In this brand new series, as part of the original 'Mega C-Suite Stories' podcast channel, meet our Cyber Risk Meetup podcast host Jalpa Bhavsar as she covers different stories of successful cyber security industry leaders from around the world. Starting from Sydney, Australia, in this first episode, we hear from Chirag Joshi, CEO & Founder of 7 Rules Cyber, author and a speaker as he shares his journey in this field, and how he transitioned into security all those years ago. Since the cyber skills shortage worsened over the pandemic, Jalpa and Chirag explore how those looking to break into cyber can leverage transferable skills to couple with cyber security skills for a successful start aka securing your passport to cyber security. Synopsis: Jalpa starts this episode by asking Chirag about his formal education and his plans for a career when he first graduated. She then dives into the topic of transferable skills, asking Chirag how he was able to identify the transferable skills from his initial Systems Analyst role and apply them to transition into cyber security specific roles over the years. Chirag also talks about chapter from his book, 7 Rules to Become Exceptional at Cyber Security, about the role of differentiating skills to gain an upper edge. Jalpa then requests Chirag to share an example of his family member who successfully transitioned to cyber more recently, and his advice to anyone else considering the same.
