Same as it ever was.

21. And That Is A Blue Jay
Discussions of Pablo Larraín's latest works of genre-blending and VeggieTales appear as well.

20. More of Hong Sang-soo's Same Song
14 films into Hong's filmography, has ABBA finally seen a great film, or are they still all "eh-to-yup-pretty-good"? Will B let sniffling stop her from talking too much? Is ABBA seriously going to Europe next month? The answer to one of these questions is no.

19. Speaking of Sang-soo (and Spielberg, Too)

18. If Wall Street Could Talk, Sleeping Ponyo, etc.
we just keep talking, don't we? sorry about that.

17. Long, Long Man
Them some long, long movies, man. Speaking of which, since there's no episode next week, you can go read *the* man (James Baldwin) instead, please.

16. New Favorites
ABBA bring home a new haul from a new favorite used video store, decide to go to a new favorite restaurant every Monday, talk their new favorite show, and chat B's own new picture.
TRACKING (2023), B's experimental documentary feature: https://youtu.be/E55YEd90HJk

15. Among Many Other Things, Barbenheimer
In this ridiculously long episode, ABBA discuss, in addition to the big new releases everybody's talking about: True Detective Season One (2014), A Portrait of the Artist as A Young Man (1916), Ran (1985), Bram Stoker's Dracula (1897), Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992), Dracula (1931), Dracula (1931), Doodlebug (1997), Sinead O'Connor: The Value of Ignorance (1989), All the President's Men (1976). This episode does not include their already-recorded conversation on Tracking (2023), a feature film B made, as it hasn't been released yet: stay tuned for that, though, because it will be available soon. We hope you enjoy, and thank you for your time.

14. Mystique Jumps in the Bathtub
Fatigued chaos reigned this week. Thank you for your time.

13. The Philosophy of Ethan Hunt
In which A and B discuss for 150 minutes the evolution of the Tom-Cruise-starring Mission: Impossible franchise: its politics, its characters, its relationships with technology and fate and authority and the power of the individual. We hope you enjoy, and thank you for your time.

12a. A Very Special Episode After Dark
Don't listen to this one, mom. Please and thank you.

12. A Very Special Episode
ABBA is joined by friend and former regular on this feed Marc Edward Heuck to discuss the fruits of his generosity with ABBA as they enjoy their week in Los Angeles. Also, the last 60 seconds of this podcast are kind of eventful. Also also, stay tuned for a bonus episode! Unless you're related to A or B; in that case don't stay tuned and ignore any bonus episode (what bonus episode? I don't know anything about a bonus episode...). We hope you enjoy, and thank you for your time.

9. La Grande, Again
From over-the-top works of piety to over-the-top works of comedy to over-the-top works of romance to over-the-top works of science-fiction, it's all here for both better and worse.

8. Game Seven
A and B decided to play Star Realms midst their discussion of The Decameron, The Divine Comedy, The Stranger, The Fellowship of the Ring, The Man Who Fell to Earth, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man and Through a Glass Darkly. We hope you enjoy, and thank you for your time.

7. 7 days, 8 months, 9 films
This one's a doozy, folks. A and B talk for nearly 100 minutes straight about the nine films they saw together this past week, all of which turned out to be some level of fantastic. Spoilers ahead for all of them btw, including the one that just came out, so be warned. We hope you enjoy, and thank you for your time.

3. It's Got Heart
They spent so much money at Music Millennium, y'all. It was a very good first seven months, though, so they earned it. We hope you enjoy, and thank you for your time.

2. The Last Temptation of Doctor Zhivaligari
How does one portray dissent within an oppressive institution, be it Russian, Roman, German [Expressionist], Goblin, or Alien? The answer may surprise you. We hope you enjoy, and thank you for your time.
p.s. apologies for the weird audio

1. A General Unit of Kirby
In this first episode, B Peterson and A Kirby chat about their distinct mindsets re: collecting, and the chill vibes of Kelly Reichardt. Also, Laserdiscs! B apologizes for interrupting her girlfriend so often, and will do better about not doing that going forward. We hope you enjoy, and thank you for your time.

