still survives.
