Episode 4 - SCR, LPA, and Preventive Maintenance with Andrew Kline of IGS
Today's guest expert is Andrew Kline of IGS.
Andrew is an engineer and is currently a Business Development Director at IGS, and he has a decade of experience working with, inspecting, and designing SCR and associated hardware.
Quotes:
- SCR/LPA scree inspections are often underutilized by plants because it is not seen as a primary focus.
- It is important to plan for the future when thinking about your SCR and its performance, especially in light of the new NOx regulations. This is especially true since NOx credits are not a viable option anymore.
- LPA, ash distribution, and gas distribution are key things to consider when thinking about your SCR. Air cannons, sonic horns, and catflow screens are crucial to keeping a clean SCR.
- IGS can create custom-designed solutions to help a plant's SCR.
- "Understanding the data is the first step in solving the problem"