Oll Obout Ovid! No. 24 - 7 Oscar-Winning Animated Shorts, Plus This Year's Nominees!
Hey y'all, it's Ovid.tv time with B Peterson and Witney Seibold! This month it's all about animated shorts again, with an added focus on shorts associated with The Academy Awards. Covering films from as far back as 1952, the twelve shorts discussed are cute and unnerving and beautiful and repellent and light and intense, without a bad one in the bunch as it turns out.
On a sadder note, due to personal health reasons, this will also serve as the final episode of OLL OBOUT OVID!, as well as THE SCREEN'S MARGINS, for the foreseeable future. We want to thank you all so much for listening, for giving us, and these underseen films and filmmakers, your time. We hope you enjoy.

Oll Obout Ovid! No. 23 - Ann Hui's A Simple Life, Shu Lea Chang's Fresh Kill, and Johnnie To's Office!
It's episode 23 of Oll Obout Ovid!, the podcast dedicated to Ovid.tv, and this month B and Witney talk about three films they saw on the service (a 90s queer cyberpunk drama set in New York City, a tender end-of-life drama out of Hong Kong, and a quirky workplace musical also from Hong Kong), as well as a lot of other random stuff. We dunno, this episode's a casual one. We hope you enjoy, and thank you for your time.

Oll Obout Ovid! No. 22 - The Works of Lynne Sachs (feat. Lynne Sachs!) - Part 2
On this twenty-second episode of OLL OBOUT OVID!, on this ONE HUNDREDTH episode of THE SCREEN'S MARGINS, Witney and B have a very special guest! Here to talk with them about her films, which are being showcased on Ovid.tv, is none other than experimental documentary filmmaker Lynne Sachs! Among the films discussed in the second half of their chat are A BIOGRAPHY OF LILITH (1997), THE LAST HAPPY DAY (2009), TIP OF MY TONGUE (2017), A YEAR IN NOTES AND NUMBERS (2017) and A MONTH OF SINGLE FRAMES (FOR BARBARA HAMMER) (2019), which are on Ovid as of today, February 9th. We hope you enjoy, and thank you for your time!

Among the films discussed in the first half of their chat are SERMONS AND SACRED PICTURES (1989), WHICH WAY IS EAST: NOTEBOOKS FROM VIETNAM (1994), STATES OF UNBELONGING (2005) and YOUR DAY IS MY NIGHT (2013), which are currently on Ovid. The second half of the conversation will be released on February 9th, when five more of Lynne Sachs' films are released to the service. We hope you enjoy, and thank you for your time!

Oll Obout Ovid! No. 21 - All the World's Memory, Lost Course, the works of Lynne Sachs, and more!
Welcome to the 99th and final podcast from THE SCREEN'S MARGINS of the year! What a year it's been, and what better way to round out 2021 than by...okay there's nothing special, it's just B Peterson and Witney Seibold talking good film that's available on Ovid.tv, aka the premise of OLL OBOUT OVID! We talk Alain Renais' 1956 tribute to libraries, Madeline Anderson's documentation of Civil Rights activism and activists, Lynne Sachs' experimental explorations of history, language and the documentary form itself, Jill Li's chronicling of a democratic movement in Southern China, and more besides! We hope you enjoy, and thank you for your time.

Oll Obout Ovid! No. 20 - The Films of Hu Bo - An Elephant Sitting Still, Man in the Well, Night Runner, Distant Father
Hey y'all, we're back. We made it to episode twenty of our Ovid.tv podcast: oh oh oh two oh! And what better and more on-brand way for B Peterson and Witney Seibold to celebrate, than by exploring some international independent arthouse films, three of which are shorts, and one of which is four hours in length. That's right, this month Witney and B are discussing the complete [filmed] works of Chinese novelist, writer, editor, and director Hu Bo, who left us far too soon. They include his two 2014 thesis short films DISTANT FATHER, which he co-wrote and edited, and NIGHT RUNNER, his directorial debut, as well as MAN IN THE WELL, the 2016 short he made while working under Béla Tarr, and, of course, AN ELEPHANT SITTING STILL, his first and final feature. A warning: discussions of suicide and suicidal ideation ahead. Thank you for your time.

