We definitely don’t want our children to be liars, but the question is, how can we help them choose into honesty? How can we help them recognize that honesty serves them the best? Not because they’re afraid of us or because of the consequences but from a higher place because it’s who they are and who they want to be? How can we help them see that honesty really is the best policy?
