"Staying 'Rooted' for Your Advent Journey" 1:1 Conversation with Dr Scott Hefelfinger, Augustine Institute
In this Say Yes to Holiness 1:1 Conversation podcast, Christina speaks with Dr. Scott Hefelfinger, Theologian and Professor at the Augustine Institute about the upcoming new series, "Rooted: Rediscover the Jesse Tree."
Dr Scott and I had a wonderful conversation about his own journey of faith and how Scripture has been a source of knowing God's love. We especially focused on how our story is God's story and is a part of salvation history. We often forget this reality, and how this can become an entry point into a deeper relationship with Christ.
To that end, Dr Scott saw his family's Jesse Tree celebration as a way to share that reality, and from that insight came a new 22-episode series that guides Catholics through a daily Advent reflection using the Jesse Tree model traditionally practiced by families.
Each seven-minute episode introduces the ancestors of Jesus Christ, shares a Scripture passage, and offers an engaging, practical reflection. The Rooted series is designed to help viewers apply the passage and related teachings to each day of Advent, and in the process, we lay the foundation necessary for each of us to find the fullness of joy, peace and love of the Christmas season.
This conversation was a wonderful reminder that every one of us matters since we each have a page to write in the great story of salvation. I pray that you, too, are inspired and encouraged by this conversation so that you can continue to do WHATEVER IT TAKES so together we can tell the Master of Death, "Not Today!"

Episode #193--"God Is Doing Something New In His Church"--1:1 with Kris Frank, Eucharistic Revival
In this Say Yes to Holiness 1:1 Conversation podcast, Christina speaks with Kris Frank, Chief Mission Officer for the National Eucharistic Revival.
You may or may not have heard about the Eucharistic Revival, so Kris and I began our time together talking about what it is and the overarching goal of the Revival as well--which is to bring about a revival in the Church by deepening people's devotion to the Eucharist.
In the process, Kris shares highlights from his own faith journey and how he ended up in his current role. We also spoke about the beautiful and engaging new video series currently being rolled out entitled, "Jesus and the Eucharist" for the Revival, which aims to form people's knowledge and understanding of the Eucharist while building greater community within parishes.
We spoke about the challenges that parishes face in the attempt to cultivate a disposition of life-long formation and accompaniment, and Kris suggested that every parish can look to potentially take on catechesis about all the sacraments as a way to help people understand more deeply the graces that are available to us through them.
We then shared about some of the challenges of staying connected to Jesus while working for Him, before concluding our conversation with Kris expressing his hope for the Revival that it would help to bring people on the margins back to the truth of God's love.
This conversation was illuminating, inspiring and encouraging for me, and I pray that you find it to be as well so that you can continue to do WHATEVER IT TAKES so that together we can tell the Master of Death, "Not Today!"

Episode #191--"We Are All Unique & Unrepeatable"--1: 1 Conversation with Lindsay Caron, Founder, Theology of the Body Parent School
In this Say Yes to Holiness 1:1 Conversation podcast, Christina speaks with Lindsay Caron, educator, parent, and Founder of the Theology of the Body Parent School.
With nearly 20 years of experience in Catholic education and moral development, Lindsay brings passion and focus to her role as Executive Director of the Theology of the Body Parent School. Founded in 2020 in the quiet backyard meetings of a pandemic backdrop, TOB Parent School has now grown to a team of 20 with a robust and expanding Theology of the Body curriculum for busy Catholic families. Lindsay has degrees in Cultural Anthropology (BS), Interdisciplinary Education (MA), and Catholic School Leadership (MA), and this helps her bring an ideal blend of expertise to the non-profit and curriculum development.
The TOB Parent School was founded by Catholic parents from the Portland, OR area. They are theologians, educators, doctors, psychologists, moms, dads, priests, faith formation directors, and business men and women. They have combined intellect and desire to create a new movement of empowered parents who are equipped to reclaim their role as primary educators, and after finding nothing out there to meet the needs of the modern Catholic parent, they got to work and the result was the TOB Monthly, a mini magazine that teaches kids about personhood and sexuality in an age-appropriate way, with the parent always in the lead.
Linday and my conversation was far ranging, everything from the state of education today to how parents are able to be the primary educators that the Church says they are, so I hope our conversation serves to inspire, encourage and help share the beauty of the Church's teachings about personhood and sexuality with those around you, especially yourt children, so that together we can tell the Master of Death, "Not Today!"