Oll Obout Ovid! No. 19 - Creepy, Bedevil, Labyrinth of Cinema and so, so much more!
OLL OBOUT OVID!, our now monthly podcast dedicated to what B Peterson and Witney Seibold have seen on Ovid.tv, is back for its October installment! This month, we've got a total of 16 or so films currently available on the indie streaming service to discuss; they include horror films (THE NIGHTMARE, CREEPY), musicals (FOOTNOTES, JEANNETTE: THE CHILD OF JOAN OF ARC), queer romances (FRESH KILL, THE CITY OF THE FUTURE), and everything in between! Witney and B also try to express their adoration for the new and final film from Nobuhiko Kobayashi entitled LABYRINTH OF CINEMA. Oh, and DUNE inevitably gets mentioned. We hope you enjoy, and thank you for your time. We'll see you next month!

Oll Obout Ovid! No. 18 - The Entire Animated Shorts Collection!
Welcome, everyone (including the, uh, many *many* new listeners, like what is up with that?), to the 95th and final episode of The Screen's Margins as a full-blown podcast network. After nine months of releasing on average nearly three podcasts a week, B Peterson is calling it a day. But before she goes, we've got one more weekly episode of OLL OBOUT OVID!, our podcast dedicated to Ovid.tv, and it's a doozy! B Peterson and Witney Seibold are reviewing all THIRTY-FIVE short films in Ovid's Animated Shorts Collection, all of which are provided by The National Film Board of Canada. Ranging between two and sixteen minutes each and totaling out at nearly five-and-a-half hours, these shorts are everything from hilarious to horrifying, from eye-poppingly gorgeous to downright [and deliberately] off-putting; they are absolutely worth your time. Speaking of time, thank you sincerely for offering yours to this network and to these films and filmmakers who most cinephiles will never give a second glance! We hope you've enjoyed, because we certainly have. See y'all in a month!

Oll Obout Ovid! No. 17 - Happy Hour (Again!), Hotel Terminus, and The Great Malaise!
This week on OLL OBOUT OVID!, the Ovid.tv podcast, Witney and B talk two super long things and one very short thing. The two super long things are Ryūsuke Hamaguchi's HAPPY HOUR (2015), which B has now caught up on, HOTEL TERMINUS: THE LIFE AND TIMES OF KLAUS BARBIE (1988), the Marcel Ophuls documentary abut a Nazi's life after WWII (which B will not be catching up on), and THE GREAT MALAISE (2019), a short film from Catherine LaPage about...three guesses. We hope you enjoy, and thank you for your time.

Oll Obout Ovid! No. 16 - La isla, Mar, and Happy Hour!
This week on OLL OBOUT OVID!, our podcast dedicated to Ovid.tv, Witney and B talk the remainder of Dominga Sotomayor's films that are available on the service (2013's LA ISLA and 2014's MAR), as well as Ryūsuke Hamaguchi's 5-hour platonic relationship drama HAPPY HOUR from 2015. We hope you enjoy, and thank you for your time.

Oll Obout Ovid! No. 15 - Thursday Till Sunday and Too Late to Die Young!
This week on OLL OBOUT OVID!, our Ovid.tv podcast, Witney and B talk two feature films from Chilean director Dominga Sotomayor Castillo (her first and third to be precise). First up is 2012's DE JUEVES A DOMINGO or THURSDAY TILL SUNDAY, which chronicles what will likely be a family's final road trip together through the eyes of a child, followed by 2018's TARDE PARA MORIR JOVEN or TOO LATE TO DIE YOUNG, which shows a pivotal week in the life of an off-the-grid commune through the eyes of three adolescents. Fun fact: if you pay super close attention to this episode, you might be able to detect Witney and B's particular affection for one of these films. We hope you enjoy, and thank you for your time.

Oll Obout Ovid! No. 14 - Female Directors, Girls Always Happy, shorts by Dominga Sotomayor, and more!
This week on OLL OBOUT OVID!, the podcast dedicated to Ovid.tv, Witney and B talk cinema from Chile and China. These include two films directed by Yang Mingming which explore strained relationships between women artists (2012's FEMALE DIRECTORS and 2018's GIRLS ALWAYS HAPPY), three short films from Dominga Sotomayor which portray strained familial relationships (BELOW, THE MOUNTAIN, VIDEO GAME), and Witney finally catching up with Patricio Guzmán's NOSTALGIA FOR THE LIGHT. We hope you enjoy, and thank you for your time.

