He tells us we will suffer if we want to share in His glory (Romans 8:17), and in both Proverbs 3:5-6 and Isaiah 43 1-3 He gives us assurance He is our protector in all times.

Many of us can identify with the Prodigal Luke writes about in Chapter 15. A young man who wants it all - now. When he gets what he requests, he leaves and his life becomes a nightmare. Often we get distracted by work, by life and drift from our faith. Like the Prodigal's Dad, God our Father receives us home with open arms.