Oll Obout Ovid! No. 13 - Nostalgia for the Light, The Pearl Button, Days, and more!
This week on OLL OBOUT OVID!, the Ovid.tv podcast, Witney and B are once again talking Patricio Guzmán with his 2010 and 2014 films NOSTALGIA FOR THE LIGHT and THE PEARL BUTTON, which, along with THE CORDILLERA OF DREAMS, form a trilogy on Chilean geography and political history. Also discussed is the new Tsai Ming-Liang film DAYS, as well as a Godzilla film or two. We hope you enjoy, and thank you for your time.

OIl Obout Ovid! No. 12 - The Cordillera of Dreams and Best of Fest 2!
Oll Obout Ovid!, the Ovid.tv podcast is back again. This week, Witney and B talk THE CORDILLERA OF DREAMS, Patricio Guzmán's 2019 documentary exploring Chile's geography and political history, as well as the 8 experimental dance short films that make up BEST OF FEST 2! We hope you enjoy, and thank you for your time.

Fassbinder and His Friends No. 8 - The Marriage of Maria Braun (1979)
FASSBINDER AND HIS FRIENDS, the Rainer Werner Fassbinder podcast series from B Peterson and Harold Urteaga, has reached its conclusion for the foreseeable future. But before they go, Harold and B get to talk Fassbinder's 1979 romance THE MARRIAGE OF MARIA BRAUN, fresh off their screening at The Austin Film Society on 35mm! We hope you have enjoyed these Fassbinder Fridays, because we sure have. Thank you for your time.

Oll Obout Ovid! No. 11 - Nostalghia, Mirror, One Day in the Life of Andrei Arsenevich (feat. Harold Urteaga!)
It's once again time for OLL OBOUT OVID!, the weekly podcast from B Peterson and Witney Seibold dedicated to exploring what the Ovid.tv streaming service has to offer. And this week, Witney and B aren't alone! Harold Urteaga, cohost of OUR WEEKLY WISEMAN, FASSBINDER AND HIS FRIENDS and LAS LEGUAS DE LUCRECIA is here with them to talk Andrei Tarkovsky. Specifically, they discuss his 1983 semi-autobiographical film NOSTALGHIA about a Russian poet in exile, his 1975 semi-autobiographical film MIRROR about an aging poet reflecting on his life, and the 2000 Chris Marker documentary about Tarkovsky ONE DAY IN THE LIFE OF ANDREI ARSENEVICH. We hope you enjoy, and thank you for your time.

Las Leguas de Lucrecia No. 7 - Zama (2017)
Folks, we made it. Episode 7 of LAS LEGUAS DE LUCRECIA, our podcast dedicated to the films of Lucrecia Martel, is our last. Harold and B finally give up on the whole Spanish/Spanglish thing so that they might speak freely on Martel's most recent film to date: ZAMA. Released in 2017, it tells the tale of Don Diego de Zama, a mid-ranking subject of The Spanish Crown who is stuck in a Central American colony, in every sense of the word. We hope you have enjoyed, and thank you for your time.
NOTE FOR CLARITY: in the episode, Harold and B refer to a certain character as "The Oriental." This is the only way the character is referred to throughout the film, and the character is White (he is a European merchant who lived/worked in East Asia).

Oll Obout Ovid! No. 10 - Grin Without a Cat, Derek Jarman's Blue and Riddles of the Sphinx (Again!)
It's Episode Ten of OLL OBOUT OVID!, our podcast dedicated to the Ovid.tv streaming service! This week, in addition to discussing Derek Jarman's final work BLUE (1993) and Laura Mulvey's avant-garde RIDDLES OF THE SPHINX (1977) again, Witney and B talk Chris Marker's 1977 historical politics documentary GRIN WITHOUT A CAT. They, of course, do so while frequently tying it all back to Star Trek and Agnès Varda. We hope you enjoy, and thank you for your time.

Oll Obout Ovid! No. 9 - Derek Jarman's Blue, Sebastiane, Riddles of the Sphinx, and more!
It's been another week of watching Ovid.tv for Witney Seibold and B Peterson, and they're here on OLL OBOUT OVID!, the podcast dedicated to the arthouse streaming service, to talk about it! This time, in addition to catching up on some of each other's previous watches, Witney and B discuss RIDDLES OF THE SPHINX, Laura Mulvey's 1977 landmark feminist piece, as well as the Derek Jarman's first and final films SEBASTIANE (1976) and BLUE (1993). We hope you enjoy, and thank you for your time.

Fassbinder and His Friends No. 7 - The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant (1972)
FASSBINDER AND HIS FRIENDS, the Rainer Werner Fassbinder Podcast, is BACK, babyyy! This week, Harold and B are looking at Fassbinder's 1972 drama that is often heralded as his masterpiece entitled THE BITTER TEARS OF PETRA VON KANT. Starring Margit Carstensen, Irm Hermann, and Hanna Schygulla, this chamber piece portrays famed designer Petra Von Kant's merciless personal tragedies, all from within her bedroom. This one's a doozy. We hope you enjoy, and thank you for your time.

Fresh From the Margins No. 21 - Best Films of 2021 So Far!
FRESH FROM THE MARGINS, our series hosted by B Peterson and Anna Campion that has been dedicated to smaller New Releases, has returned for its swan song. And what a song it is! Our first episode, which was released January 2nd, was all about our lists for the Best Films of 2020. And so it seemed fitting that we end our podcast by looking back on the first half of 2021, so that we might discuss what films brought us the most laughter and tears and excitement and calm. This episode is, to be quite frank, a very fun conversation. We hope you enjoy, and thank you for your time.

Oll Obout Ovid! No. 8 - Genus Pan, The Book of the Dead, Vampire Clay, and more!
NOTE: This episode contains spoilers for the ending of GENUS, PAN between 0:21:02 and 0:27:43. Y'all been warned.

Our Weekly Wiseman No. 14 - Domestic Violence (2001)
OUR WEEKLY WISEMAN, the podcast dedicated to going through every Frederick Wiseman film in reverse chronological order has RETURNED...for one more episode. Yup, it's bittersweet, but B Peterson and Harold can at least now say, having seen and discussed DOMESTIC VIOLENCE (2001), which explores the ins and outs of the Tampa DV survivor center known as "The Spring," that they've explored all of Wiseman's work in the 21st Century.
This was the podcast series that started it all, and we're so thankful for those who've listened. This project may not be gone forever, but until we return, from the bottom of our hearts, we hope you enjoy, and thank you for your time.

Oll Obout Ovid! No. 7 - So Pretty (Again!), and More Signifyin' Works of Marlon Riggs!
Welcome back to OLL OBOUT OVID!, the podcast from Witney Seibold and B Peterson dedicated to the arthouse streaming service Ovid.tv! In this episode, we essentially expand on our last one, with Witney giving his thoughts on SO PRETTY, the queer film from Jessie Jefferey Dunn Rovinelli which B reviewed last week, and further discussion of the films of Marlon Riggs, specifically his 1989 experimental documentary TONGUES UNTIED, his 1991 short ANTHEM, his 1991 PBS special COLOR ADJUSTMENT, and his final film from 1995 BLACK IS... BLACK AIN'T. We hope you enjoy, and thank you for your time.

Las Leguas de Lucrecia No. 6 - Muta (2011), Leguas (2015)
LAS LEGUAS DE LUCRECIA, the Spanglish-Language podcast dedicated to the filmography of Lucrecia Martel, is on its penultimate episode! Recorded back in July, Harold and B talk Martel's 2011 short MUTA, which is an entry in the Miu Miu Women's Tales series, as well as LEGUAS, the 2015 short from which this podcast got its name, which deals with education in indigenous communities. We hope you enjoy, and thank you for your time.

An Announcement Regarding Our [Finite] Future
Hey all! So it turns out that things don't always work out the way you want to. Who knew?! Anyway, here's an update from B Peterson explaining why and how this podcast network is going to go out with a 3-month-long bang. Thank you for your time.

Oll Obout Ovid! No. 6 - So Pretty, La Commune (Paris, 1871), and some Signifyin' Works of Marlon Riggs!
OLL OBOUT OVID!, the podcast dedicated to Ovid.tv, is back again! This week, Witney and B, once again recording virtually, discuss SO PRETTY (2019), a queer exploration of love and literature from Jessie Jefferey Dunn Rovinelli, LA COMMUNE (PARIS, 1871), a 2000 documentary in which Peter Watkins recreates a historical movement with the use of live theater, and four films from queer legend Marlon Riggs, those being ETHNIC NOTIONS (1986), AFFIRMATIONS (1990), ANTHEM (1991), and NO REGRETS (1992). We hope you enjoy, and thank you for your time.
